I made a terrible mistake. I tried the handmade chocolates from this place... and now all other chocolate is basically waxy sadness in comparison. You know how you think you've had "good chocolate" before? Like you buy the fancy bar, maybe something imported, maybe something wrapped in gold foil so you feel sophisticated? Cute. Adorable. That was practice chocolate. This chocolate is the real thing. The second it melts in your mouth you realize two things: 1. Someone here actually cares about chocolate at an obsessive, borderline unhinged level. 2. You are now ruined for life. The texture is impossibly smooth, the flavors are rich without being heavy, and every bite tastes like it was made by someone who considers chocolate a sacred craft rather than a snack. I tried to go back to regular chocolate afterward and honestly... it tasted like disappointment. So yes, the chocolates are incredible. A+ chocolates. A+ service. Whilst visting my bestie, I made a Yelp list of highly rated places that sounded yummy. So thanks to Yelp, we found ourselves here. And it did not disappoint! Brandon was so nice! We were greeted with a smile and a sample. And as we chatted, we got even more samples. Choosing just a few was so difficult! And, of course, later, whilst devouring our chocolates, we were all "wait, didn't we get X?" If you are looking for a real European chocolatier experience without any attitude or snobbery whatsoever despite the prices, this is it. Yes, it is expensive, just know that going in. But the truffle flavors are out of this world. A tiny quarter-bite of one delivers more flavor than the usual over-ganached truffles that are popular because they're huge and not too expensive. Flavors like strawberry balsamic, maple waffle, and passion fruit goat cheese are fresh with flavor and full of texture. The person who helped us was patient, friendly, and very knowledgeable. Super friendly folks and delicious chocolates! My wife and I felt like we had a mini-date today. I can understand why the Dubai chocolate is a thing right now. We brought home a bunch of truffles which we shared with the kids. Cut the different truffles in small pieces and had a fun time savoring everything together. Their flavors are fun and wonderful. Such attention to detail in both the chocolates and presentation. A terrific spot if you need to find a high end gift, particularly for someone who has it all. The elegant gold lettering from the outside of the store stands out from the other stores. I would describe this place as a chocolate lovers haven of dreams. Chocolate here are shaped into works of art decorated throughout the store. The smells of sweet confection permeates throughout the interior. You can spend an inordinate amount of time ogling all of the delicate pieces shaped into fruits, objects, and small animals. It's interesting to see the chocolates also painted iridescent colors to create an almost life like appearance. The price for art does come with a price however the taste of these delectable pieces melted in your mouth. No waxy taste. The milk chocolates are pure richness and cream. Brugge Chocolates is tugged away in suburbia Redmond in a strip mall, a hidden gem though decidedly expensive. If you are familiar with true European high end chocolates, these come very close to them, if not possibly spot-on. Dainty in size, the flavors seem almost foreign. Go straight to the case and ask questions. They are very different. In the Puget Sound area, this is easily the top three, possibly top two, chocolatiers. Much of their ingredients are sourced from France. Amongst the individual truffles, the best is called Praline Feuillete. It's fantastic! See attached photo. FYI: The parking in this lot is very crowded. There are a couple of dedicated spots for this store, but they expect you to not park there after you're done shopping. read more

What a delightful find via Yelp, imagine that. I had a craving for some great Port and dark chocolate for dessert. I had never heard of this place but I am glad that I stopped in for a sample. Parking stalls are a bit tight and there were a couple of people outside arguing about that issue but has nothing to do with delicious treats in this shop. As I walked in I was offered some chocolate that was freshly made and still a bit warm. Hooked, yes indeed. I am normally not a sweets person but this was different. After wandering around the shop I settled in a dozen dark and a dozen of the fresh milk chocolate. It is a nice option that they offer to have them boxed up or they will put it in a plastic sleeve and you get to save a couple dollars in the process. Fabulous little chocolate shop hidden away in Redmond. After a few visits now and definitely worth the 5 stars for consistency and range of chocolates. My favorite is the salted caramel, wonderfully smooth and the chocolate doesn't overpower. The apricot maryse is also lovely, along with the rum dark chocolate. So many choices! A little on the pricey side (for example, you can get 4 pieces for under $8), but really great quality. This is a small but cute chocolate shop in Redmond. We tried the candied ginger. I thought the chocolate portion was pretty good. I got a fleur de sal caramel. Decadent. Divine. Sophisticated. Romantic. Can chocolates and port be sexy? Indeed... And ohh so good. My lovely bride and I stopped in during the day, and immediately we were greeted by a kind lady who interrupted her conversation with a friend to ensure her customers were properly greeted and taken care of. I dont know her name, but she was classically beautiful, gentle in spirit and demeanor, as well as thoughtful and articulate in her choice of words and sentiments. It was the perfect way to be greeted/treated. The outside of this place doesn't do justice to what you behold inside. The chocolates are clearly the heros of the shop, and every inch of the establishment screams "class". Being that it was a celebratory day to honor of my wife's 29th birthday, we didn't hold back. We bought one of the 20 piece boxes, and the lovely lady behind the counter walked us through a journey of unique creations she's been crafting for the last decade. We started with the classic dark chocolate truffle, and it didn't disappoint. This little drop of heaven had a very thin chocolate coating holding the soft, creamy decadence inside. Perfect balance. We then grabbed nearly every flavor she offered, and added a ten year port to the check. The experience getting the chocolates was wonderful... But we didn't know how much we'd enjoy sampling the greatness we had just purchased until later that evening. Wow. My wife and I just finished tasting all of the varieties, and they were so good! The port was a FLAWLESS pairing. Sweet, strong, smooth, tangy, crisp, scrumptious... My wife loved it all, as did I.
