This place was okay. There are many other Thai places in the area that I enjoy more. The Tom Kha was good. The red curry was very different than others I've had, and not in a positive way. I wish the peanuts in there were roasted or something though, not just thrown in from the container-they just seemed like Planter's Peanuts. I am writing this broken hearted, my family and I LOVED this restaurant so much! The interior was almost all beautiful shades of purple brilliantly done, it made the atmospheric so lovely, their authentic Thi food, omg, SO GOOD!!! I say broken hearted because this location is closing. I am so so sad to see this absolutely exquisite establishment close its doors forever. Cravings is a very intimate Thai restaurant located on Lake Road. Every time we go the service is very good and your food is served quickly. There is a patio out front and a drive thru to pick up bubble tea. Tonight I ordered the Red Curry with tofu. It only came medium spice or higher. I thought medium was perfect. My partner had the pad thai. He maintains it is the best pad thai he has had. We really enjoy this spot for an impromptu dinner. read more

I ordered takeout tonight, on Friday, 14 January 2022. This was my first time at Cravings. After ordering on the phone, I was able to pick up my order within 15-20 minutes which was very convenient. **SIDE NOTE** -- This restaurant used to share their business with a tea shop. FOOD -- I ordered the Tom Yum Soup and Shrimp Spring Rolls (read more below on each order). I was overall satisfied with my meal but when I arrived the restaurant to pay, my total bill was $20 which I thought would cost me a little over $16 based on the online menu on the restaurant's website. So, I was a bit taken aback. When I asked why my bill was high, the person I spoke to at the cash register told me that they have raised their prices. TOM YUM SOUP ($5.95 as listed on the website but it actually cost $10). Menu description -- "Thai hot and sour soup with carrots, mushrooms, tomato and cilantro. Choice of Shrimp, Chicken or Tofu." I got my bowl of soup with shrimp and it was delicious. I added a little of my own shredded carrots but I forgot that the soup comes with a good handful of carrots already. Some high points: The bowl is a very HUGE quantity so it is worth the $10. It is also flavourful, with a hint of GINGER. This soup can last you for 2 meals. There is no milk in this soup which I loved because I hate milk. After several handfuls, it begun to taste a little SWEET which is probably from the tomatoes and carrots in the soup. The sweetness made my stomach feel a bit funny but nothing bad. There were NO ONIONS in the soup which I appreciated because I hate onions. Low points: This soup cost $10 so I missed this pricing information when I called to place my order. I didn't realize I would be charged $10 because the menu states $5.95. I got a bowl instead of a cup so this is probably why the bowl costs more. FRIED SHRIMP ROLLS (6 pieces), $10.95 was the price listed on the online menu -- the Menu Description: "Shrimp marinated wrapped in a spring roll skin. Served with sweet chili sauce." ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. It was a light side dish with a perfect crunch. When you dip a shrimp roll into the sweet chili sauce, your mouth will burst with flavour. I didn't realize how small these were until I opened my order when I got home. Weirdly enough, I was charged $10 for the shrimp spring rolls instead of $10.95. The price of $10.95 was listed on the online menu. When I got to the restaurant, I honestly thought the price would have been $8.95 but $8.95 was the listed menu price for the chicken spring rolls. Although $10 is pricey for just 6 shrimp spring rolls, it is definitely worth it. Of course, shrimp is more expensive than chicken. Overall, besides the pricing mixup because they have not updated their prices on their website, I will definitely be back to support this local small business. I suggest the restaurant update their prices on their menu so not to mislead customers. I do understand that due to COVID-19, many small business had to increase their prices. I enjoyed my food which is the most important factor when I review a restaurant. The good...great beginning spring rolls. The bad...pad Thai...4 small pieces of tofu. I feel like chicken and beef would warrant this with food costs, not tofu as much. A couple strands of carrot...no onion..no basil...flavorless.. was my go to Thai food place when they were on on lake road Disappointed in the food since the move, new chef or something changed. I would normally give them a 4 star but man they do not care to satisfy the customer. I go to this restaurant often and my sister usually gets the pad kee mao and I get a curry. Well this time the pad kee mao tasted really bad, the only favor we can taste is the soy sauce and the noodles were hard. We told them and their reply was oh it's a different chef so it taste different. They didn't bother to ask if they can fix and make it taste better or replace it. Just asked if we wanted to box it up. We probably had 3 bites of it. This isn't the first time they did not care if we liked the meal or not. I've been driving by this place for years and never stopped in until recently. My husband and I were looking to try a 'new to us' restaurant and decided to finally check out Cravings. My husband and I ordered the Chicken Fried Spring Rolls, Tom Kha Soup, Chicken Noodle Soup, pineapple bubble tea and matcha green tea bubble tea. The spring rolls are delicious and have a kick of ginger in them. The bubble teas here are the consistency of a milkshake and are delightful. The Tom Kha soup is packed with flavor and veggies and is one of the best versions I have tried. The chicken noodle soup stole the show and is by far the best dish we've had in a long time. The flavor of the broth is incredible and we've ordered it for take-out since dining in. read more

Been here a hundred times for the best Thai around. Tibby & family are the best. She was in the homeland for awhile on vacation and said to my brother U WILL MISS MY COOKING!! Heat factor #5. If u know tibby she starts at 4. 5 was pretty hot it settles most in the veggies. In the curry #5 is right out for me, too hot to handle, but this dish it works. People get things hotter & it's funny to watch them deal with it. Tom got the Thai fried rice chicken which I've had many times. It's great Thai here u can't go wrong. Experiment a little with the menu. The tom yum soup has a little tomato in it, really differentiates from the rest. Lots of to-go drive thru business here. Tab for 2 of us $50 + tip. Thing about Thai food I never walk out feeling bloated. I think all the capsaicin must be good for u somehow. I ordered some boba tea from here from Uber Eats and it was good, I had requested extra boba and it didn't seem there was some, and I prefer actual tea instead of slushies/frozen drinks as it changes the texture of the boba but these were good and not too sweet. $9 for two boba teas. I know I've gotten so many requests from everyone in the comments asking me to review what my favorite Thai cuisine restaurant near RR is--well Wendy, you're in luck. This isn't just the best Thai cuisine--I am here to make the argument that this is the best restaurant on Lake Rd (gasp!). Beardens? Danny Boy's? Gourmet Guy? With all due respect, Craving Thai sends these places packin in every category, and in this 3 part review I will TELL you why (you're welcome Wendy): 1. Do you want high quality food in your mouth in 20 minutes? Call cravings Thai and in 20 min your meal is handed to you through that drive thru window. 20 minutes. Let that one sink in. The line at Chik-Fil-a takes longer than that. Next. 2. Not gonna lie I have gone here probably over 50 times but have legitimately only gotten their Pad Thai because A) I'm a basic b****, but B) it is so delicious that after the first time I had it, there was no longer an option to try anything else because I just endlessly crave that pad Thai (just another unrequited love to keep me up at night). Medium spice is my go-to; huge portion for the price--perfect for leftovers. Their other options are probably great too, and even though I haven't tried them, I trust this place so much that I recommend them. Period. 3. They're a nice restaurant with a drive thru--pick up? A breeze. A quick boba tea on the go (mango please!)? Easy-peazy. The inside is awesome too. A cafe during the day and a cute restaurant at night. It doesn't get much better than that folks. This place has 2 different Yelp pages which may be because it was a coffee shop and is now a Thai restaurant AND coffee shop? Either way, it's a great place that shouldnt be missed so I'm posting my review for both pages. I've been to Cravings twice and have really enjoyed my meals. The first time I stopped in for lunch. The lunch menu is much smaller than the dinner menu. I was craving curry and didn't see it on the menu. I asked if they had it at lunch and they said they would be happy to make it for me, and my dining companion as well. We tried red and green curry. Both were some of the best curries we've had. This place was instantly a new favorite. I came back for dinner last weekend and brought the whole family. We all tried the green curry again, jungle curry, and tom yum soup. I always order Tom Yum at Thai places and this has been one of, if not the, best Tom Yum I've ever had. The soups and curries come in a large cup-like bowl. It doesn't look huge, but as soon as you start eating you realize it is like a never-ending bowl. Especially if you've ordered it Thai hot, like I always do. My face was literally dripping with sweat as I ate the entire bowl of "8 on a scale of 1-10" spice. I loved it. I would suggest something around 5-6 if you just want a regularly spiced meal. My dad ordered a 6 and his was pretty spicy too. The dinner menu is actually quite extensive. There are several pages of entrees with photos (very helpful!) to choose from. We tried the calamari appetizer to share. It was ok. I wasn't really a fan of the fried breading as it was thicker than usual but I would not let it discourage me from ordering a different appetizer next time. Oh, and another perk is that the ladies who work here are SUPER nice. Very attentive and always checking to make sure you are enjoying your meal. The only negative I see is that the menu is a little on the pricey side, even at lunch. Not extreme for Thai food, but around $15-$20 for a curry dish (depending on choice of meat or veggies), $10 for Tom Yum soup, almost $20 for some of the other entrees. For the location of the place (ie not downtown or anything) I went in assuming it wouldn't be expensive at all, but obviously I went back and will go back, so I think the quality of the experience makes it worth it. Very nice folks and clean inside. Unfortunately the pungent smell of cooking oil permeated everything (air/food/clothes/hair) and was unbearable. I ordered something to go, and after 5 minutes had to go sit outside because the smell was making me sick. The dinner I ordered had a terrible oil after taste. Maybe ate 1/2 and had to dispose of it. We live nearby and order from Cravings prety often. I have never been disappointed. The thai money bags (appetizer) is one of my favorites although a bit pricey. My husband and I crave the laab. The tom yum soup is also great. No idea how authentic it all is, but it's delicious. read more
