We visited on a Monday, for lunch, with a party of four, and it was a very nice experience. We were seated right away, the place was just about full at 1115, although it thinned out a bit. It is pretty much an old style diner. The waitress stopped by and took orders. We had The Sweet & Spicy Chicken Sandwich, Prime Rib Dip, Monte Cristo, and the Hot Turkey Sandwich with soup. Busy brunch spot. Plenty of free parking in the lot but this place gets busy so we made sure to stop by after 1pm so we could get seated and not wait over 30 minutes in line. We waited 5 minutes on a Saturday around 1:15pm. The staff seemed stressed but were still efficient. The restaurant itself is beautiful. I enjoyed the bar seating they had and the nice decor like the bike on the wall. For food I was sooo excited to try the Almond Crunch French Toast as thats why I had this place bookmarked. Sadly it was a bit disappointing. The French toast was a bit burnt on the bottom and lacked the nutmeg or any sweetness or flavor the menu states it will have. Almonds I know will be a French toast that is on the less sweet side however it tastes so bland like where is the brown sugar or nutmeg? No nutmeg or brown sugar detected. My eggs over medium were made perfectly though and the sausage was good. For the prices being high and the food being standard I and the person I dined with agreed IHop or Dennys would've been cheaper and better or about the same quality food. Family Pancake House Redmond is my preference in Redmond still and the best cafe diner I've been to. This place is alright but nothing special. read more

They have an online waitlist that you can use so you don't have to wait at the restaurant as long. Menu has the usual like pancakes, eggs, burgers, sandwiches etc. I got the classic egg benedict and picked the pancakes for the sides (hash browns being the other choice). You can get a half portion or full portion. Full portion gets you the two muffins with ham and runny poached egg on top, with a healthy slathering of hollandaise sauce. Their sauce was pretty good, and so was the ham. Pretty good egg benedicts overall. Got 3 pieces of buttermilk pancakes which were pretty fluffy. Comes with creamy butter, and syrup which is warm and very watery, but was sweet enough. My friend got a half portion of the corned beef scramble, and it tasted decent and good amount of food for the "half" portion". Overall bill including tips was about $50, which is typical these days in the area. read more

But food and service are perfect for getting some morning grub. I've tried every form of omelette here and they're all very good. Also, if you order a side of fruit here they don't pack it full of melons but instead give you bananas, strawberries and blueberries - it's a little thing but this small touch goes a long way. I called multiple times after they opened seeking info about allergies and dietary restrictions. I called four times--only twice was the phone answered after several minutes of ringing. The first time the phone was answered, they immediately hung up. And then the second time the phone was answered, they were acting like they were so busy they couldn't be bothered. I had a simple question. Do you guys have protocols regarding allergies? Some restaurants have specific pans or utensils that they use for people who have allergies or dietary restrictions and so I was hoping that I'd still be able to come and eat and have my food cooked in a separate pan. I didn't want to drive all the way over if I couldn't have my allergies accommodated. It was pretty full for a weekday, and it is no surprise because the ambiance, food and service are all stellar! We ordered the California Benedict's and they are by far the best I have tried! This was some of the worst service I've ever experienced. Took +15 minutes for our server to greet the two of us after we had to ask someone for our server. Also, she helped the table that was sat 5 minutes after us first. Throughout the entire time eating, she did not check up on us once...yet she checked on the tables around us multiple times. Then after we finished eating we had to ask someone for our check because she seemed to avoid us for some reason. She didn't even ask if the food tasted good either. I would like to add that she made eye contact with us multiple times. Anyways, everyone else was great, and the food was too but the service from our server was not. When you're in Redmond for three days and you have breakfast at the same place There must be something going right. We had excellent service great selection on the menu for both lunch and breakfast. The menu has items for vegetarian. I did not see anything vegan on the menu if you would like fruit instead of hashbrowns just ask the right toast is excellent homemade pumpkin pancakes. They listed fresh pies on the menu. I did not try them because breakfast was so large on day one I ordered a full order on day two and three we ordered half orders for breakfast. The restaurant also has cinnamon rolls for large rolls with frosting on top freshly made. they look great. My coffee cup was always filled. They do have tea and hot chocolate on the menu. You can sit at the counter if you'd like, you may want to make a reservation on weekends because it can't be a 20 to 30 minute wait. There's no actual place to wait inside the restaurant and it's cold outside. You'd like to minimize your wait. Reservations are online you may be able to call in advance. Parking is easy centrally located. They have multiple locations but all with a different name same menu though. read more

Came to Village Square for the first time ever. Boy was it crowded. So expect to wait at least an hour when you arrive. I was able to sit with my niece and we had breakfast at the counter which actually saved us wait time. The food was good hometown breakfast cooking. Thick bacon, great fluffy pancakes. They didn't really have any like diet syrup or sugar-free jam, which is often a challenge for me since I am all allergic to sugar. But overall, we had a good time eating there and people watching. Service was average, I wouldn't say anything special or over attentive. I think we got forgotten, even though we were sitting at the counter. I've tried nearly all the sister restaurants (Issaquah, Woodinville, Saw Mill, and this one), and I had my worst experience here. First off, the waitlist time was inconsistent. It said 65 minutes, but we ended up waiting over 1.5 hour. When we finally met the host, she told us we'd get seated in 2 minutes, but it took another 15. It felt pointless to join the waitlist when people who arrived after us were seated before us. The server kept saying "2 minutes" to everyone waiting, which created unrealistic expectations. We ordered an omelette, pancakes, and hash browns. We prefer to order one full dish and split it, rather than paying extra for a half portion. However, the server kept pushing us to get the split option for "better value." The pancakes were the highlight, and the food was good overall. Unfortunately, the poor service really detracted from our experience. I won't be returning to this location. The potions are also quite big so I'd suggest getting the half potions if you're not particularly hungry. The service is a bit slow, or may be the right word is 'relaxed' so don't go if you're in a hurry. There is seating at the bar or inside booths and sometimes outdoor seating as well when the weather is good.
