I was in the Glastonbury area this morning and wanted a quick fresh bagel so I stopped at the closest and ordered one cut to go but not toasted. I love fresh doughy bagels especially when hen they are still hot out of the water. I got the honey walnut cream cheese spread so I can do my own along with the fact that they charge too much for it to be on it. Also I was charged an extra .30 cents for an egg bagel. It's definitely not a speciality bagel like they have and I didn't see a price of it to be extra. It's been while since the he last time I've stopped in and won't be rushing to go anytime soon. There were 3 workers behind the counter where the bagels are located and fighting to get an order to keep busy. It seemed clean though and everything was stocked up. read more

Food was good and their $6 coffee and a bagel w/ cream cheese was a great deal! I'm super picky with bagels and was happy with theirs.

The food is pretty good here and they have a good selection of bagels. The coffee is just ok, it's not terrible and definitely not great. My issue with this store is the service and cleanliness and it is the main reason I am writing this review. The people at the register always seemed to be annoyed while you are ordering and seem to be never in a good mood. This store is always filthy from the building vents covered in dust to the coffee counter and the tables and floors. I always have to wipe my table down just to eat. The bathrooms are a disaster and by the look of the floors they don't even own a mop. I cannot believe this store always looks like this especially being located in glastonbury but it's definitely not an inviting atmosphere and does not seem like anyone cares from staff to corporate as it has been this way for years... read more

Ordered a sandwich. Requested bagel toasted dark and it cut in half. Light spread on cream cheese. Not sure if it was Opposite Day but none of what I asked was done. For an $8 sandwich I expect the order to be followed. Bagel was barely toasted, more cream cheese than asked for and it wasn't completely cut. I had to rip it in half which in turn ruined part of the sandwich. Take an order and follow it please. This place needs some serious training on following a bagel order, really? read more

This picture shows how busy it was while I waited nearly an hour for an order that I had ordered 30 minutes before I arrived using the app. Not sure why I thought the service would be better since my review four years ago, but I'm convinced that my opinion then of never coming back here was the right one. Bruegger's has such great potential. The bagels are pretty good and the lox tastes fresh but no matter how many chances I give them they cannot get their act together. The staff is certainly nice enough and the now reopened seating area is inviting enough, but even with an empty store they just can't seem to get things organized. The only other nearby bagel shop has an extremely high price point and equally slow service, but the food is better. They win by default but I will not go there often and pay for a bagel and coffee I would pay for a decent dinner at another restaurant. But Bruegger simply cannot win my patronage when they keep me waiting for a simple order placed on the app, which should have been ready just before I arrived. Oh well, after all service cannot be counted on these days anyway. Addendum: Scott, the district manager, contacted me after my review four years ago: " It takes presence and an ability act on opportunities to make that HOPE a PLAN- So I plan on running into you there. Please call me even an hour or two before your next visit. Id love to have coffee & a bagel with you- or treat you to a dozen and a tub of our cream cheese to take home with you on me. I hope that this offer of apology is accepted.. I believe in our people there- but I also believe we failed you big time on your last visit. I want to make this right for you - and other guests who may share your sentiment." Sadly, I reached out four times with no response and gave up. It is nice to see management respond on reviews that show a poor experience, but Bruegger has already shown me that they don't follow through so I have to assume that it is only there to serve as a rebuttal to my review and not a sincere wish to correct the issue. I entered the location and was told that someone would take my order. There were 5 people filling to go orders for drive thru & for pickups. No one took my order so I spoke up and said I'd like to order a bagel and something to drink. Finally the man at the cashier area took my order. He made my iced coffee and I stood there for another 5 10 minutes waiting on my toasted bagel with cream cheese. I went over to a different area and my bagel had been sitting there and none of the Bruegger's workers ever stated that. This is a very disorganized location who does NOT cater to customers coming into the store. It is sad that they are more concerns about their to go business then the humans who want to buy in person. read more

From an accuracy standpoint service is inconsistent. Sometimes the order is correct. Other times... no. Wrong bagel selected, extra tomato when I asked for no tomatoes. Maybe they noticed I needed vitamin C or antioxidants. If that's the case thanks but I really hate tomatoes. Interestingly my order is usually wrong when I tip however, the food is always good and the team is always friendly. read more

I ordered 2 dozen bagels on their app before 9am and requested the order to be ready at 1pm. My order was accepted and I have email confirmation. When I arrived to pick up my order, I was told that my order was not ready and that they close in 45 minutes so they are unable to complete this order today and was told to come back tomorrow. As I drove away I decided it wasn't worth to come back for the order because of the travel distance & time involved. I try to call to cancel and get a refund, but as usual they never answer the phone at this location. I guess I will ask for a chargeback from my credit card company. We had family come into town and breakfast was needed so a bunch of bagels were needed, not just a dozen of the same kind but 9 of the gourmet. I couldn't just buy the 9 so I added 3 plain to finish out the order. I looked at the receipt and mentioned it didn't have the Plain bagels listed, the person behind they are in the box. Everything is just consistently slow when you come here to pick up your order. Online ordering is slow, the drive thru is always at a dead stop. I understand I come here at a busy time (6:30am) but sometimes it is just unacceptably slow. It's like you're lucky I already paid slow. It's also like you're lucky there's giant pot holes in your drive thru preventing me from speeding off slow. Yes there is actuallu a couple giant pot holes right in front of the drive thru menu. I placed an online order at 6:50am, it says 10-15 it will be ready. I pull up to the drive thru and it's at a complete dead stop. I wait in this line to inform the staff via their drive thru microphone that I have a pick up order for Ian. It's been more than 25 minutes so I decide to say forget waiting in line, there is only a line going up to the ordering microphone but not the actual drive up window. I already ordered, I already paid, let me just drive up to the window and pick it up. Keep in mind it's been almost 30 minutes since I placed the order. I get up there, it took about 5-10 minutes for them to notice someone at the window because they are just being overwhelmed in there. They finally get to the window to tell me my order is still being worked on. Yo. They're so lucky this stuff tastes good. The bagels are always good, the Siracha Honey Sunrise is always a banger. Even their Smokehouse Brisket Sandwich was good. Juicy, cheesey, well seasoned, it's really good. But come on. To see this many people speed off without food everytime I come here and for myself to be a victim of going 30 minutes over the 10-15 minute time frame of my order being ready, somethings wrong. 45-50 minutes for a sloppy a** sandwich (yeah they rushed this one as you can see in my latest picture) and a toasted bagel with just plain cream cheese. I try to support local restaurants more than chains, but being in Glastonbury and on short notice during breakfast time, Bruegger's made sense. The drive-thru line was pretty long for a Saturday around 10AM and they were out of A LOT of bagels. I opted for a cinnamon raisin with cream cheese + bacon and didn't think the bacon was very crispy. The bagel was also pretty over done (should have asked for it lightly toasted). Overall, it wasn't bad for what we needed and the staff was super nice, especially for it being so busy!! They offered a treat to our dog who was in the back seat waiting patiently! read more

Absolutely horrific service. You can't select bagel types on the app for a half or dozen bagels so the only option is to order in store. The last two Sunday's I've waited 20 minutes for a half dozen bagels. The staff is working hard but the drive through orders are the priority. The app needs work. Once was the best bagels around hands down! I don't know about the other locations but the one on main st Glastonbury has gone way downhill, the last few years. The bagels are not even made the same. The last few times including today the bagels are under cooked and weird shaped from either not being fully cooked or maybe the recipes have changed. Toppings used to be plentiful now barely any on top. You can get this same type of bagel at the donut shop DD. read more

The service was so bad! The people were so rude and incompetent. We asked for egg sandwiches with thin bagels, they were not thin. We asked for no spread and they put it on. Our cheese was not melted. They would not top off our iced coffee when we didn't need room for cream. The workers were not polite and had no smiles on their faces. Went through the drive-thru early on a Sunday morning. There was a line and it was slow going. We got two coffees, a sriracha bagel sandwich and a toasted rosemary -olive oil bagel with veggie cream cheese. All was delicious and worth the value paid. In all the time I lived in the state of Connecticut I never got to try Bruegger's Bagels. I've heard good things and when I drove passed one last weekend while looking for something to eat I figured, hey, why not try this place now? I went through the drive through at around 9AM and couldn't pass on up the chance to try the Herby Turkey which was basically turkey, garlic cream cheese, lettuce, red onions, some kind of tomato spread, and a nice sesame bagel to wrap it all up. I was a little hesitant because of the cream cheese but once I took my first bite out of this sandwich I was sold! The turkey was fantastic, the spread was fantastic, and the same can be said about the bagel that it was all in. My first trip to Bruegger's was a total success and I will definitely be coming back the next time I'm in Glastonbury! read more

Update 4/3/14...Even though I had issues with this visit the company has great follow up. Corporate contacted me and then had Manager contact me immediately to resolve issues and to ensure that situations like this don't happen again. Come on how hard is to make an Herby Turkey Sandwich it's been on the menu for ages. First hubby goes and gets 2 Herby Turkey sandwiches. Comes home hands me mine.....they put everything on but the Turkey...come on it can't be an Herby Turkey without turkey!! They put Turkey on my husband's. So he goes back...this time the manager makes it. And hubby comes home I open my sandwich it has Muenster cheese on it!! Mind you I like muenster but its not supposed to come on that sandwich!!! And this time the Manager made it wrong and forgot the Sun dried Tomato Spread!!! Know your products.....I ate it only cause we weren't driving back there a Third time! read more

So I've had many good experiences with the Glastonbury location. A few bad ones including a batch of mangled and rock hard cinnamon raisin ones. But today New Year's Day 2024 at 1:20 I walked in ad was informed they only had a few pumpernickel bagels left and they wouldn't be baking anymore. I assume they didn't run out of the other 12 or so varieties just before I walked in. There were 4 groups of customers in the line waiting and 8 cars outside in line at the drive thru. There was a lack of judgement on the needs of the businesses volume this day. I drive 15 minutes each way to get here. Today was a waste. Message for the staff about why people don't tip, (I ALWAYS HAD), but tipping is a thank you for good service. So for today debacle, compensate me with a free doz on Bruegger's, or tell me you understand why I should no longer tip. read more

They didnt have the 5 cheese bagel i paid extra for and offered me a lower cost bagel in its place with no offer for the difference in cost. Place wasn't even that busy at the time. It was noon.
