Lying on my back, implants fall to the sides.

I would not recommend coming to Dr. Brucker for a breast augmentation. I cannot speak on his work elsewhere. After thinking long & hard about it if I were to leave a review or not, I decided I'd like others to have a fair decision on whether or not to get their procedures done here after hearing about my own repercussions. I had a simple under the muscle breast augmentation in October of 2022. I am 5'10, athletic, 170lbs, and started with a 34B. I wanted 34/36 DD's. I got silicone 575 CC's implants, under the muscle, incisions below the breasts. I have healed fully from it, and now have many complaints, and plan to have a revision elsewhere. At first glance, they look fine, but they're not the size I wanted, they don't perform well, they are far apart, fall to my armpits when lying, have a thick scar on one side. and have nerve damage in one side. When going back & forth on deciding what size implants I wanted, Dr B said nothing over 575CC's would fit. I saw photos of someone with similar stature online, who got 575CC's and appeared to be close to the size I wanted, so I asked for him to try and fit that size, although he was hesitant. He said if in surgery, they didn't fit, he would go down a size. I agreed. Having told Dr B I am athletic and lift weights regularly, and did not want any changes to performance, he still encouraged me to go under the muscle. This was not a good idea, as I experience pain & (very unsightly) implant repositioning when using my pecs in any manner. Originally it appeared to be "Double Bubble Deformity" but has healed and now is more obviously what surgeons call "Animation Deformity" where the muscle "window shades" up when the pec is flexed. It's painful and ugly, and can cause the implant to permanently move positions. Think dropping down below, or in the armpits. Ugh. This may be due to the surgeon releasing too much of the pec when creating the pocket for the implant. This surgical error aside, the bedside manner of Dr B and staff (one in particular) seemed friendly enough at first, but quickly diluted. Dr. B seemed rushed & absent-minded in most of our pre-op and post-op meetings. During our post-op meeting I asked him why I was experiencing what looked to be a "double bubble deformity" on one side, and he passively said "Well because of the implant size you chose." That was the one explanation I've gotten on this deformity, outside of it hopefully going away with time. Yikes. I'll be planning a costly revision early 2024. Nurse Jenn was friendly enough at first, but became unprofessional and off-putting. I apparently am friends with someone she knows and does not get along with, so she chose to treat me & my partner lesser than in all of my appointments before, during, & after surgery. She would roll her eyes, scoff, and ask condescending questions. Upon waking from my surgery, she was leaning over me, scowling, asking if the smell in the room was me. (It was my self tan that heated up during surgery) I made a joke about it, feeling very uneasy and unsure as I was coming out of anesthesia, which was left ignored. What a way to wake up from your first surgery ever! When she and another nurse rolled me in a wheelchair out to my partner waiting outside, he wanted to get a video, and she had a scowl across her face and was very short with us both, making him uncomfortable, forfeiting capturing the moment that should have been a light & happy occasion. I've been told she has had reviews like this before, to no correction, and have heard elsewhere that this is a reputation the office is becoming known for in town. I raised concerns about this behavior afterwards to a staff member, which was left dismissed by Dr B. I believe Dr. Brucker is a nice man with experience, but is rushing through appointments & surgeries haphazardly, and is not making corrections on Nurse Jenn's poor behavior. I also believe Dr. B adamantly recommended a certain modest size implant, and an under the muscle surgery, due to where he knows his talents lie, which is why going slightly larger (575CC) had an unfortunate outcome, potentially just lack of skill in that size range. Now because of these mistakes, I have had almost a year of issues, and have to invest time, energy, pain, & money into another surgery that hopefully corrects these things. This has been quite emotional & a bit traumatizing being my first cosmetic surgery ever. I hope Dr. B can work on bettering his expertise, correct his staff, and learns to refer clients elsewhere for procedures he's not confident in.

I don't even know where to begin about this place. Dr. Brucker, the girls in his front office, and everyone I met there were AMAZING. They didn't seem fake, stuck up or judgmental at all. Wonderful telephone and in-person demeanor and just so sweet. Dr. Brucker was HIGHLY recommended to me by other doctors and patients in the area. As soon as our consult started I knew he would be the doctor for me. He was so knowledgeable, answered all of my questions immediately, and provided me information I didn't even know to ask. His machinery is top of the line and he will be open and honest with you. So professional. I booked my appointment with him the same day of my consult, for only a week later. My recovery was FANTASTIC. I am also unable (and unwilling) to take narcotics for pain management and he provided me an alternative option that left me in virtually zero pain. I couldn't believe how quick and easy everything went for me. My follow up appointments were quick. I was always seen right away. Within a month of my surgery I already felt brand new. Now eight months later, you literally can't even tell I had work done. People don't even realize I had surgery and that is exactly what I was going for. I got my confidence back after nursing kids and having rapid weight loss a year ago, and my clothes fit like a glove again. I have recommended SEVERAL people see him if they ever want to make the leap. I will continue to do so. It is a wonderful office and they took all my fears and concerns away. If I could give him 1,000 stars I would. Thank you Dr. Brucker and staff for taking care of me and being AWESOME. read more

I wanted to express my complete gratitude to Dr Brucker and his excellent staff. I recently was referred to Dr Brucker to have my old saline implants replaced. My experience far exceeded my expectations. My results are phenomenal and he had the best pricing to top it off. My recovery was extremely quick as he promised and I my results are extremely natural. I originally interviewed 3 extremely qualified surgeons in town. The price points differed by $5000!!! For the same procedure! I loved Dr Brucker's gentle & confident bedside manner and confirmed my gut feeling when I read his dozens of 5 star reviews across multiple review sites. I recently underwent breast augmentation with Dr Brucker. I had a reduction when I was 19 and then breastfed a few years later. Once all was done and settled, I felt like I had no breast tissue anymore. I was referred to Dr Brucker by a friend and did not even consider seeking a second opinion after meeting him and his team. I felt very comfortable and well educated throughout the entire process. His nurses were gentle, friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. Dr. Brucker is a wonderful, caring and thoughtful Doctor. I had some complications after surgery (not because of anything he did - just a fluke). He was so concerned - helped make an appointment with another Doctor to address my issue. Followed up with me and my husband DAILY to make sure I was ok - even gave my husband his cell phone number. My results were great - he is more picky than me about the final outcome. I recommend him to everyone I know. I will be back to see him as I get older and need more "work". read more

A friend of mine recommend Dr. Brucker for a breast augmentation to me. I set up consultations with a few plastic surgeons, but Dr. Brucker was my first stop. After meeting with him, and his wonderful staff, I cancelled my other consultations and decided to go with him. I was extremely nervous about elective surgery, and he was very patient with all my questions. I even met with him multiple appointments before I even set a surgery date. My own internist referred me to Dr. Brucker after my 30 year implants ruptured. I wanted to have them out and have a breast lift. All these reviews are both helpful and valid. Office and staff, nurses, and Dr. B himself are just very professional and helpful. I got exactly what I wanted with a minimum of discomfort or inconvenience and could not be more pleased. Dr Brucker is such an amazingly talented plastic surgeon. I did a breast reduction in December and have to say it was the best decision I've made when it comes to improving my self confidence and outward appearance. The size of my new breasts is perfect, they are beautifully proportionate, and the scars are already almost invisible. His staff is incredible too. Jen and Jacqueline took such good care of me during my procedure and follow ups. Tricia and Alexandra were wonderful too. Dr. Brucker is an amazing plastic surgeon and he has a great bedside manner. I had upper eyelid blepharoplasty surgery. The recovery was easy with minimal pain and not much bruising. Doctor Brucker is one of the best plastic surgeons in San Diego. The secret to a great plastic surgery is that you look better, but people don't know you had work done. When you see women all over San Diego with faces that are pulled back, huge lips, and faces that look like Michael Jackson- those are the women that did not go to Doctor Brucker. He has years of experience, is easy going to work with, honest, and skilled as one of the best. I have friends who are 70 and look 45-because of a nip and tuck with Doctor Brucker. He is not the cheapest, but he is the best!!!! read more

I am soo happy with my results, I am 100% satisfied with them. During the whole process of everything I felt so comfortable and confident with there care and practice. All of the staff were extremely helpful and nice. Dr. Brucker is very detailed orientated and amazing. Your first visit is very informative and cost efficient! I wanted to get a breast agumentation and was recommended by a friend who had the same surgery and they looked perfect and real!! They have this awesome machine that will take a picture of your upper body and then allow you to play around with the sizes and see how the breast implants will look on you. You can even take the before and after pictures home. After I had my surgery I pulled out the picture and compared them and they looked identical. My recovery went very well. I barely even bruised. I highly recommend him :) read more

Dr. Brucker is an amazing surgeon in so many ways. From the moment you step into his immaculate office and are greeted by his amazing staff, you realize that you are going to be in good hands. Dr. Brucker's bedside manner is nothing short of perfect. He is compassionate, attentive, honest, and sensitive. My favorite thing about him is that he won't do "whatever you want". He will listen to your wants/needs, and then give his professional opinion. There are plenty of doctors that will give you exactly what you think you want, even if it isn't beneficial to your health. Dr. Brucker is not one of those doctors. I just had a breast augmentation revision of 11-year-old implants, one of which was leaking - I could not be any happier with my treatment, and my results. From his Front Office Coordinator Kristen, his Patient Coordinator Trish, to his Nurse Jen - I have felt like part of a really great (and pretty!) family. As long as he is in practice, I will refer him to anybody who mentions the need for a plastic surgeon and I consider myself a life-time patient. My gratitude is endless! read more

Where to even begin... (I am 8 weeks post op) I'm 25 with 2 kids (5 and 2) nursing my daughter 2 years and my son almost 1 year... so to say the least my breasts have gone through a lot of trauma.. from going to 200 pounds to 144 pounds after my son my breasts deflated so bad as well as my confidence. For 4 years I have been researching doctors/implants/breastlift etc... 3 months ago I came across Dr. Bruckers page after going through all reviews and seeing his amazing work in breasts/reconstructing and all his outstanding accomplishments I was sold and booked a consultation, 2 weeks later I had my surgery and to say that my experience with Dr. Brucker, his nurse Jen, his whole staff was phenomenal is the biggest understatement! Dr.Brucker from the gecko was honest and realistic with my body type/size he knew exactly what I wanted and needed (I never even showed him pictures). He made me feel the utmost comfortable even when I have the biggest fear of being put to sleep, his nurse Jen =AMAZING (every office/hospital needs a Jen!) I don't even know where to begin describing how fantastic Dr. Brucker and his staff are. I currently am 6 weeks post-op after a breast augmentation and lift, and I both look and feel great. I went into the operation as around a C-cup, and mostly just wanted to be plumped up a bit. I was terrified of ending up too big. (Apparently, the last words that I said to Dr. Brucker before the anesthesia knocked me out were, "If you make me too big, I'll kill you.") My breasts are absolutely perfect now - he got the size exactly right. They look so natural that most people would not know that I had any work done (which was what I wanted). Dr. Brucker was so warm and willing to take time with me before the surgery. I met with him twice - once on my own when I was interviewing a few Dr's, and then once with my husband once I was pretty sure he was my choice. On both occasions, he was so patient and so willing to answer every single question that we had. After the surgery, at my post-op check ups, he was equally willing to answer every single question. He's not only a great doctor, but also seems like a genuinely good guy. His nurse, Jen, also is wonderful - super knowledgeable and also so willing to help. (I called her a few times post-op with what I am sure were ridiculous questions, and she always got back to me right away, never making me feel silly for having called.) His patient coordinator Tricia and Kristen who works up front are equally fantastic - so friendly and yet professional. Honestly, I cannot imagine having a better experience than I had with Dr. Brucker and his staff. The results were great, and they made the entire experience so easy. If there were a 10 star option on Yelp, I'd give them that. read more

I just had my first consult with Dr. Brucker. While I was waiting for him to come in for the exam I took a good look at the room to see how clean it was. I didn't see one thing out of place or dirty. Dr. Brucker came in for the exam and grabbed a gown out of a drawer on the side counter. He noticed a small scratch in the paint. He took a second to examine with a somewhat troubled look on his face. This may seem like a small detail to some people but it speaks in volume to his attention to detail. I believe this is the most important quality a cosmetic surgeon can have. read more

Due to the inevitable processes of time and an over-enthusiastic application of Botox, my right eyebrow had dropped, giving me a terrible aspect. Dr Brucker took the time to talk with me about my options and presented a smorgasbord of possibilities. When circumstances intervened, I was only able to undertake a much-abridged procedure ("only" a brow lift) but Dr Brucker happily undertook my case. His surgery team is excellent - professional and prompt. His in-house surgery center is beautifully kept and clean. He has options for a nurse to stay with you if you have no one at your house to take care of you the first night (and the second)... And, for me, he did an amazing job. When I walked in, the day after surgery for my first check up, the receptionist was awed by how changed my face was, and how much prettier and calm I looked. Along with straightening the brows (and "taking off some of the weight of the years") Dr Brucker's procedure minimized my crows' feet and forehead "care and worry" lines, giving me a wonderfully refreshed look that I hope will last into the next century. Memo to self: No more Botox, EVER! Thank you Dr Brucker! read more

Upon seeing her outcome just a few days after her surgery I was sold! From the first consultation and at every meeting after, Dr Bolitho treated me with the utmost professionalism. He listened carefully, explained in great detail the entire process, answered every question and suggested doing less than I thought I needed. He exudes care and trustworthiness and as he speaks it is very obvious how much he loves what he does. The outcome of my deep plane face and neck lift was absolute perfection! The process could not have been easier. Almost no downtime at all. No pain or bruising, just a pulling sensation which went away as the stitches dissolved. Within 2 days I was off Tylenol and making my own lunch, watching movies and even did some laundry. Within two weeks I was out and about looking and feeling great. It has now been 3 months, there are no traces of having had surgery. I look rested, years younger but not obvious or pulled. I get a lot of compliments from people who can't quite figure out why I look younger and refreshed. When I choose to tell them I had a facelift, they are astonished by how natural I look. They ask to see the scars and are amazed by how hard it is to see them at all. I've lost count of how many times I have been asked to shared his contact. Dr Bolitho exceeded my highest expectations! His work is truly amazing and only matched by his bedside manner. It's obvious how much he enjoys bringing joy to his patients and how proud he is of his work ....and rightly so! He spoke very fast, was insistent, and both my support person and I felt lost and talked over. He told me my nipples were "turned down," which I disagreed with, and made unsolicited comments such as women not wanting to "look like a boy," that "guys don't care about scars," and that "you either have scars or you don't have bigger boobs." These comments felt inappropriate and made me feel pressured and insecure rather than supported. Overall, I felt that he did not listen to my goals or respect my boundaries. I booked this consultation specifically because of his advertised experience with endoscopic transaxillary cases and made my preferences very clear, yet I felt pushed toward a procedure I did not want. I would not trust this doctor and would recommend finding a surgeon who truly listens and has experience in the specific approach you're looking for. Additionally after the consultation, I called the office again to clarify whether it would be possible to proceed with an under-the-armpit approach without a lift, since I am comfortable with my breast shape and simply want more volume. He responded that I would "have the same breasts, just bigger," and that I would still have "the same problem." I explained that I do not see my breasts as a problem and that I like them as they are. He then told me that I should find a different doctor.

After the procedure, I repeatedly expressed concerns about the results and was told by staff and providers that the size would decrease over time. More than three years later, the results never changed, and I remained unhappy with the outcome. Despite my dissatisfaction, I decided to give Pacific Lipo another opportunity to make things right. I returned and agreed to pay for another procedure to remove the results of the BBL. I was hopeful that this third experience would finally address the concerns I had been expressing for years. After agreeing to the cost of the procedure and completing the required steps, I was informed that I would be required to pay an additional $200 for a medical transportation service. I explained that I was willing to arrange and pay for my own transportation home and did not want or need the service they were requiring. What concerned me most was my conversation with Dr. Joseph Bivens. During that discussion, I was told that if I did not agree to pay for the required transportation service, my procedure would be changed from general anesthesia to local anesthesia. My understanding was that the anesthesia plan would be altered because I refused to purchase an additional service that I neither wanted nor requested. This was particularly frustrating because I had already agreed to and paid for a specific procedure and treatment plan. When I stood my ground and refused to pay for the transportation service, Pacific Lipo canceled my procedure. In their cancellation email, they stated that my $5,000 refund would be processed within 1-2 business days. However, it ultimately took 4 business days before I received my full refund. While I appreciate that the refund was eventually issued, it added to an already frustrating experience and unnecessary uncertainty regarding a significant amount of money. My issue was never with following medical instructions or postoperative requirements. My issue was with being presented with additional mandatory costs after the procedure had already been discussed, priced, and agreed upon. I gave Pacific Lipo multiple chances over the years. First, I was unhappy with the results of a procedure that I felt pressured into adding. Then I returned and paid for another procedure in an effort to correct those results. Instead of finding a resolution, I encountered additional charges, changes to the agreed-upon treatment plan, and ultimately a canceled procedure. This review reflects my personal experience. I encourage anyone considering treatment here to ask detailed questions about all costs, transportation requirements, anesthesia policies, refund timelines, and any potential changes to the treatment plan before committing to a procedure.

This was, unfortunately, the only negative experience I had. Scheduling the initial consultation was difficult -- it took weeks, multiple phone calls, and several portal messages just to get on the calendar. For anyone going through a cancer diagnosis, you know how critical timing is -- and how emotionally exhausting it is to wait for care or answers. When I finally met Dr. Reid, I expected an open, collaborative conversation. Instead, most of the time was spent listening to him discuss his publications and accomplishments. I respect medical expertise deeply, but what I needed was empathy, support, and someone who would listen to my concerns and goals. Even more troubling were the casual and insensitive references to my anatomy. This kind of language is jarring and inappropriate when you're sitting in a vulnerable position, talking about reconstructing your body after cancer. To other patients: Please know you have options. I strongly recommend exploring consultations both in and outside of San Diego. There are providers out there who combine clinical excellence with compassion -- and truly listen.

I got my eyelids done by Dr. Brucker. Its called a blepharoplasty procedure. I am so happy that I chose Dr. Brucker. Dr. Brucker and his staff are very professional, knowledgeable and caring. My eyelids look amazing. You can't tell I did it, the scars are not visible even through a magnifying glass. My friends that know I did it tell me I look 10 years younger. My friends that don't know that I did it keep telling me I look great. I don't know how much younger I look (I'm in my late 40s), but my eye area looks so fresh - no more tired eyes! Besides Dr. Brucker, I had consultations with 2 different plastic surgeons, Dr. Brucker and the other 2 are all Board Certified in Plastic Surgery (always make sure your doctor is board certified in the specialty!) Dr. Brucker was definitely the most conservative, the other 2 tried to talk me into doing more work than I wanted to do. I felt like they were trying to make as much money as possible off of me. Dr. Brucker also was very honest about the amount of bruising to expect, and both he and his staff were excellent giving me post-care instructions. Dr Brucker was the first doctor I met with and after meeting with him and discussing what i wanted, I felt that I needed to look no further. I had a tummy tuck, liposuction, and a full breast lift with silicon implant. I am less than fortunate to be plagued with poor skin elasticity due to years of prednisone use for my severe asthma. Issues with my skin actually caused some complications with closure around my nipple during the procedure, then problems with blood flow to the nipple after the procedure. While in recovery, Dr Brucker immediately noticed I was losing blood flow to my nipple, he made the decision to take most of the sutures out and pack the area until he could see me the next morning. I already knew he was a great doctor, but when he showed up at my hotel room at 8 a.m the next day to check on my minor complication I knew I had made the right decision in choosing him. At only four months post op my scars are barely noticeable and I look and feel better than ever. I will forever be grateful for how great of a job Dr Brucker has done, he has a true gift. I am a 40 year old active, mother of 3. Based on a friend's recommendation I set up a consultation with Dr. Brucker among the few Doctors I interviewed before having a Breast Augmentation. Immediately I felt at ease at his office. Unlike the other Surgeons I met with, Dr. Brucker calmly answered all my questions, explained the process in great detail, and listened to my wishes and concerns. I felt like I was his only patient for the day, although I was not. Dr. Brucker understood my desire to look natural and go conservative on sizing. In fact, the day of the surgery I was second guessing myself, so I gave Dr. Brucker the OK to go one size larger. When I woke up, his nurse told me that he had gone with our original size because after he tried the larger implant, he was sure that I would not have been pleased, AND HE WAS RIGHT. I love how natural my new look is! I am one month out from the BA procedure. Beyond the overall look, I want to mention that the incisions (I decided on Inframammary) look amazing! I wish I could give ten stars! Everyone from the receptionist to the doctor himself are knowledgeable, kind, patient, caring and sweet! This was my first procedure and I was really nervous. Dr.brucker answered every question I had was patient and thorough with explaining every part of my surgery. The nurses were basically doctors with their knowledge and professionalism. The receptionists were so so kind and caring!! I will never go anywhere else for any work I have done. I got a lift and lip injections and both came out PERFECT he understood just what I wanted and they both look EXACTLY like I was hoping!! So happy with the results!! read more

I have done four surgeries in the past with other Doctors on my nose, every time I went in I wanted to make sure my nose was straight and I was able to breathe properly. All four times this did not happen, Dr. Brucker was the only doctor to give me both.
