This is a pretty good restaurant and I recommend making reservations. We went on a Sunday and picked up right at lunch/after church time. Our server (Shanna?) was very nice and accommodating to our group. The lunch specials are a good deal. I found the food and portion for price was affordable. Calamari was light and crispy, lamb souvlaki was tender and chicken souvlaki was ok. Overall - I found it a bit salty though to my liking. I would be interested in trying their other dishes (kleftiko and roast lamb) but I won't necessarily rush back. I'd like to give it a 3.5/4 really as the other members in my group enjoyed their time and food. read more

We haven't been to Poseidon since they made the move across the street from their old location, which frankly was looking pretty tired. The new spot seems more open and has some seating outside, but you wouldn't know it was a Greek place when you walk in the door. We were greeted with enthusiasm by the staff and quickly seated in a comfortable booth. Poseidon has the typical Greek fare for lunch and dinner with Souvlaki's being one of our favourites. You get a chance to try everything from the potato, to the rice, and salad as well as the protein of choice. I opted for the chicken souvlaki and the lovely K the lamb souvlaki. Both plates were plentiful, very tasty, and large enough that a to go box was necessary. We actually planned it that way to make a lunch during the next couple of days. Our server Athena, was excellent throughout the process, just attentive enough, without being intrusive. We'd go back just to be served by her, and to enjoy the good food. If we could give a 4.5 stars we would do that, but alas we cannot. A little work on the decor, and it's a home run! read more

Initial impression is disappointing. The new location is much nicer than the cheesy place across the street. After seating ourselves and physically finding chairs to sit outside, server arrived a few minutes later with 1 menu for 2 people. No water or beverages were offered until after we ordered. I am observing that they may be a little short staffed but you can't start taking shortcuts on service. As I'm writing this, a table got fed up with the wait and got up and left with their menu's still on the table. The atmosphere feels relaxed with lots of chatter outside, so it feels like a hometown favourite dining place. I've ordered the Kalamaria dinner and my partner ordered the Mousaka. There was supposed to be some options on soups, salads and sides but the server neglected to even offer the options and just immediately left after we ordered. I'm hearing tables around us getting their orders wrong as well. I think this place needs a management refresh pronto before it fails. As for the food, it was average. The lemon potatoes were a bit too soft, the calamari was a good texture crisp but needs a touch more salt. The Tzatziki dip did not taste house made and was a thick goop. I really enjoyed the Mousaki the most as I've never had it before but it was full of good flavours. read more

Absolutely love Poseidon Greek in Langley, BC! I've been there twice now, and both visits were exceptional. From the warm, inviting atmosphere to the attentive service, everything was on point. The hummus here is a standout - incredibly garlicky, full of flavor, and with just the right hint of a bite from the garlic. It's the best hummus I've ever had hands down. The lamb dishes are also phenomenal, cooked perfectly and bursting with flavor. I've never had a bad meal here, and it's hands-down my top recommendation for dining in Langley. I was pretty disappointed with the food and service here. When we asked to sit outside on the patio, they told us to seat ourselves and we had to grab our own chairs and move the table. It seemed like many of the servers were not having a good day as we saw one table walk up and leave before they placed their order and overheard a couple other tables complained that they messed up their order. You're supposed to have the option of a soup or a salad with each entree, but our server must've forgot as we both got salads, which was fine bc it's what we wanted anyways. I got the Mousaka while my fiancé got the kalamaria platter. I thought the sides could have been perfected better considering it's something that comes with every meal. The green beans were soft and tasted like it was splattered onto your plate in the lunch line meanwhile the carrots were much harder than the green beans. I personally didn't care for the lemony rice or potatoes. It just didn't do it for me. The mousaka itself was pretty decent. I've never had it before so it was new to me, but again I was not amazed. The bread that comes with our meals were good on the other hand. At the end of everyone's meals they give out this gross licorice hard candy that I saw no one took. It was my mistake to even try it. A simple peppermint would've been better. read more

After a long day at Garibaldi Lake and it's surrounding areas on June 11th of 2023, I drove all the way down to Langley to check into my Travelodge room. After all that, I decided to dine at a local restaurant. I decided on the Greek one since it didn't have the type of food since the late 2010s, where I lived in the Detroit area. I ordered the moussaka entree. It's a casserole made with ground beef, eggplant, potato, and zucchini. The entree came with rice, potatoes, carrots, green beans, and a side of bechamel sauce. I also got an appetizer of Greek salad, where it's mostly tomatoes, cucumbers, and feta cheese. I got a loaf of pita bread as well. Unlike other places, this one was thick and fluffy. It was still good. The service was quick and courteous. The restaurant interior was beautiful, and it did have outdoor dining as well. The dinner was around $28 CAD / $21 USD. The portions were quite large. Thus, I took a lot of food back to the motel. I had my leftovers the following morning before seeing Stanley Park and starting my drive back to Colorado. read more

My friend and I were staying at a local hotel and just finished a 7 hour roadtrip across the border. We were starving, but didn't want to eat unhealthy so we ordered takeout from here. It was ready for pick up in 20 minutes. We were greeted at the door and our order was ready as they said over the phone. I happened to check in on Yelp and they had a 10% offer for pick up orders. When I presented it to them, they didn't know what it was so we proceeded for me to pay the bill. As I was paying, the chef/manager was on the phone to check if they could honor the Yelp offer and they were able to give it to me! This is an amazing place for delicious food!! I found them via reviews on yelp and must say I was a little worried when I walked up: it comes across a little divey, and a bit run down, BUT the service and food were incredible!! They were hot, fresh, and flavourful! The serving sizes were nothing short of HUGE! We have a h doggy bag to take home. Our server was also super on point. Very friendly; quick, and always ensured we had full drinks and pita! I would definitely recommend this place, without hesitation. We were seated upstairs in a small table with no one else around us so it was very private and nice the server Shanna was really nice helpful and above all a good server. Two words... Roast Lamb. They do a number of great dishes here like the appetizer dips and the calamari (super fresh, not at all rubbery), but I want to give a huge shout-out to the roast lamb. Come on Thursday evenings, the lamb is on special. It roasts all damn day, spiced to perfection, the shank is served in a roasting dish, the meat totally falls off the bone... it's like butter in your mouth. Served with all the usual suspects (rice, potato, Greek salad, pita) but in all honesty I usually just take that stuff home. The lamb is best eaten hot and fresh, don't disrespect the lamb by taking it home for later... it loses that fresh baked quality and flavour. You can get the lamb any other day of the week as well as a lunch-sized portion but let's be honest, if you're going to do it, do it right. Go big or go home. Trust me on this one! read more

Want to give 3 & a 1/2 stars - Great service - but average food ! Went with a big group of ppl and were seated upstairs which was a quiet secluded room . We ordered their special boneless lamb roast in gravy and wine sauce . Along with their two main specials for $21.95 ( we got the ribs , lasagna ) which comes with side of potatoes , salad , rice and veggies with tzatziki . Potatoes were so yummy and so were the ribs - tender and juicy ! Lamb was alright but threw me off cuz of its wild smell / taste . Lasagna was creamy but needed seasoning . We've ordered take out from Poseidon a handful of times as well as tried other Greek restaurants, but after our last recent experience, I wanted to post a review as our meals were particularly yummie. It really sealed the deal where we will be ordering Greek food for our family from now on. We had the lamb souvlaki, ribs, and fettucini. We had enough food for 2 meals from one order. The meats were really tender and flavourful. The lamb souvlaki was really a surprise at how tender the chunks were as I'd never had such tender lamb before. The ribs were equally as tender and flavorful (bbq), but for me it was too saucy. That's just my preference though. The tzatziki was delicious & accompanying veggies and rice were perfectly cooked. All meals came with Greek salad too. My husband ordered the food on Fri night and was told it would be ready in 45 min for pick up. W/in that time, he got another call that the food would be ready in 5 min and he paid & picked up our meal with no problems. My mouth is watering thinking about our last meal. This is our go-to restaurant for chicken souvlaki. It's probably the best I've ever had in the lower mainland. Well seasoned and perfectly char grilled. If I am not ordering the souvlaki, I'm ordering the souzoukakia. They are just delicious. Meatballs with a savoury tomato sauce. It's meant to be an appetizer but I order it as a meal with a salad. My Greek father-in-law always gets the lamb. He loves it. The only downside is that it comes in a large pot which made it hard for him to eat. The owner is incredibly hospitable. When we went to the restaurant with my in-laws, we discovered their family was from the same part of Greece. He was so friendly and gave us ekmek on the house. Delicious. read more

It was quick which was nice but I asked for no olives in my Greek salad and I got olives. This is the second time I've had food from here and sadly the second time the potatoes have been blocks of salt. The chicken was a lil too grilled on one side and the meal was maybe just over warm when it got here (delivered through uber eats which was quick so I don't get how some stuff was warm and some not). Let me just say this - it was THE MOST amazing piece of meat I've ever eaten. Sounds like I'm exaggerating but I'm not. It was moist, tender, FULL of flavor and perfect bits of salt in each bite - I took a bite and looked up at my bf with a look of amazement on my face - he laughed at me. I asked if I could kiss the cook - my bf said no. I will not be able to go back to eating anything else! meat sweats? yes - sexy hey? Don't get me wrong they have vegetarian options too just don't forget to ask for different rice because they cook the regular rice in chicken stock. If you like Greek food or might like Greek food or aren't sure but think you're keen to try Greek food, do it here. And a word of advice: save room for dessert and order the Ekmek. I seldom order dessert when I go out because dessert is dessert and I don't have much of a sweet tooth. I like sugar (who doesn't?) but I've never seen the point in eating something so high in calories if it's not going to wow me. But I had it on good authority that the Ekmek at Poseidon was a real winner of a dessert and that to pass on it would be unadvisable. And wow! The rumors were true; it was unbelievable. I must also mention the mousaka was delicious. I find myself to be a conosur of this Greek dish and must say this is a must have at the restaurant! Our meals were large with plenty of food. I personally like that you certainly get your money's worth it at these quaint owner run restaurants unlike the chain restaurants and their tiny expensive portions. Our meal started with a Greek Salad, saganaki and ouzo. The main dish came with delicious lemon potatoes, rice, veggies, tzatziki and pita. Got the poseidon special combo and was a great value, the food was average, but upon eating the lasagna there was a piece of plastic in there which ruined the whole experience. Didn't want to finish the meal afterwards as I'm not sure how the food was cleanly prepared if a large piece of plastic was able to get into the lasagna layers without them knowing. read more

We have been going to the restaurant for several years and have been very pleased with the overall service and quality. TONIGHT, was an exception and terrible in comparison. We had to wait over 20 minutes for the main course after the waitress picked up our salad bowls. It took 8 minutes to get mint jelly once asked - yet there were only 6 people in the restaurant. To make matters worse, people that came in after us had completed their main course well before we served ours. As for quality, the Saganaki had little flavour in comparison to previous occasions. My husband and I decided to try this place to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary. I was diagnosed with Celiacs disease last summer, so eating out has become a stressful Russian Roulette game. Our waiter wasn't sure which items had gluten added that I needed to avoid, so he asked one of his fellow workers to help let me know what I needed to avoid and what menu items I should focus on. She was super sweet and well informed on what ingredients are in the food so I went off of her suggestions. I relayed the information to the waiter when placing my order on which items I couldn't have on my plate. First let me say thank you for making an amazing traditional Greek Salad and my hubby's spanikopita came out looking like a pro food image. I wish I could have tried some of his plate! Lol I ordered the Chicken Souvlaki plate minus the rice and potatoes, and my husband ordered their roast lamb. The food came out piping hot and smelling amazing. I started eating and the flavors were so good! Both my husband and I as we call it "Great Whited" (eyes rolling back in head) upon the first few bites of each items. Lol. My husbands lamb was so tender he was able to cut it and flake it with his fork. Their carrots were so fresh it tasted like they came out of a garden out back before being cooked. It was already 10:30 by the time we finished dinner and they still asked us if we wanted to order dessert. The sweet lady came back out again and went over the dessert items to ensure I was safe. I had their ice cream which currently is the Maple Walnut. My husband ordered their Ekmek. We again were blown away by the flavors. They never made us feel rushed even though we were there after they were technically closed. Amazing customer service, care, and food. I didn't have one inkling of gluten in my food and felt great leaving the restaurant.
