Cinnamon Swirl pancakes. You can order a short stack.

I love Brunch Cafe and I do frequent another location but the Huntley one just always seems so disorganized to me. The atmosphere is chaotic, the service is slow and it's always busy. I know that's a great problem to have but in the morning the last thing I want is chaos. Sadly, I feel like the food here is just mid. I was with a few people and everyone ordered different items. Yes there was more food than we could eat and it was served hot but just ok on the tastiness scale.

French Toast Trio

Disappointed in French Toast Trio for $15. Three pieces and fake whipped cream. Skip this. The skillets and sandwiches look more worth the money.

So I say the amount that I go in to the restaurant and deliver from the restaurant are pretty equal so I have a good handle on the quality of food given to me by each service. Consistently when I order for delivery the food is wrong, missing items, sloppily put together, or just gross. The same items are not like that when I go into the restaurant. I'm really starting to believe that the time and Care put into the food for inside patrons is not given to those who order delivery. Today I ordered the stuffed waffle. It cost me $18. What I received was a waffle riddled with black specks. And maybe two tablespoons of brunch cream. Definitely not worth the price. I don't know what their beef is with people who want delivery.

Signature Brunch French Toast

The Brunch Cafe serves up breakfast in the Huntley area. For a Saturday morning around noon, the inside was lively and full. There wasn't a wait and service was quick. The interior was clean and didn't look or smell run down. The menu is extensive and offers plenty of options, so it would be hard to not find something you wanted. I went with nachos and blueberry crepes. I didn't care for my breakfast. I will say this was my first time having sweet crepes instead of savory. I don't think I'm a fan of sweet crepes and will stick to pancakes, french toast, or waffles. I was disappointed in the breakfast nachos. First, everything was cooked together which led to moist and soft chips. Second, the chicken was processed, bland, and of low quality. Third, the nachos lacked seasoning like chile powder, cumin, cilantro, and garlic to bring some basic mexican flavors to the dish. The breakfast potatoes were not bad. I tasted the signature french toast and it was different from standard french toast being that it was soaked in a custard. It was desert level sweet but also wet which was something to adjust to. I will say the serving sizes were generous, butI will be fine passing over another breakfast here.

Mimosa Flight

Background: We've been going here a few times a year for approximately 8 years now. Review: The food is mid and is on par with any other breakfast spot around. Nothing stands out. They do have a churro waffle which I don't think any other local places offer. They have a mimosa flight which is okay but there's definitely better ones around (see Maple & Hash right down the road in Pingree Grove). Ambiance: during the week the crowd is definitely more senior focused with Del Webb being so close. The weekends bring about more families & the occasional wait to be seated.

Good food with big portions. It is expensive if you are really hungry I recommend despite the price.

Ok food, high prices...no different than any other trendy breakfast place. Tried it because of the reviews but wouldn't go back.

The food itself was quite good, but the experience was a bit tricky as a gluten-free diner. There are no GF labels on the menu. When I asked our server what I could eat, she initially suggested the gluten-free pancakes and gluten-free toast. However, when I asked if the pancakes were cooked on a separate griddle, she had to check with the manager and confirmed they are not made on a separate surface (though the hashbrowns are cooked separately). Ultimately, they also couldn't toast the GF bread either. I ordered a cheese omelette (cooked in a clean pan) with hashbrowns and untoasted GF bread. While the server wasn't super knowledgeable upfront, I really appreciated her taking the time to verify the kitchen's cross-contamination practices with management. Options are definitely limited, but the meal tasted great. The server also added gluten allergy to the ticket and advised no cross contamination.

I got the vanilla iced latte decaf and i'd give it 7/10, the flavoring was a little off but was still enjoyable. Food wise we got french toast 5/10, bacon 7/10 and a bruschetta wrap 7/10 there was a lot of the balsamic, fries 10/10. French toast just didn't have much flavor and it seemed like just a cinnamon slice of bread. Wasn't giving much french toast vibes like with a brioche piece of bread. I'd give this place another try though as I really love the inside and our server made sure everything was taken care of.

I first had the veggie bliss omelette and the berry bliss pancakes. The omelette was satisfying and the berry bliss pancakes stood out on their own. The fruit and sweet glaze did not require any additional syrup and made for some delicious pancakes. I liked the barbacoa skillet the second time around. I think the meat could have had a little more seasoning , but the side of sour cream and picante sauce helped bring more flavor to the skillet. This time I had plain pancakes and they were no were as good as the berry bliss! Triple Berry is a solid breakfast spot for some good eats.

The staff was warm, friendly, and genuinely attentive -- even on a cold winter morning. That matters. A lot. You can tell they actually care about the people walking through the door and the food was amazing! Allen's has that true home-style, neighborhood diner feeling -- the kind you don't find very often anymore. And let me say this... I've lived in Pingree Grove for three years and somehow never knew this place existed. I've driven past it plenty of times -- blink and you'll miss it -- but now? It's officially one of my favorite local spots. Quick heads-up for first-timers: Bring cash. They're old-school -- and honestly, I respect that. I love supporting local restaurants and knowing more of my money is going directly to the people and the business -- not getting eaten up by unnecessary fees to big companies. Real food. Real people. Real community. This place is exactly what a local diner should be.

We got there at 7:00am on a Friday and we made it just in time, because by 7:30, every seat was taken... including at the counter. It's an intimate and cozy little place, warm and comfortable. The food was great, with huge portions. I got the Neighbor Benedict, which was a mountain of gravy on top of a biscuit, two sausage patties, and two poached eggs and it included a healthy portion of hash browns with onions. The only thing that was a slight bummer was that this place is cash only, and we didn't know that coming in. Thankfully there was an ATM inside, but the fees were high and my bank charges fees on the other side, so the reasonable prices turned out to be just as expensive as anywhere else. I will bring cash next time and upgrade this review to five stars.
