I had scheduled an appointment for the end of the week, but was checking to see availability almost daily. The team never made me feel like it was an imposition and their policy of cancelling 4 hours ahead was reassuring. But as I saw my dog decline day by day, and the morning off he didn't want to eat - I decided to called early morning hours to see if there was availability that day. Dr. Karen Vine was patient, compassionate and empathetic, walking me thru step by step the process. And her examination of my dog made it more reassuring I was making the right choice at the right time.

She gently walked us through every step of the process, explained what to expect, and gave us all the time and space we needed. Her calm presence and kindness made all the difference and it was because of such a positive first experience working with Dr. Hensley that it was no question who we would work with when we had to say goodbye to our second baby. Choosing an in-home service allowed our dogs to be comfortable and surrounded by love, and we are so grateful for the peaceful goodbye they were given. I would give 5+ stars without hesitation to Restful Paws and would recommend them to anyone facing one of the hardest decisions a pet parent has to make.

Ruby had her first TPLO surgery in August 2025 and the second in October 2025. It was expensive but we're thrilled... we got our Ruby back! She's walking, running, having fun at the beach - all pain free. Our family is once again making memories with our girl. I highly recommend Sage and the TPLO procedure.

I had a very difficult experience with this SAGE emergency vet services, and I feel conflicted…read moreabout how to review them because there were both compassionate and deeply frustrating aspects of my time with them. First, I want to acknowledge that the staff were kind, gentle, and clearly cared about both me and my cat. During an incredibly emotional time, they treated us with empathy, and I'm grateful for that. However, my cat was in renal failure, and I don't feel that I was ever given a clear or honest understanding of how serious her condition truly was. I was repeatedly told that her situation was treatable, particularly once she started eating again. She ended up staying there for three nights, and while I was told she had begun eating at the clinic, when I brought her home she still wasn't eating and was in very poor condition. What's most difficult for me is that she passed away the day after I brought her home, after I had spent nearly $16,000 on her care. Looking back, I strongly wish someone had been more candid with me about her prognosis and whether euthanasia might have been the most humane option. I feel like I wasn't given the information I needed to make an informed decision about her end-of-life care. I don't doubt the compassion of the staff, but I do wish there had been clearer communication and more medical guidance during such a critical time. For anyone going through something similar, I would encourage asking very direct questions about prognosis and quality of life, as I wish I had been guided more firmly in that direction.

After the vaccinations, she weighed Emmy and told me she was a bit overweight. She suggested the right amount of food for her, and (fingers crossed) Emmy's will have lost a little when I take her in again for her annual checkup. I felt very well taken care of. It wasn't a cheap visit, but not at all expensive. I'll definitely be back.

Our dog died in her sleep in early 2020, we called the practice and asked for advice (we hadn't experienced this type of loss before). Their staff were very abrupt and told us to call the pet cremation place in Daly City. No word of sorry for your loss, or inquiry into who their patient was that had died. Kind of cold and callus. I wrote to the management after as it wasn't a good look for them. Since then there has been a decent turnover of vets and their staff continue to be rude to the customers. Yesterday was the final straw for me. I took my dogs for their annual check up and one of my dogs had just had a lump appear on his paw. I asked about it as it he was constantly licking it. I was told it was a wart and that it could be taken off when he has a minor procedure that is required soon. When I was paying, I was told that I need to come back and pay for another visit just to diagnose the wart. I tried explaining that the vet had already looked at it just now and was met with a comment of "that was a freebie, now you have to come back for the official diagnosis." Sorry, you just told me that it was a wart that could be removed later, no need to spend another $100 just to be told the same. I said no thanks and that I would take it somewhere else and was promptly told that all my records for both dogs would be emailed and that was that. They fired me as a client. Gotta say, Thank You, that saved me calling to get them, I needed that push to find a nicer vets. I hear that the new place on El Camino in San Carlos is great, can't wait to give it a try. Shame really, we had been at Whipple for 15 years. Great way to lose a client. Glad that I don't run my business this way.

Brought my 6 month old kitten to Dr.Stanton because we saw so many great reviews. We had concerns…read moreover our kitten's bad breath. Dr.Stanton dismissed our concerns and asked if it was my first time ever owning a cat, seemingly finding humor over our concern. After we told him that our previous cat received an injection for the symptoms they share in common, he bragged about his 30 years experience in the field and said he's never heard about an injection to help with bad breath before. The injection was an antibiotic that helped with our previous cat's gum infection, so we mentioned this to Dr.Stanton. He didn't think there was anything wrong with my kitten's bad breath and said that an injection would be too "invasive." We took our kitten to another vet for a second opinion. His gums were obviously swollen and he had an infection. This new vet addressed our concerns, gave him an antibiotic injection, and our kitten is healthy again and we can now enjoy his fresh breath kisses! Foul odor in the mouth isn't normal and is something that should be taken seriously.
