The name says it all. These guys make brownies. And blondies, which for you non-Americans, are exactly what they sound like they are - blonde brownies. I think they sell coffee and cakes as well, but who cares? Lots of places sell those. And yes, lots of other places in London also sell brownies, but how many of them SPECIALIZE in brownies?

    Well, have you?

Brownie Box offers a dangerously tempting combination of top-quality brownies and other cakes at competitive prices. Do not be fooled by the innocuous shop front: inside lurk plenty of delights to test even the most determined healthy eater. There are big cakes and small, brownies and blondies (brownies with white chocolate), croissants, pains au chocolat, and even Brownie Box's take on the Cronut craze - the Bronut (brownie and doughnut). There is also a good range of tea, coffee and fruit drinks to accompany your chosen treat with. So why the five stars? Two reasons: quality and price. Brownies occupy a crowded marketplace in London, with loads of bakers temporary and permanent offering their punts at brownie domination. Some are good, many are poor. The brownies found at Brownie Box are superb: moist, not too sweet, and varied too. I sampled the Ferreo Rocher version, a blondie, the legendary bronut and a cookies and cream brownie. All were excellent. In a fit of gluttony I also tried a mini strawberry, raspberry and white chocolate muffin and later, a pain au chocolat and croissant after Brownie Box pressed them into our hands rather than throw them away. Again, fantastic, the croissant and pain au chocolat surprisingly so given the brownie emphasis here. The service was great - friendly, helpful (allowing us to use the staff toilets) and quick. And there's a Yelp check-in deal here of a free hot drink with purchases over £5. Overall? The place to go for cake fixes of any kind.

Oh my gosh, a chocolate lover's dream and the most amazing brownies I have had in a long time! Whether you are craving a gooey brownie, a sweet blondie or even a bright red velvet version, this place is for you! Be warned though, these treats are incredibly rich. They may look small, but they pack a punch. We were barely able to finish the two treats per person we had ordered. Extra special recommendation: the Ferrero Rocher cheesecake, it's moist and smooth and delicious, but not as heavy and rich as the brownies.

Craving a sweet pastry & a cappuccino for breakfast I swiped open my trusty Yelp app and went to work. Brownie for breakfast? Why not, I am on vacation. Red Velvet Brownie for breakfast? Even better. The Brownie Box is a cute little shop in the Earl's Court neighborhood. They make all their goodies from scratch every day, so the choices in the case may vary on your visit. The ladies running the shop are quite dear & charming. I would stop by every day on my way to work if I lived in the neighborhood. When I went back again before we left, I tried the bronut. What's that you ask? A brownie & a donut all in one pastry. It was delicious and I would gain 100 pounds if someone in Jacksonville learns to make the same thing.,

Very reasonably priced hot drinks away from City Center, and hands down, the absolute best coconut macaroon I've ever tasted. It falls apart like shaved snow in your mouth, sweet without being obnoxiously overpowering, with a chewy exterior that holds it all together. Topped with a candied piece of fruit, it's a great accompaniment to an espresso or cup of tea in the afternoon. Reasonably priced as well at 80p takeout, £1 eat-in.

Cakes here are baked with passion and pride; this is evident in the superb way they are presented and in their excellent taste. Their most popular cake is the red velvet cake which is a sight for sore eyes. Simple yet beautifully done the sponge is perfectly soft and moist with mouth-watering flavour and the exterior and filling is delicately balanced. The cakes here are freshly baked every day and I know this to be true as I can taste subtle variations in sweetness on different days. The wonderful quality and range of cakes on offer are such that even though the red velvet cake is fantastic my favourite cake from them is actually another one: the passionfruit topped cheesecake. This is sublime as it melts in the mouth and is perfectly light as a cheesecake should be. The passionfruit layer includes seeds so it gives the cake another interesting texture. There are plenty of other delights available including brownies and even baked goods tailored to different diets such as gluten-free, nut-free, dairy-free, etc. The decor and atmosphere in the cafe is fabulous; homely with intricate details. The staff are also very friendly and visibly excited by what they do.

Had a piece of cake. Cake was dry. White icing wasn't good. And it was a very expensive piece of cake.

Moments later a gentleman came out and said he made space for us. We were thankful for the gesture so we canceled our Uber immediately. Thankfully we did because the service, food and atmosphere was great! Service is fast, but not rushing. The folks working seemed to be working together and helping each other out. The same gentlemen who came outside to offer us a table was one of the best employees I have seen. He was courteous and friendly. I could see and hear him going out of his way talking to customers and making sure everything was okay. Four our meal, our party of four ordered two steak sandwiches plates, a scrambled egged plate and a chicken salad. Each plate was delicious. My salad was so filling yet light. My husbands steak was so juicy and tender. Our course I tried my nieces egg plate too and the first I noticed was how perfectly the scrambled eggs were cooked. We finished off with some "breakfast dessert." I'll say, they are a meal in itself but very very good. Juices and coffee were good too. There is good food in London but the top notch service here is what gives it a five star!

The dinner menu doesn't have much options and it's all very common British food. We got the burger which is surprisingly expensive. Everything taste great but the beef patty is a bit lacking flavor. We also got the fish with barley risotto. The risotto is quite hard and you can literally taste every piece of barley. But my preference in risotto is rather creamy so this is not for me. The fish is nicely seared tho and they give quite a big piece. The wait staff was really nice and attentive. There's not a lot of customers on a Thursday night so I don't reckon the service would be that bad. And the food come pretty quickly.

QUESTION: Where can you go to get a five-star hotel's afternoon champagne tea for £20?…read more ANSWER: The Wyndham Grand at Chelsea Harbour. It's as simple as that, folks. Because of the Wyndham Grand's out-of-the-way Imperial Wharf location, you, too, could enjoy the epic spread of afternoon tea (with posh finger sandwiches, two homemade warm raisin scones with clotted cream and jam and a spread of individually sized sweet pastries and other treats - too much food for a single person to reasonably consume, I assure you) along with a glass of bubbly at a leisurely pace whilst taking in the view of the harbour and its (billionaires') boats. I'm not entirely sure why the afternoon tea is so cheap, but it is. Tea without champagne is a measly 15 quid. I booked a place for tea online and arrived to a quiet lounge area at 3:00pm, with Sunday brunch winding down in the adjacent restaurant. The table was set, and the polished and besuited server greeted me graciously. The low-seated couches and armchairs were large and cosy, and my companions and I sipped, munched, supped and gluttonously indulged for THREE HOURS. Service wasn't without its faults: the server was a bit nervous for whatever reason, but she was certainly friendly and gracious; my first pot of tea was loose leaf, as one would expect of afternoon tea at a five-star hotel, but my second pot had a teabag chucked in (although said tea in teabag was aromatic and delicious); water and/or tea refills weren't forthcoming, but the server would have fetched these things if asked. Despite these lapses in service (nit-picky though they are), overall, the experience and value for money were outstanding. SUMMARY: Go here if you're a local, you want an indulgent yet inexpensive afternoon tea, you don't want to combat crowds of tourists who may or may not think that the clotted cream belongs in their teacups.* _______________________________________________________ *Although I do know that by posting this review the afternoon tea at the Wyndham Grand may very well become more busy than it was on my first visit, I remain confident that it will maintain its atmosphere of exclusivity due to its less-accessible location.
