My wife and daughter have been wanting to stop here because it's literally down the street from my house and we see it everyday we decided to stop in today me and my wife ordered the same thing the pad thai country I would have to say I was actually disappointed I ordered the pad thai with pork I got chicken that had the taste of seafood I couldn't taste any flavor but seafood not sure if the seafood and other proteins are being cooked separately but it surly taste as if they were cooked in the same pan that is not good if someone has a food allergy that wasn't the only thing I was disappointed in the lady at the front who took our order was kind of rude we were very polite said hi thank you and so on and so forth im not sure if she was upset with the day or what but she didn't say a word to us just brought our food to us in to go containers and walked away but we're diner in sitting our the table I would have to say the food was not cooked properly and I didn't have very good service when I dined in here.

Hands down the best Thai restaurant in Northeast Ohio. Whenever I want comfort, it's Brown Sugar Thai. Family owned, fresh, made to order and authentic. Whether you are in the mood for sushi, pho, rice noodles, seafood...spicy, mild, vegetarian or vegan. I love the variety of the menu. My husband swears by the Thai style basil, he loves the heat. My go to is the pad sei yew with scallops. The noodles are handmade and amazing, the scallops are always fresh. Did I mention the service. It doesn't matter if the restaurant is busy the service is top notch.

I love Thai food and haven't had it in so long due to the pandemic I wanted to give these guys business and try it out. I ordered on the phone which initially threw me for a loop because they take orders for both restaurants and you have to be ready to tell them which location (Rocky River or Lakewood). They told me 10-20 minutes; I arrived in seven and it wasn't ready yet. I was encouraged to see a steady stream of customers going in/out while I waited on their outdoor patio. I assumed they would get me or contact me when the order was ready; no. After a while I went back into the restaurant and it was sitting on the counter - not sure for how long? I had pad Thai with tofu and veggies and panang curry with tofu and veggies. Both were just ok; it didn't seem to scratch my itch for Thai food though, unfortunately. I'm happy to help local restaurants but I'd probably try another place first before going back.

    Filthy windows

This place was fantastic years ago. We stopped in on Saturday for lunch. The gal at the counter said we order with her then will be called up when it's ready if we wanted to eat in. That wasn't a problem. After ordering and paying we sit down and see the sign. After looking around I wish I hadn't ordered and paid already. It was NOT clean. The windows were filthy, there were spider webs, and the sign tells me to clean up after myself when they can't be bothered to clean the seating area. I ordered chicken pad Thai "country style" so it would have some spice to it. Food was served in carry out containers. Not only was there no spice , there was no flavor. We are did not even eat a third of it and threw our meals out. Yes we cleaned up after ourselves. Never again .

A lot of really great options in the area so I figured I'd change it up and try this place out Sadly, the food to me wasn't anything spectacular and was slightly below average. We got edamame to start, which it's impossible to mess that up, salmon sashimi, and our two entrees were squid pad Thai and garlic salmon. Shouldn't have ordered salmon sashimi from a Thai restaurant. It wasn't fresh and had a bad aftertaste. Stomachs been growling up a storm -__- Garlic salmon was good, but kind of overcooked and vegetables on the plate didn't really come together. The squid pad Thai was the strangest one. I'm not sure if squid pad Thai is different but this wasn't even the same noodle you'd typically have in a pad Thai. We were served what looked like undercooked dried top ramen. All in all.. wouldn't really recommend this spot to anyone :/ there are better Thai places in Cleveland and Avon that Id personally recommend.

Took an hour at least for order to be ready for delivery. Noodles were too thick for me compared to other noodles I've had with pad see ew. Thai ice tea was great just wish the ice wasn't filled to the top so that I'm able to enjoy more of the Thai tea.

Brown Sugar has been a favorite with my family for a long time. We've gotten take out from here so many times during this whole pandemic and I just realized I never left a review. Today I got the drunken noodles with tofu for the first time and they are delicious. I will get this again. Other favorites of my family are the yellow and green curries, veggie pad Thai, and pineapple fried rice. Everything always has great flavor and pretty fast too, I can't remember it ever being more than 30min for pickup and we usually have a bigger order. I will continue to come to this restaurant!

Always a pleasure eating here! I took my parents here before they had to fly back home! They always have exceptional service!! My dad got the pad Thai, my mom got the Siam rolls, and my husband and I ordered the California maki as an appetizer and both got the lunch boxes with yellow curry chicken. The Thai iced tea is always great too!

    Chicken Country pad thai

I'm officially done with this place! I so wanted to support them and once thought they might have switched the cook or something so the food was off. However, they failed again today. I ordered the chicken country pad thai and it didn't look too appetizing. This time, it was so soggy as if the cook had poured a can of pad thai sauce in one order. All I tasted was the peanut sauce, and it was quite oily too. It left a very unpleasant aftertaste. This has gotten to be the worst pad thai that I've ever had!!! Sorry, I won't return to Brown Sugar. I'd rather drive 30 minutes to Strongsville to get authentic Thai food from Sweet Mango than throw my money out the window at Brown Sugar. I'd end up dumping my food in the trash because it's inedible.

Two page menu gave plenty of options, but it wasn't overkill like many Chinese food menus. Red curry w/ jasmine rice I ordered the Pineapple fried rice, which was delicious, w/ chicken veggies & curry & a zero spice level. Others tried: Vegetable stir fry w/ white Jasmine rice on side (spice level 1) & Yellow curry veggie (delish) with rice on side (spice level 2), & Red Curry veggie w/ rice (level 3/5). It was nice you can pick level of spice on any dish. The level 2&3 was too much for me, 1 woulda been perfect. Servers were very polite & very much on it. We sat over 2 hrs & they refilled drinks the whole time. The prices were probably in range w/ other Thai places but a tad high ($16 for ours) if I compare to a fast casual Mexican or Chinese which give just as much portion.

I took the recommendation of our server on dish and chose a nice spicy curry and was not disappointed. While it was not as spicy as I would have hoped, he told me how to order it hotter the next time. The flavor combinations and the depth of flavor was so amazing. Are crab Rangoon has outdone every other crab Rangoon I've ever had. At this point, I could name other places where I thought their crab Rangoon was amazing... And at this point they no longer even hold a candle. A nice hearty crab chunks mixed in with the cream cheese sauce and filling, and it's just to die for. The dessert of the sticky rice with mango was sweet and thick and filling and just rich beyond description. The lighting is soft and easy in the eyes, the colors on the walls are pleasant and pink and oranges and brown purples, sounds a pleasant to listen to everybody cooking in the music, while faster and hip-hop was not distracting. I quite enjoyed listening to it, listening to Thailand versions of American hits. It was quite an enjoyable experience all around. We look forward to coming back.

What I most love about this restaurant is their collaborative Lakewood spirit. They are part of Bunts to Birdtown (IG buntstobirdtown) which is a local business collaborative of businesses on Madison Ave in Lakewood. The businesses frequently host fun events - shopping crawls and scavenger hunt (such as today). I love that Thai Thai is part of this little business community and stays involved in Lakewood's social scene. I dropped in at Thai Thai for Bunts to Birdtown scavenger hunt. It was my first and much anticipated visit. The restaurant is currently not fully open and has a limited menu. Limited menu includes baos and bubble teas. It opens for full service again on Friday, August 1, 2025 (full menu and table service). The restaurant is small, has few tasteful Thai details (such as Bangkok skyline art) and neon Thai Thai sign. It's on the trendier side. My order: - Baos with roasted pork. -$6 for 2 - Good value and size! Meat was tasty and well prepared, but Bao was light on the meat. Bao had soggy bottom. - Thai bubble tea - $6 - Traditionally with milk, but they were out of milk. It was totally fine with me. Bubble tea tasted like light peach iced tea to me. It was good, but bobas were soggy. - Taro bubble tea - $6 - Pretty Instagrammable lavender color. Subtly sweet. Soggy bobas. Service was really friendly and welcoming. The owner told me that they just returned from Thailand. So it's amazing to have an authentic spot in the city! I'll stop by when full service will open and try other options on the menu to get the full experience!

We ordered the Tom Yum soup, Red Curry with chicken and Pad Kee Mao with tofu. The Tom Yum soup was great. Very flavorful and still hot after picking it up and taking it home. The red curry was super watery and flavorless. The chicken in it was very bland and the curry really had no flavor. The pad kee mao was a little better, but still not as flavorful as other Thai spots. There wasn't any spice to anything, but I wasn't asked about spice levels when ordering so that could also be on me for not saying I wanted it spicy. The veggies in both the curry and noodles were cooked really well though. There are definitely better and more consistent Thai spots in the area, so not sure that I will be back unfortunately.

When I said we didn't even touch the Pad thai and pointed at the full plate (in picture) she continued to argue that I had to pay for it since I ate the shrimp.
