We came here about 20 years ago and did not have a good experience but thought that we would give it another try. The server we had was very nice and interacted with us well. The food was better than we remembered. But they do not have the prices listed beside the beer on their menu. Thinking that they would be comparable to other pubs in the area, I ordered an IPA and then another when our food arrived. When we got the bill I noticed that the 2 beers were $23. I inquired and was told that the amount included the tax. Now liquor tax being 10% that means that they were charging about $10.50 for a pint that most other pubs charge $8.50-$9.00 for. Too rich for my taste. We might be back in another 20 years. The next pub that does not have the prices on the menu, I will ask before I order. There are lots of pubs around that serve good food and have polite servers. read more

Went here recently for some beers with friends. Ordered the $25 nachos for a snack. What arrived was poor execuse for nachos -- barely any cheese or toppings. Checked under the top layer of chips, hardly any cheese anywhere below. This was probably one of the weakest plates of nachos I've ever had. Charging $25 for something like this should be a crime! Will never recommend the nachos here, they were pathetic. Service was lacklustre as well, waitress seemed disinterested in her job, no smiles or greeting, just "What's your order?" I was at the pub today and normally I'm satisfied with everything they offer but today left me with a bad taste in my mouth because of the service that I received. I didn't receive my food when I had ordered at the same time as my friends and they got theirs. I feel that the server didn't own up to her mistake and this lead to us getting kicked out which left me feeling like the staff acted like they were entitled instead of owning up to the situation and losing revenue because of it. I'm 59 and I've never experienced this before. It makes me feel hurt. We didn't deserve that, we are patrons, be happy that we are there and treat us with respect 'cause we deserve it!!!!!! read more

I came here for a friends birthday on a saturday evening. At first, i was like ... girl why here. But i was pleasantly surprised. The service was good, a little on the slow side but nice. Drinks were a bit watered down (i had a paloma), but only $8 and i'm assuming thats a double, at this day and age, $8 is a "good deal". Now for the food - We got some appys to share and was really impressed with the chicken nuggets and salt and pepper wings, both fresh and juicy, and the sauces served with them were GOOD. Came by on the Harley for a quick beer, sat at the bar. Bartender Ashley was quite literally one of the best I've experienced in years. Very friendly and outgoing. And really in tune w her customers. The lady sitting beside me seemed to be having a tough day. Right away Ashley seemed to notice and asked her how things were. When the customer indicated her day was tough, Ashley immediately empathized and chatted w her. When the customer asked for her bill, Ashley informed her that she personally was paying her bill and wished her all the best. I was completely impressed. I like this pub. The prime rib is great. They are know for their burgers. The restaurant is clean and the service is good. Lots of locals at this pub and it is usually pretty busy. Definitely a great place to hang out with friends and enjoy a meal. Pool table is a popular area. They could improve in their selection of beers. I went here to have a beer and a nice dinner. The beer; was beer.. I wasn't looking for anything special so I won't include that in my review. I ordered the Shepard's pie with a side salad. The salad was to come with a oil and balsamic dressing. I will admit the Shepard's pie was very tasty. Nice gravy and a great blend in their mince. Soooo that was the good. Now the bad... the server was very emotionless (if you need a visual... a blonde middle aged lady), she never even smiled at me once. It was like she just had a recent round of botox and couldn't move her face. I don't know maybe my jokes aren't that funny... ;-). but really, it was like being served by an Unsullied Warrior (sorry... Game of Thrones reference); basically no emotion. Second point, now this isn't really a review of the salad as really who cares. But when I went to bite into the salad the dressing was clearly pure oil... there was no balsamic within. When I talked to the server she mentioned that it was White Balsamic and I wouldn't really taste it... OOOOkay. So that is my review. Take it for what you want. I won't be back. read more

As far as pubs go the Murrayville is pretty alright. I appreciate a bar with dark interior and wood everywhere, if there's carpet it's even better. The place isn't huge but it's big enough to service the local area. I've been there on a couple of occasions now, most recently for a fundraiser (which it appears they do a fair number of). The drink specials are listed on a board beside the bar and are Ok. Nothing to write home about. On my last trip I ordered The Wedge salad. A quarter iceberg lettuce with an accoutrement of veggies with loads of bacon and blue cheese dressing. Cumbersome to eat but petty good. The staff are great although the regulars there don't make you feel overly welcome (vis-à-vis Cheers) you'll find a comfortable seat at a table or in the pool room. read more

When we came here, it wasn't great. We'll likely give it another chance, because it's so close to our home, but it failed to deliver the first time. The waitstaff were busy, and you could tell - they rushed us a bit and then took their time bringing the bill. They weren't super friendly, either. Our food was mediocre. This place is a great little bar in murrayville. Wings here are awesome and on their wing night it's 5 bucks. What gets me here is they give you a finger bowl to wash your fingers. Awesome. The burgers are amazing here. Finding a good burger joint in Langley has taken time and now anytime we Wanna get a burger... Here is where it's at They need to get better fries. Their fries are not the greatest. Thebside salad substitute is okay and the soup I had the one time was more of a thick gravy (beef and barley) with not to much beef. Lol I ended up dipping fries in it as a gravy that night. Anyways. Good times here with pool and cheap drinks as well. read more

The owner of this establishment has a big heart. We were recently in the pub and discovered that the pub was holding a fundraiser for one of their patrons that had recently been diagnosed with cancer. For $20 we were expecting a burger and a beer, not - we were able to order any cocktail cooler or beer we wanted. And the "Burger" turned out to be the most tender tasty roast beef I have ever enjoyed. Self served with salads and rolls. They also put on a wonderful Sunday brunch. I was here for my mother in law's and we only got one ate of food.. They apparently said to me that they were taking the food away at 6pm but no one came up to me and said anything! My wife and I ate here yesterday and we were both disappointed. The server was friendly but would cycle between attentive and indifferent. The real issue was with the food which in both our cases was bland and in my wife's order not what the menu said it was going to be. High priced - small beers - lacklustre dishes.
