My turn: When I responded that I was returning in the package it came in, the older woman behind the counter said: "That's impossible!" in a terrible voice. There is a long line usually because they are trying to upsell every customer, go ahead and take a look/listen while awaiting your turn to be admonished here. With just a couple of hours of wiggle room I tried to place an order with this FedEx online and was seeing that pickup wouldn't be available until the next morning. I gave them a call and asked if they could potentially have my order done in the time frame needed. They were a little nervous about the turnaround but much to my happiness, they were able to pull it off! The team here was on top of the order and so helpful over the phone and saved the day. On the other hand, the manager and her staff at the Lynnwood UPS Store spoke with me trying so hard to help out. Those were nice folks and quite professional. I can't say the same about the people at the Everett UPS Store. They showed that they were unconcerned and did not have the time of day to help resolve this blunder. When I walked in, the person at the counter measured/weighted my package but quoted me over $10 more than USPS for the same ground shipping. When I said "wow, why so much?", he replied back with "It would be the same at the post office" which is not the case because I just returned from the post office. And they also won't tell you that USPS' flat rate shipping boxes are cheaper than what they quoted me. I told him, I'll just take it back to the post office during normal business hours. When I returned home and I told my wife about this experience, she said warned me about this place as they tried charge her $1 to print a label for prepaid postage. I understand small businesses need to make some profit in order to stay in business but marking up 30% to 40% more than post office is probably not a good business strategy knowing USPS is one block away and UPS is just across the lot inside Staples. As much as I would like to support small businesses, I won't be coming back here again. Lesson learned.
