The day after we bought the cars our salesmen called me and thanked me again for buying the cars and said if there is anything we need to not hesitate to call. We also got a free oil change when we bought our Kia and I got a call from the service department lady the next day and she thanked me personally for using them and told me to have a great 4th of July weekend. I thought that was so nice for them to take the time and call and thank us!! I've also gotten follow up calls from them and they were just making sure we were enjoying our new car!! I would like to describe my car buying experience from start to finish. I was buying my first ever new car. Me and my husband went in to browse. Our dealer was Jerome. We told him we had a large family and needed a 7-seater car. He showed us a couple and after deciding we liked the Sorento, he should us some of those. He told us that it had 7 seats. (I know I should have checked, but also why would I doubt that.) It also had screens and we were told they could screen mirror and our kids could watch shows in the back. We bought the car. When we got home and loaded up the kids, they told us there were only 6 seats and our family wouldn't fit. Bummer but still loved the car and we made it work by taking 2 cars everywhere. We fought and fought and fought to get the screens to work. Hours of youtube and chat GPT and asking friends who had a Kia. I called Kia and they said it was a service issue. Service said it was a sales issue. I called again and they told me to leave my car for the day and service would take a look. After having my car up there for an entire day, I went to pick it up after work. When I arrived the service guy (Noel) said, let's look in the back. I got in the back and turned on the screens and he said, "Ok what is it doing? I was like, "You had my car all day!! Did you not even turn it on?" I then proceeded to update it myself, in front of them, for 25 minutes. Then we tried again, still no luck. He then said, "why don't you google it or ask a friend?" I JUST BOUGHT A BRAND NEW CAR!!! You are the service department. I went home and called the manager the next day. The service manager got us in the next day. Again, had my car an entire day. They weren't able to figure it out and so they had to open a techline case on it. It had been there for 3 days with still no answer. I complained about not having a car for almost a week now, being lied to about the amount of seats, and now being passed around when I bought a brand new off the lot car. I was then passed to the sales manager. I explained what was going on and he said he wanted to make this right, "How about we get you into what you want. Something that has the right amount of seats and screens that work." I bought the lie and we traded out the Sorento for a Telluride. I was told it has all the same features. It did not. It does not have wireless apple car play. It did not have the sensors. It did not have the full sun roof. I drove it over the weekend and it kept saying that we needed to update with a USB. So, I took it back today to be detailed (they hadn't done that yet since we bought it) and updated manually. Again, I was without a car all day. I picked it up at 6 and it was still dirty. They washed the outside... and the dealer (Israel) said, "oh they said everything was updated already so you should be fine. So they didn't need to update anything." I pulled up the update and it had still not been ran. I have been lied to, jerked around, spent more on the car than we wanted and I am fed up. I will never go to the Kia lot here again. The worst place ever to buy a car!!! Don't do it! I bought my car in 2019... I bought a 2019 Kia forte. I was getting my oil changes and everything done at Kia up until my warranty ended. After my warranty stopped, I continue to maintain my car. I've never been in a wreck in my vehicle. I've never even gotten a ticket in my vehicle. October 2025 I was driving down western and my car just stopped. No lights came on anything. I was stuck in traffic thankfully I didn't have my kids with me for about 45 minutes until someone came and helped me get the car out of the way. And ever since then my car hasn't worked. I took my car to Kia the beginning of November... I didn't get my car back until the beginning of February They told me that they've been really busy and that they wouldn't be able to look at my vehicle until after Thanksgiving. I said that was fine because I really just wanted to know why my car just stopped like that. So I borrowed my mom's car to get to work and pick up kids. The communication was OK and then I didn't hear from them after Thanksgiving that they were starting the car so I text them because that's how they do. Everything is through text. He told me that they looked at my car and it looked like it had jumped time... That it would be an easy fix. The motor and the transmission looked great. I'm actually really glad that everything was through text because I still have those text messages I was happy to hear that there was nothing wrong with my motor or the transmission and that it would be an easy fix. So I asked when the car would start being worked on and then that's when the communication ended. He had told me that he had to remove the valve covers to look at the motor and transmission... All the things. He said everything looked great. Three weeks later, he sends me a text that he needs to remove the valve covers again in order to get the warranty department to pay to fix my car. He said that he had pulled up all of my oil changes and maintenance to the vehicle and it look like I have been maintaining the car, but he had to send it over to warranty along with video and pictures. So that they would have to remove the valve cover covers once again, but I had to agree to pay $175 for them to do that. I asked why they didn't take the videos and pictures the first time? He said that he should have but he didn't think about it. So I was iffy about doing it, but he reassured me that warranty would pay for it because the car was in really good condition and that they had pulled all the receipts that I had maintained my car. And I agree to it because I trusted him. Then I didn't hear from him again, so I keep texting and texting and nothing. My uncle finally went up there and asked what the heck was going on with the car. They told my uncle that it looked like I hadn't been changing the oil! When I have text messages stating that they pulled all my receipts of all my oil changes. He then tells my uncle will just because she was taking it to get the oil change doesn't actually mean that they were changing the oil. Well, how the hell am I supposed to know that if they're documenting it and saying that the oil's been changed why is it my fault even though he said that they can see that I've been maintaining the car? So he tells my uncle this is my uncle comes to me and says why were you not changing the oil? I got really upset... It caused a bunch of problems He then text me and says warranty is not gonna cover it. It's gonna cost about $8000 for you to fix the car.!! I owe $2000 to this car that I haven't driven since October But guess what? My car only has 50,000 miles on it and Kia wants to buy it off of me however they want me to purchase another car from them and that's the only way that they'll work the deal. All I want is for them to pay off the $2000 so I can quit making payments on a car that I can't even use. I've already paid them 16,000. I still have all the text messages from them... I still keep getting emails, phone calls, text messages to please sell them my car... If my car was in such freaking bad shape, why are they so hungry to buy it? Please do not do business with them. Thankfully, my boyfriend had an extra vehicle that I can borrow for work however, if his car ever breaks down well, how's he gonna get it around? I hate Kia... Their mechanics are the worst. They have the worst sales people there. They literally tried putting me in a 2026 car with payment 700 and something dollars and that's with using my Kia as a down payment There are the worst and they're selfish... They only care for themselves. They don't care for the customer. They're the worst if I could give zero stars, that's what I would give. read more

Their technicians did not properly secure my oil drain plug and my vehicle lost all of its oil because of their human error. Another oil change at a better dealership and was told they should pay for this because it was their fault. Very unprofessional! Do not recommend them at all. Then going and looking at all their reviews its a wonder why anyone would want to go there. My daughter and her boyfriend went to look for his first truck and had the worst experience. I'm not sure if they saw two young kids and were trying to take advantage and sale an overpriced truck with hail damage and a cracked windshield. When told no the sales manager James Diaz came over and asked "what's wrong with my truck. " They told him it was too much for all the damage. I am writing this review to formally express my dissatisfaction with the service I have received at this dealership regarding ongoing issues with the rear entertainment systems(TVs) in my vehicle. Shortly after purchasing my car brand new, the TVs stopped functioning. They had only came on for a bit at the dealership during demo and once for a short period of time afterwards. Due to the necessity of having my vehicle for daily use, it was difficult to bring it in immediately for evaluation. However, I have now brought my car THREE separate times in an attempt to get this issue resolved. On the first visit, I requested an oil change and hope the TV issue could be addressed as well. Not only was there no resolution for the TVs, but the oil change itself appeared incomplete, as I still had low fluid levels afterward. Later, I went on vacation and left the vehicle with this team for six days - fully expecting this extended time to allow for proper inspection and repair. I understand that two of those days were holidays, but even so, the issue remained unresolved when I returned. At this time I was told that there was nothing they could have done different because they had over 150 cars that were needing repair. I have Kia Access on my phone and the door was not even opened on my vehicle during this whole stay! I was ultimately required to bring the vehicle in a third time and leave it once again. After this visit, I was told that a penny had been found in a socket which allegedly blew a fuse and caused the malfunction. I explained to Damian - Service Manager - that the only person that had been in the back seat of my car was my two year old grand daughter who remains in a car seat and could not have placed a penny in there. I also explained that this car is used for my job and I am the only person using this vehicle. At this time Damian said - that's strange I wonder how this happened. Monday rolls around and I receive a call from Damian that my car is finally ready but his General Manager had decided that since it was something that we caused we had to pay for the repair. I told him that is impossible. This could have happened at any time. I told him I would be up there shortly to get my car. When I walked in to the dealership the General Manager completely dismissed my concerns. He said that since I purchased the car new it didn't matter. When I brought up the possibility that it could have happened during a test drive prior to purchase, I was once again told it didn't matter. This could have happened on several occasion since then TV's didn't work from the beginning! The guys were rushing the purchase of the car the night we bought it. They are the ones who moved all my stuff out of my old Kia into my new one! I had to bring it back to be detailed. Could have been done then! This GM's tone and attitude during this exchange were highly unprofessional and rude. The old ownership would be humiliated the way this man acts. As a customer who purchased a brand new vehicle from this dealership, I am extremely disappointed by the lack of accountability, the poor communication, the substandard service, and the dismissive treatment I received. I truly expected more since this is the third Kia I have purchased and both my sons purchased their wives vehicles from this same dealership when it was under different management. The sale guys - Colby and Chris are GREAT! I even felt bad for Damian when he told me I needed to pay for the repair but it should've been communicated earlier that I would have out of pocket cost. Dropped our car off this morning at 8:30 and they told me it would be done by 2:30 so I call at 2:45 and asked what's going on and was told there was a miscommunication with the tech and they didn't know what was going on. That's not a miscommunication that's no communication at all. So after 6 hours in the service bay was told all they had done was an oil change and nowhere near what else had already been told was going to happen. Was supposed to do a 20 point inspection and rotors. Left without my car for the day and with less answers than when I brought it in this morning. I recently purchased my first KIA and had to take my car in for a recall. Over a month later and 9 messages and phone calls I have had no luck getting in for my replacement parts. I get no return calls and send multiple messages that an AI responder assures me someone will be in touch soon and never does. You can't get an answer in the service department on any day. When I arrived in person the advisor was not friendly or helpful in any way, would not put the car into my name so that I could call in directly with questions or information as it was still in the dealership name. I asked many times for a history print out and recall list with no luck. My personal information was obtained by the advisor and shared with derogatory comments amongst other advisors and even persons outside the dealership. I am taking my car elsewhere for any service other than recalls as I have no faith in the service department following through with their side. I work in the industry and am fully aware of the responsibilities and behavior of an advisor and am very disappointed that this would be allowed at any dealership. I had to go as far as contacting service managers and GM just to find out if my part was in-which it was but have still had no luck getting my advisor to set up me return service. 1 week later and still waiting...... Note- this has been going on since mid-January and we are now end of February. In our industry we live by reviews and 5 STARS, I am not able to fill out my survey as a KIA owner because the service advisor refused to update my information to receive one from KIA. Unfortunately, my only other option is to leave a YELP review until I am able to obtain the KIA survey I should have received about my service experience. read more

Wow after reading these reviews, I can relate and see exactly what people are saying. I am currently traveling from the west coast to east coast and somewhere along the way I got 86 gas, which I believe triggered my check engine light causing it to flash. I stopped at O'Reilly in Amarillo TX and they told me the code showing was P1327, which was a recall part that had already been fixed. So what does my dumb a$$ do, I stop at Kia of Amarillo to ask them about the code to see if it was false or to see if the recalled part needed to be replaced. I never told them I got 86 gas. I was in the dealership from 11 am to 8pm. My car didn't get pulled in until around 3/4pm. They had a driver take me to get lunch and then I came back and waited in the break room, where I ate my lunch and watched a movie on my phone. Around 5:30 pm they come and tell me that my engine needs to be replaced. I can either trade in my car for a new one, wait around town in a hotel for it to be fixed, or leave it there for it to be fixed and get it shipped to me. Mind you: I've never had any problems with this car the entire time I've owned it and maintained it well for the past 4 years. So then I'm passed off to sales for them to try and get me in a new car, after explaining that I do have much left to payoff on my current vehicle, they still ran my credit attempting to make a sale. Now here it is 7:30 pm and they tell me the banks are closed, my credit is bad, and I don't have verified income. So then I ask for my keys and they tell me it's locked up, we can't get to your car because the service department is closed, my car has no compression, and it's basically not drivable, after I just drove from California, and there is also a car parked behind mine. Then they suggest I get a rental, flight home, or hotel. I honestly never in my life seen such careless behavior, after telling them I needed to leave several times to get to my destination as a traveling nurse. They could have cared less. As we sat there looking stupidly at each other for a resolution, I advised them to call the service man to come back to the dealership so I can get into my car. Here it is 8 pm and he kindly came back to allow me in my car to get my belongings to get dropped off at a hotel. He takes me to the hotel and then tells me to call in the morning when I am ready for the shuttle. Morning comes and there is no answer at the dealership. I call Kia finance to find out that the case has not even been started. So I basically sat there all day for nothing, while they' were trying to convince me that I need a whole new engine. I uber to the dealership and informed them before arriving that I will be picking up my car. Service guy goes let me see what my manager says. Upon arrival, I politely let the cashier know twice that I'm ready to check out and leave and she finally gets my car pulled out of service. When I tell you as a traveler, this was an absolute nightmare. I remained calm but this could have escalated and got ugly real quick. To me this is the lowest form of customer service. Do not ever bring your vehicle here unless your life depends on it and even if it does just keep going. Trust me you'll thank me later. I've never experienced anything like this and no Kia dealership has ever dropped me off at a hotel, at my expense, and tried to keep my car to see if they can fix my engine under warranty. Never TF again. This dealership leaves a horrible taste in your mouth for Kia. Moral of the story: if you ever get bad gas just put an octane booster in the tank and the light will reset itself and clear or get the code cleared. Stop letting these dealerships put you through hell to make money off of you. And notice I didn't mention any names for the simple fact that I did feel that they were somewhat concerned, but to have made all those accusations and not have done a diagnostic test is diabolical. If you were ever taken advantage of by this location I'm sorry for you and pray that those people get what they deserve because that's not right, especially for single women traveling. Any other dealership would have given me back my keys the first time I said it. read more

The incompetence of this service department would have you wondering how they could possibly still be in business. The only answer is, when you're in the middle of nowhere and are the only Kia dealership around, people do not have another option. I scheduled a service appt on 4/25/24. I explained that I live 1.5 hours away and could not leave my car overnight. I was told to come in the following Friday 5/3/24 and if I could get there by 930 or 10 they would be able to do a diagnostic and be done by 3 or 4pm. This was still a long time for me to hang out in Amarillo with no car, but as the only other option would be OKC, I agreed. I brought my car in on 5/3 a few minutes after 10am. I was informed there was no appt scheduled for me. My name was not in the system. After explaining that I spoke to someone and what they said, it was clear that I had spoken to someone there and the issue was with Kia, not me. The woman who took in my car told me that was an unrealistic time for that person to give but she would still honor what I was told over the phone. At 11am, I took a shuttle to a nearby place to get a drink and get some work done while I waited. At 1pm, I get a call that they could not do anything to my car today. Just thinking it's completely normal to have wasted 3 hours of my day to do absolutely nothing. Not to mention the 3 hour round trip to and from the dealership. At 1:30, I was still waiting to be picked up by the shuttle which is only a 5 minute drive. If it wasn't an hour walk I would have just walked. I had to call multiple times to get someone to answer the phone. When someone finally answered they told me the shuttle driver was out to lunch and they were sending someone who was "getting in the car right now" .... At 1:47 I am finally on my way back to my car. My car which drove over 100 miles today to get diagnosed when it was already having issues and will now be driving 100 miles back with no answers as to what is going on. The best part is I had already gotten the car diagnosed, but because it had an issue with a dealer part I called this Kia to ask them to order the part. They told me they needed to diagnose the car first. I know, I know scheduling is just so hard. Literally go anywhere else. read more

They called the next day said it only needed a new battery, was clean, and we could come get it. The transmission had gone out within 2 months of buy it. Before starting the entire ordeal, I told them that I purchased my car at Kia of Alliance and that I should have a free oil change through them. I gave them my VIN number and the lady on the phone told me they didn't need it now, that they'd see it when we brought it in. I asked her if there was ANYTHING else they needed from me because someone else was going to drop off the car (with no knowledge of the vehicle). They change my oil. Chrystal calls me and tells me it's $90 and they won't release my car unless I pay. Chrystal was super unprofessional on the phone- cut me off each time I tried to speak. The lady who dropped off my car said she was walking by her and muttering things about not paying to her. Very immature, unprofessional, bad management all around. I understand the situation of the warranty being with the other dealership, but not once did they at least apologize for the miscommunication on their end. No sympathy at all. I would've gone somewhere cheaper had I known I was going to pay here. read more

Should have an option for ZERO stars with "treacherous" next to it. Don't get a KIA. Just don't. On top of my KIA having multiple recalls, we only have ONE KIA service station/car lot which means they're always swamped. Today, my MIL light came on and my car was jerking every time I accelerated and braked. I called the number on the recall letter. It took about 7 times and two hours (within those 7 times), just trying to reach KIA and figure out what I needed to do. I tried calling KIA in Amarillo two times and their phone just kept ringing and ringing and ringing. No one ever answered. In the process of being passed around from person to person, I was finally put in contact with someone at the KIA center in Amarillo. I was told it would take 4 weeks just to get a diagnostic because they're backed up and understaffed. Meanwhile, I'll be out of a car for AT LEAST 4 weeks, and I won't even know if the problem is covered under warranty for those 4 weeks, so I may not get reimbursed for a rental car. It's a gamble which I cannot afford. So I'll be relying on a family member and Uber as it's much cheaper than a thousand plus dollars a month for a compact vehicle. Save your money and your time and don't buy a KIA. The endless problems will drive you insane. read more

Service department needs improvement. Their system of making an appointment for service sucks. When you take the vehicle in for your scheduled appointment they actually hold it for 2-3 weeks until they can get to it. My situation they had it for 3 weeks and still didn't get to it so they were going to keep it another 2-3 weeks. I ended up going to Gene Messer Kia of Lubbock and got it diagnosed in a couple of hours, I did have to go back because they had to order a part but I didn't have to leave my car and they did the repair in a few hours. They ordered and paid for an Uber to drop me off at the mall. (Amarillo has to find someone available on site to give me a ride home.)They were very customer friendly. I will always go back to Gene Messer Lubbock for service as long as my vehicle is drive able. The fact that Amarillo can't keep mechanics around also says a lot about the dealership. read more

I do not recommend purchasing a vehicle from this facility for they do not even have true character to even operate an honesty to what they put in front of people!!! Left my optima with the service department the last week of April, we are now into the middle of July and they haven't even started to repair it. The problem falls under an extended warranty and just found out that they haven't even attempted to contact the warranty company. The problem was diagnosed in May! They never answer the phone, never return calls. The last time I went to check on my car I had to physically go in and stood there for 25 minutes, before anyone even showed up at the service counter. Service is horrible. Always excuses to short staffing. POOR management. I highly suggest that you take into consideration the service dept. before buying a KIA, nothing but problems. Do not ever take your car to get serviced! I bought my Kia in Arkansas a few months before I moved to Texas, I have had nothing but problems. Before 30k miles I had to have a new transmission (getting it diagnosed was an absolute headache!) They do not listen or try and really trouble shoot. Then for a couple years I complained about my door handle keeping me from getting out from the drivers side, literally had to crawl out the window in their parking lot! They just kept saying they couldn't recreate the problem. I guess they got tired of me bringing it in, so they finally looked at the door handle assembly. Then I had issues with my a/c, blowing hot air sporadically, took it in a few times, of course they couldn't recreate the issue, sent me away. Finally the problem would correct at all on its own, turns put it was the clutch in the compressor, which if they had actually taken the time to diagnose they would have stumbled across that. Then right before 60k miles the screen on my radio started separating. I am not blaming them for the issues, the car the clearly came with problems. The last and final straw was this past Monday, I drove my car to a store and then I went to get back in it, it would not start. Lights came on, starter whined, but wasn't turning over. I called Pete's the next morning to see if I was still under warranty, low and behold, I was 7k miles outside of it. I called the local mechanic he towed it to his shop and then let me know the starter bolts had come out of the starter! For those of you who don't know, that does not just happen! I should have known 2 years ago with the transmission being replaced and when I got it back the heat shield fell on to the engine because they reused the one time clips to put it back on! Lazy!! Of course they denied any wrong doing. To make all of these occurrences worse...every time I called about an issue they tried to tell me it wouldn't be covered under warranty and pushed me off assuming I didn't have a warranty at all, very irritating. I assume they didn't like the warranty I had because I bought the best they had with a zero deductible. No one other that Pete's Kia has ever taken any parts off of that car and 100% you have to take the starter off in order to replace the transmission. Now, I have left 2 messages yesterday for the service manager that has not called me back and today I left a message for the General manager of the store, who almost 2 hours later as also not bothered to call me back. This is absolutely unacceptable! Kia should be ashamed and so should Pete's. I am not naive and I know things happen, cars can be faulty, but they should have made it right. I will never but another Kia and I sure as heck will not recommend them for service. You know what's even more sad? When they tried to tell me that they couldn't fix my radio, I called the Kia dealership in Lubbock, Oklahoma City, and Conway, AR who all said if I could get my car to them they would take care of it. After I told Pete's that information, they decided to actually look at my warranty and fixed it. If you can't trust the service team, you cannot trust the sales team. Buyer beware!! read more

Long story short, my experience was as good as it gets! I did not feel pressured & the salesman was transparent with me and answered all of my questions & concerns right off the bat. We had a scary thing happen coming in to Amarillo heading to Arizona. Our entire front wheel fell off while driving on the highway. My husband and I bought a 2015 Spark for our daughter and 3 days later the check engine light came on. Our daughter called the salesman and he said he spoke to the service department and long story short was told to take it to the local Chevy dealership at her expense and get it fixed. Took my Durango in to get the AC fixed. A technician David Veale diagnosed the issue within a few minutes of working on it. The condenser was replaced same day. The dealership as a whole was clean and professional. They work on all types of vehicles which is a plus. I will be coming back for any type of service. read more
