A nice spot to enjoy a drink and a bite to eat. I love the heaters on their patio as it's nice to people watch while you relax (also it's quieter than inside the restaurant). The seating is very comfortable and you don't feel crammed in by the surrounding tables. There is parking in Semiahmoo Mall that it backs onto. The prices are competitive. I wish there was more variety in their appies and would like to see more basic/traditional sandwiches on their menu (it would definitely make me visit more). We had dinner a while back and were enjoying our meal with friends. When the bills were brought, we noticed an extra fee on the bill. When we questioned what it was we were informed it was a tip for the kitchen staff. So we were expected to tip on top of a tip. We paid the bill and were just talking among ourselves about tipping in general. Talking how tipping is getting so out of control, at kiosks, liquor stores, no tipping in Europe, ect..... The waitress then came up to us and got angry that we were complaining about a small amount for the kitchen staff. Now, please understand, we paid the bill and left a tip. It was a private conversation at our table. We were having a nice evening and this was just rude and turned a nice evening into a bad taste in your mouth. We will not be coming back. I'm pretty impressed with this place. From the outside it seems like another douchy hot spot but I was pleasantly surprised with the great service and excellent food. We initially sat outside on the covered patio but since it's pretty much summer and they had all the heaters on I was sweating just sitting in my seat, so we asked to move inside. It was no problem at all and we were even able to sit at a big booth even though it was just the two of us on a busy Saturday night. Our server was fantastic and the food, while a little pricier than most meals in that general area, was very good. I had the tuna burger and it was pretty amazing. Our bill after 2 meals, several drinks and a pitcher of beer came to about $75 without tip, but the quality of food and service at this place was well worth it in my opinion. This is the second Brown's Social House visit we have made and we were pleasantly surprised with this particular location. Which is great because our first visit to another location really left a bad impression of the franchise. We dined later in the evening outside on the heated patio. It was absolutely perfect. It's a great place to people watch and relax while sharing some good food. My wife and I shared the 2 piece Halibut and BBQ Chicken Pizza. The Halibut was bar none the best Halibut we have ever had. The pizza was very tasty also. I had a couple of Orange Cosmo's and she had the Sangria. Delicious food and fantastic drinks! We'll be back for sure. read more

Hubby and I ate here in the early evening on Friday night. The place was busy but the staff was on it. This place had a friendly vibe. We were sat immediately. Our server was helpful and kind. Went on a weekday for lunch. The Host was great, our Waitress was subpar. The Host was walking around and asked if our order had been taken, nope. He had to call our Waitress to our table. It was lunch time and I was hungry. I didn't want fast food but I needed breakfast food and I needed it fast. Yes, there's a difference. I didn't need scrambled eggs in the spirit of Picasso, or bacon a' 'la Masterpiece Theater. I wanted 4 eggs over medium, 4 slices of bacon, and a maple syrup delivery device, pancake or waffle. After an internet search, I ended up at Browns with laptop in tow so I could get some work done. Bacon was under crisp for my taste (I don't count this against them because I can assure you the next guy would have complained when he got his bacon exactly the way I like it: crispy but not burned), the eggs were perfect, and the pair of waffles were good, though a bit sugary. Coffee is my drug of choice and, like most drug addicts, I just need my fix when I need my fix. This stuff was good, though. It was like, "Yea, I know I'm already high and I shouldn't, but this stuff is good so go ahead and hit me again." I don't remember much after that fourth or fifth cup. I think they made a great use of the space here! Came here with the famjam on Family Day (how fitting) and we got a nice seat in the bar area. Contrary to some of the other Browns that I've visited, this one has nice big windows and gets lots of natural light (yay!) I always love the decor in these restaurants, and the hipster in me has such a soft spot for Edison bulbs. This place is very rife with them. I ordered the Blackened Chicken Cowboy Salad and enjoyed every single bite. The chicken was tender and juicy, and I love the honey vinaigrette that comes with it. There's a good amount of veggies and feta that comes with it and I would definitely have it again. The small piece of bread that comes on the side is surprisingly cheesy and delicious! read more

Service is always slow, but I keep giving Brown's more chances. I decided to try pick up over the phone and the woman on the other end laughed at me on the phone. I still ordered 20 mins ahead of time and when I got there they proceeded to make me wait another 30 Mins for the soup that I ordered. The place was empty as well so it's not like they were slammed. Bowl of Soup came out to almost $20. No thanks Browns. I proceeded to get my soup and cry in my car. I will not be going back. Used to be a place where you could go with your spouse or a friend for a good meal in pleasant surroundings . . . . not tonight! Went to browns today with a few friends around 5.45 in hopes of satisfying are taste buds and celebrating an approaching 13th birthday. I had never been here before but I had heard many good reviews so I was entrigued. We started with appies one being the kalamari. Personally I am usually the first to admit their hate towards this deep fried seafood, however it tasted deluctable and crunchy the way I like. However the sauce it came with wasn't my favorite but it was good enough. I also had some yam fries which were of coarse classic yam fries with a nice sauce. We were pleased but still a little hungry. Now came the main courses. I ordered the Baja fish tacos and was quite pleased. The fish to me wasn't cooked quite to the point I wanted but other then that it was very very good and I enjoyed it with a CEacer salad which was quite fresh tasting. My friends enjoyed a salad and a nice looking order of caseaddeas which was apparently tastey. Most disappointing dinner. The raspberry margarita was so salty I had to send it back. It was undrinkable. The pasta carbonara was just ok, bet was covered in way too much garnish and the blackened chicken was mushy. The garlic toast was soggy and barely garlic. The sticky toffee pudding was dry. The final insult was when I went to pay the bill. I had driven across from Washington state to do some business, and when I went to pay my bill, I discovered I only had a US $100.00 bill in my purse. I was astounded that they said they would only take it at par. When they deposit it, the bank would credit them $130.00. That's what it's worth, according to the bank. Fortunately they were "nice" enough to let me run out to my car and grab a twenty. This restaurant is only 4 miles from the border. They have many US customers, and while most pay with plastic, this policy is shady at best. read more

So, another eating adventure gone wrong. Today was a late lunch affair with a friend at the new Browns social house in White Rock. We ordered the wings, wonton soup, and a quinoa chicken salad. Although not the Manlist of choices, the portions again did not suffice my appetite, hence the late ordering of bland boring tiny wings. I did not eat the soup but was told it was lack luster in appeal, while my salad was good, again the chicken must have been a baby. Had some issues with a different Browns location. Ended up getting some gift cards out of it and used them at this location to play it safe. Service was on point and food was great. Our gift cards almost didn't work but our server Antonio sorted it out. Fantastic service that has given us a new outlook on Browns. Great job showing what the franchise is really about. Do I really need to write a review...? all time favroutite: drinks, food menu, furnishings, location, staff and ambience all great. I love that been to many locations and consistency in recipes is its finest. I really wish businesses like them didn't need to sell with short skirts, tiny figures and low cuts tops. So I went to eat lunch with a friend to Brown's Social House on Hwy 10 and 152Street in Surrey. I came to the end of my Ceaser Salad and found a broken piece of a human nail in my mouth. I was disgusted and asked for my server right away and asked for the manager as she was disgusted as well. The manager was apologetic however, there is no exception to this. It's disgusting, I'm pregnant and asked if his staff uses gloves. He said it's not his staff it was the packaging company. The fact that he was pointing the blame to someone else aggravated me even more. I was in tears I wanted to force myself to puke the food out. This is so unsanitary and disgusts me to think they don't wash there vegetables thoroughly. He told me not to bother with emailing head office as they will just direct the email to him. I am making this public as this is could be a health risk to anyone especially a pregnant customer. In the past, I've also been served a frozen pepperoni pizza. My husband and I have been going to browns more recently because of their amazing nachos and recently I discovered what a great salad they have! The blackened cowboy salad without feta is amazing!!! Also my husband had the happy hour mini tacos which he enjoyed and would order again. Since you know me to be a picky eater and quality is so important I will say that this location has done a great job keeping up with standard and great customer service skills. As many posts of mine you will see how big of a stickler for good hand hygiene I am. The browns location in Langley I would not recommend though, due to the fact the waitress did bring my salad to me with her entire long fingernail in my salad (the way she was holding the plate) which grossed me and the atmosphere was okay but most of the staff sat around with friends chatting near the bar which I have not seen at the semiahmoo location! read more

Really unimpressed with being kicked out under the assumption we were drunk when my dad and I came in for dinner after hours of crying as we are grieving my mothers death. We needed some dinner and actually did not even order a drink, we were not even given a menu before being kicked out and told we would not be served. I am offended and insulted. One of my worst experiences. We had a power outage in our area so I called to set up a reso as I have 2 little ones. The hostess took down my info and told me the table would be available in 40mins and that they would call once the table was set up. They called me and I was right up the street and minutes always - when I got there they gave my table away and apologized and said they meant to tell me that I was going to get the next table which was not what I was told over the phone - they clearly stated it was ready - at this point I did not mind I knew it was busy due to the power outage and said that was fine - the manager told me that a high top table had become available and I said sorry that won't work I originally told the hostess that I have a 2 year old and he could injur himself - he was apologetic and said he was working hard to get me a table - after another 45min wait, we finally got a table. When we sat down I asked the waitress to place the order as we were already 1.5 hours into getting a table. She came back and told me due to my daughters nut allergy that I would have to wait about an hr extra. I explained my situation to her and asked to speak to the manager as I didn't understand why she had to wait longer due to an allergy. The waitress called over her assistant manager - who was a total joke and asked me if I really needed to put the food in as an allergy - I explained to him that YES my daughter is anaphylaxis and of course I am sure - he then said I'm sorry but we are really busy and I can't get my chef to step away to clean the area until he basically serves the rush. I explained that this is no way my daughters fault, that I was insulted that he would even question me a second time to place the food as an allergy, how was it fair for her to have to wait and how discriminatory his remark was. I got up off the table and left with my two children and on the way out the original manger we spoke to (not the unprofessional assistant manager) asked if everything was ok. I explained what happened and he was so apologetic and said he would put the order through and cover the bill. At this point it was not about the money - it was the principle - I told him that I would no longer be coming there and that I was so upset that I did not want to be there at that moment as they had upset me and my children. The manager asked what he could do and he took down my number and said he would call to make things right. HE NEVER called me. Me and kiddos went to McDonalds after 2 hours of the evening being wasted. This was a few weeks ago. I was very happy with my food as was my husband. I must also say that our waitress was nice and accommodating. The reason for one star was our drinks... I ordered a Manhattan ($2 off martini night) and my husband ordered a mojito. On the way to delivering our drinks the waitress stumbled a bit and spilled a little bit of my martini (no prob, it happens). She apologized and went back in to have another martini made after leaving my husband his mojito. Shortly she returned and said the bartender "added another shot" but that was not the case. The drink came back watery. I was going to write it off but my husband then told me his mojito was bad and he does not complain about things. We sent the mojito back saying it was not carbonated and it was sour, it needed some simple syrup.... After taking the drink back to the bar another server brought out another mojito that tasted exactly the same but slightly more carbonated... About 30 seconds later our waitress came out with a NEW mojito saying the bartender just topped the old one up with soda h2o and that she had to hassle him to remake the drink which confirmed my suspicions that my own drink was watered down.
