Veggie burger was surprisingly delicious with a beautifully fresh and airy but toasty bun. Patty was a little tasteless - but it's a veggie burger after all lol... Came to this Brown's for first time for a b'day party. They seated us in the outdoor area with two large fire pits and comfortable patio furnishings. Combined with overhead heaters and clear plastic walls it was plenty warm enough. Service was good and everyone seemed to enjoy their order. No complaints. If you're looking for after work drinks or food, then this is a good place w tv, dim lighting and good food. Their drinks are usually fine as well. The decor is nice and the hostess is very friendly and pretty as well. She was nice and professional the entire time. I would recommend the tacos or burgers. The Tahitian tuna is one of my favorite. I've had their steak and burger and wings as well before and are pretty good. I would recommend brunch as well. They have many healthy options as well. The Oreo jar and key lime pie are great as well. However I would give them a low rating due to the poor turn of service with lack of smile or politeness. At the end our waitress was no where to be found even though she saw us sitting there waiting for her. She had just picked up the shift and might have thought since the tips don't go to her or have to be split, still no way to treat anyone much less your customer. Totally agree with CC that this definitely gives Big Ridge a head's up! I'm currently working on contract near Hwy 10 and 152, so it's always a challenge to find a quick lunch spot -- and I'm thrilled to have Brown's on the top of my list! I've been there twice and both times the food was stellar and the service perfect. The first time I had the blackened halibut burger and super-good salad, and the second time I had a lunch sized salad with braised tofu. My friends all tried different things, from burgers to bowls and everything looked soooooo good! Fresh, perfect portions and super healthy. Next time I go, I'm going to have the halibut bowl that comes with salad and rice, but I'll order the low carb version which substitutes the rice for shredded and dressed cabbage with fresh goat cheese. (BTW, he's from England not Australia...but he doesn't take him personally if you get the two confused!) The atmosphere, even on a Wednesday night, was super fun and social. I like a place where there's good music playing, but not so loud that you can't carry on a conversation. We didn't try any food on this visit, but the plates they were bringing out for other customers looked delicious. Matt made us a couple of ahhhmazing Bellini's and a round of tasty B52's. Staff could be more friendly and less like they hate their lives. Food presentation could be better. I feel like I'm being served food at Denny's when I eat here. Very basic food presentation. Wine glasses need to be wiped out and polished with a clean towel before being served to a customer. White soap reside on the glass is unappealing. Staff could be more attentive and take empty plates away and ask if customers want refills. Service is just not up to par. I know this place is not supposed to be 5 star, but it's barely 2 star. Browns has a very relaxed atmosphere. The food and drinks were great and the music was awesome. They played a mix of old school and new hip hop which is my favourite! All the staff was friendly, the service was good. There is an outdoor patio where i will be sitting on hot summer days. They also have tvs at the bar so it would be a great place to watch games. I bought a groupon recently which was $12 for $24 worth of food, i bought two thinking i could use them both at the same time. But i guess i didnt read the fine print - you can only use 1 groupon for two people or 2 groupons for 4 people. Just something to look out for if you bought their groupon. read more

I'm probably one of the few people who hasn't been to a Brown's (or if I have been, it was years ago), but my first visit of memory was when visiting a friend in Panorama Ridge a couple of weeks ago. We started the evening off right with some tasty white sangria. The beverage itself was good, although it could have used more chunks of real fruit. Aside from that, I really like the variety on the menu (variety in the sense that there were tons of gluten free options), and I also like the lighter offerings. I had the blackened chicken which came with the cowgirl salad and jasmine rice. It was enough that you were more than satisfied, but didn't leave you feeling uncomfortably full. The chicken was moist and tasty, and the salad contained lots of tasty morsels. Our server was fine but definitely seemed bored with her job and not motivated at all. So on to the inevitable comparison between Brown's and its neighbour, Big Ridge Brew House. They both feel quite "commercial" and "chain restaurant"-like, both have TVs showing sports, and both have varied menus with lots of beer on tap, but Brown's definitely goes for a more upscale, sophisticated atmosphere, whereas Big Ridge is more a "pub" - darker, slightly more casual, with pool tables etc. I like the lighter, airier ambience at Brown's, and the patio looked pretty kick ass, too. Nice to know there are lots of other options I can try on the menu next time I'm visiting my friend and basically have one of two restaurants to choose from! read more

The service was not good, guess if you wear enough make up and tall high heels getting the order correct, checking on your tables and having personality is overlooked. My order was wrong, so was husbands (so not sure what she was writing down while taking the order), she never did bring me a water let alone check to see if I wanted another beer (would have been nice, maybe after a few beers this place seems better?). We went somewhere afterwards to get another beer (unfortunate to have stopped here in the first place), and receive a novel thing called service even with a smile! P.S. Bizarre experience. Sat at the bar ordered a beer from this strangely rude bartender. Asked for a menu 3 times he finally gave me one. He then turned his back to me I said excuse me several times he then left. 10 minutes later no one has come back to the bar. I am about to phone the place to see if someone can take my order. But I catch the eye of a waitress who takes my order. The bartender comes back and when I complain he just shrugs and says I should have ordered from her anyway. It was a rude and frankly intimidating experience. I cancelled my order and left as it was just bizarrely tense. I did complain to a manager who simply shrugged. With the general decline in civility, I really appreciate the polite good manners of the staff here. I also really like their food and how flexible the menu is - for instance, I recently had the shrimp and chicken pad thai and was encouraged to go ahead and substitute tofu or more shrimp for the chicken (I am a pescetarian, which means I don't eat birds or animals, but it's YES to seafood). I have to say that this place is always busy and the food is pretty much always great. I love the patio with their wonderful couches covered in pillows and the fire pit tables. It is a great place for a comfortable brunch or late night drinks. The staff is wonderful. The management team is always very helpful and always courteous. I would say that it does get quite loud if you are there on a Thursday/ Friday/ Saturday night. The atmosphere definitely changes to a more bar like feel then a relaxing restaurant. So this time I ordered the eggs bendict.. now if you order that from this place prepare to be disappointed.. bang for your buck .. nope it's supposed to come with prosciutto not a bacon sized sliver but large enough to taste. If you want better food there is an a and w right next door and you won't be gouged $35.00 for a snack. For a better meal it will cost you $20 bucks and good news if you want drinks there is a cold beer right next to that. I have multiple food intolerances, and gave a list of foods I cannot eat to the server when she first visited the table. She treated my problem with respect. She checked back many times both to discuss the dishes I could eat and the dish's preparation. The dish was delivered by the manager. It was lovely in both looks and tastes, and something created just for me. Ok, lets talk Peach Bellini's. So many many restaurants try to blend this slushy drink with a blender. No good. You end up with large chunks of ice that melt to water. Browns serve it up right. They have a slushy machine that keeps Bellini's on tap all the time. They come served with a fuzzy peach on the side. Well suited because that's just what they taste like! A great drink.
