It was located within a plain, grey plaza. Because we were on vacation on June 7, 2024, we had to pop in... oh, who am I kidding? We would have anyway. For such a small shop, they sure offer quite an assortment of chocolates. My youngest chose a starfish and a sea turtle. They were $2.50 apiece. I chose a key lime cream in milk chocolate. A Dutchie (caramel/peanuts). And a sea salt caramel in dark chocolate. They were all so smooth and decadent. Not cheap, but very much worth it. Service was a bit slow that day. After we had made our choices and I paid, the young woman working that drizzly afternoon offered a piece each on the house. Lol. That was a bit backwards if she was trying to get more sales! I tried a blueberry cream in white chocolate. Its richness and creaminess took me by surprise. I would definitely recommend it. Afterwards, I did some research on this little place. I love the story that the owners posted on the Yelp page. It's not hard to believe that they once held the title of "Best Homemade Chocolate in America!"

We were greeted when we walked in and asked by the owner if we could be helped. My daughter told her that she remembered that they had chocolate rats. The owner told us that they didn't have any made but if we could wait for a few minutes, she could make some up. We looked around while we waited and saw a lot of delicious goodies which looked very tempting but I had a big birthday cake waiting for me at home so refrained.

The shop is cute with little knick knacks and snacks along the wall. You are able to sample a few flavors as well. My main issue is that there is no seating besides a bench outside the door. But under the scorching sun of SoFlo, eating ice cream just becomes a sticky mess. I wish they could put in couple of small tables, or even just benches, inside the front part of the shop.

My older daughter is very picky and was looking for something special. She wanted strawberry chocolate, and one of the associates (I wish I knew her name!) kindly suggested a milk chocolate bar with strawberries and tiny crispy pearls inside. My daughter absolutely loved it! That employee was amazing--so patient, thoughtful, and genuinely caring. A special thank you to her for making our visit extra memorable. Another thing that impressed me was the packaging. Everything was wrapped so beautifully and felt very luxurious. The sturdy paper bag with the Läderach logo, the elegant tissue paper, and even a complimentary greeting card made the whole experience feel extra special. The employees offered samples of one of their Raspberry Cream Dark Chocolate treats. I immediately took her up on the offer and loved the creamy chocolate delightful hit to my thankful palate and brain. The giant chocolate covered strawberries, pretzels and marshmellows definitely drew my attention. Several items were specifically designed for Valentines Day including the long stem chocolate roses and the pink heart shaped boxes of chocolates. Good assortment of chocolate treats with a strong emphasis on customer service is a strong combo and I will return.
