Absolutely INCREDIBLE customer service. I was driving cross country from Texas to Colorado when my rear view mirror popped off. I was 10 miles from Dumas, but I am so glad I turned around and drove back to Amarillo. The service technician, Gabe, was fantastic!! Turns out a windshield replacement done elsewhere earlier this year was installed incorrectly which prevented me from putting the mirror back into place. Gabe took apart the ENTIRE console and reassembled it correctly allowing the mirror to be popped back into place with ease! Got me on my way safely and in record time. Took my vehicle for an oil change and they failed to properly secure the drain plug. As a result, I lost half a tank of oil, which could have seriously damaged my engine. When I called to report the issue, they didn't care at all and offered no resolution. Negligence like this is unacceptable, and the lack of accountability makes it even worse. If you value your vehicle's health and customer service, I strongly recommend going elsewhere. read more

I purchased my first Subaru from Brown in 2010. Mitch Steinmetz was my salesman, and I cannot say enough wonderful things about him. He's a straight shooter and just an all around wonderful person. Over the years, numerous friends and family have purchased Subarus after talking to me about my experience with my car, and I always sent them to Mitch. They all had wonderful experiences with him. Last week, I contacted Mitch for help with my son who was looking for a used truck as a second vehicle. He immediately found exactly the right vehicle and had everything ready when my son arrived in town. I have NEVER had a bad experience at Brown, and I am so grateful to have a dealership I can actually trust. I bought a used Subaru Forrester out of pocket, for it to immediately need repairs which would have added up around $2300 (for new struts, calipers, rotor, brake pads, front passenger low arm control). If I knew I was going to have to pay that much more I would had gotten a newer model with less mileage. Make sure you test your vehicle on the bigger highways that go up to 75 MPH. Much of the issues that car had were not noticeable going below 60 MPH. I had to wait a few weeks to get the struts replaced which they went 50/50 with me which did not even cover the issue that I was having. They also knew there were other issues, that were stated, but they only "fixed one things" I took it back and wanted me to pay about $1100 to get the things fixed that should have been fixed the first time. I have been unable to drive much outside the area and had to cancel trips and rely on others for transportation for almost two months. I have not been impressed, it has been a huge waste of my time and money and will be servicing my vehicle elsewhere. read more

Brown Subaru recently replaced our 2014 Forester's blown 2.5i boxer engine. It works well now and gave good MPG on our trip home to Denver. I did have a problem with the final bill, which the service advisor adjusted after I pointed out a significant error. Then later I worked by phone with the Executive Manager Nick to resolve the last part of the disputed charge. It was easy to point out these issues and get them resolved by Brown. They care about what the customer thinks and want to make things right. I'm a happy customer due to these two men. read more

The service department are the only people who do their job around there. Sales will be sales... only interested in helping if you're going to buy something. Not the experience I've had other places. They have no problem low balling you on offers and trying to give you something you don't want. Then make you feel like crap when what they have isn't what you want. I've called everyday this past week trying to get ahold of someone to help me get my warranty from my old vehicle that I got from them refunded. Message, number, no response. No wander it's a rotating door through there. What an absolute crappy place. Please take your business elsewhere. read more

robert foelsch worse used car buying experience ever. definitely buyer beware at this location. purchased are used vehicle from this location two months ago. within 24 hours vehicles check engine light brake control and cruise control malfunctions. i know that i purchased and as is. but after me and the family had purchased three new vehicles from this dealership with nothing but high praise for their integrity and business practices. used on the other hand was a completely different situation. bought a used vehicle from them for $13,000 maybe i paid a little bit too much for it but with their reputation of excellent integrity in customer service i thought it was worth it.and as i said within 24 hours figured out the car was definitely not worth it.. after two months of dealing with this substandard vehicle tried to let them make it right. went to buy a different used vehicle from them with the substandard car for trade. and they offered me $2000 i for the vehicle. reason being is because they picked up one at auction for that price. i'm assuming they picked up mine for that too and decided that 2000 to13,000 is a smaller profit dealer ship. as a teenager in my youth i've worked with buy here pay here dealerships that have more integrity and honesty then this dealership. run don't walk don't do business with them. their standard response from bad reviews is they're sorry they didn't meet the customers expectation. but they can save that for when they meet their maker. and tried to tell him that they are sorry they didn't meet his expectation of integrity and honesty. read more

Bought an outback, certified pre owned, have only gotten to drive it 2 out of 5 weeks since we bought it. Gave it to us with an empty gas tank too. Classy huh? When we asked to trade up for something new, they offered us 2k less than we paid for it just a few weeks earlier and inflated the price on a new cross trek. bought a 2016 WRX STI from Amarillo Brown Subaru and when I bought it, it had a crack on the windshield but I didn't find out until an HOUR after I signed all the papers and pulled out of the lot. I tried to bring it back to see if they could do anything about it but the service manager and dealer wasn't interested in providing me any help. The service manager actually joked with the dealer about it as I was 20 feet away but I couldn't hear what they were saying. After not getting any help I drove 106 miles home with a crack on my windshield that grew to 3 ft. I ended up paying $400 out of pocket to get the windshield fixed but it was a 2 week wait. It doesn't stop there. I began having some whining noises from my vehicle and attempted to contact the service manager 3-4 times but no one was there to answer my questions so I left a voice mail for a call back. A week passed and I hadn't received a call from them so I took it up to Subaru Of America where they not only reimbursed me my $400 I paid for my windshield but they also provided me EXCELLENT customer service and answered all the questions I had about my car. As a active duty member of the United States Air Force, I WOULDN'T recommend anyone going to Brown Subaru of Amarillo for their next purchase unless you want to deal with people who only want to make commission and have nothing to do with you after you walk out their front door. I hope every veteran near or far reads this because this is no way to treat someone who not only spent 40k on a new car but risks their life everyday just to be treated like dirt.
