We really liked this place when it first opened up. Went a couple times, however they changed their menu after a while, I think what could have helped is if the menu was new literally that same day, the server should have advised us of that and let us know that the regular items were now cooked differently. I had the opportunity to come out and try Brunch Junkie while I was visiting a friend during my trip to the Baton Rouge area. The directions are pretty simple to get you there but it's kinda hard to find bc its an industrial complex and the sign doesn't really stand out. My friend was already there and had a table so there was plenty of seating. The manager took my drink order and food order and was so friendly. It did take a bit to get the food but it was seasoned really well and the portion sizes were huge. This is definitely shareable food. Brunch Junkie is a restaurant I've visited multiple times for their Chicken and Waffles. The vibe of Brunch Junkie is modern with the graphic designs on the walls, with quick and friendly service. I ordered my food to go and had to wait around 15-20mins. The chicken is crispy on the outside, juicy inside and the waffles are soft yet toasty on the edges, along with the drizzle on the syrup to complement it. The Shrimp and Grits were ok, too creamy not enough grits. Their beignets are a great golden-brown, softly-crunchy, white powdered pastry which goes perfect with the honey. I came back for the fried catfish. Service was fantastic again and not a long wait time given how busy they were. The fried catfish was a little disappointing and a stark contrast to how they fry the chicken that accompanies the waffle. A small layer of partly unfried and somewhat mushy batter/cornmeal was present closer to the white meat of the fish. It just wasn't a thorough and crispy bite of catfish. The fish was seasoned well however. The fries and hush puppies were good. The macaroni and cheese was the David Ruffin of the show this visit. read more

Great brunch super variety of menu items with a new twist. Waffles omelets and lunch items. New Southern take on classic breakfast combos. Crawfish and sausage, potatoes or grits. They had Bottomless Bloody Mary's or mimosas. I had the Bronco platter. I liked it all but the bacon was medium, still soft but great flavor, and I prefer crispy, and will order it well done next time. 5 stars for fast food delivery and great service and the flavors were on point. when we got there and sat down, the table, chairs, and floor were sticky. there was crumbs and syrup left over drom the people who sat before us on the table, so they clearly not cleaned it. there was an emergency loght fixed to the wall that was making a constant and obnoxious clicking sound, rhe entire time we were seated. we waited 45 minutes for our appetizers, and another 45 for our entrees. there was one waitress serving food to the entire resauraunt, though she was very kind and sweet. to compensate for the long wait, we were given some bread pudding for free, which was nice. the food was overall very good, but i dont know if i can say it was worth the wait. Cool vibe! I visited on a Sunday around 11:00am. They open really early which is a plus! My party of 3 were seated immediately. There was nice R&B jazz music playing. Our waiter was friendly. I started with the dessert first, apple pie egg rolls. They took a while to come but the taste definitely made up for the wait!! OMG these are DELICIOUS!! I'm going back just for these! Ambiance is nice, however the service needs more attention. There is a hostess station with no hostess, the waitresses are running all over the place. Patrons aren't being recognized as they come into the establishment in a timely fashion. Food was decent, served in a decent amount of time. Food: Delicious and we'll seasoned. The portions are very big. My favorite thing I ordered was the mac and cheese. Bare in mind that the sea food is very strong here. It tastes fresh, so if you don't like the taste of sea food...I don't know what to tell you haha. The egg rolls were very sweet and flavorful. Glad I gave them a try. The junkie fries appetizer was also good but a bit heavy for an appetizer so I didn't finish it. Service was good. They were super busy and we had initially what was a one-hour wait but we got called when they had a seat for us and we were able to sit like 30 minutes later. We came in around noon to find only one other table occupied. They close at 2m and it seems that people take this for a brunch only place when it's great for lunch. We sat at the bar and were immediately seen. The server was super friendly and quick. Great drink options for a brunch place. The food was insanely good. The boudin balls were huge and about as good as they get. The lobster mac and cheese was so thick with cheese and the gravy on my biscuit was amazing. No complaints and will definitely be back. My family and I went to Brunch Junkie for the first time this weekend. I really wanted to love the food, but I was sadly underwhelmed. I ordered the comfort plate because I love a good biscuit. My chicken was really dry, I couldn't even cut it with my knife. It had a really nice flavor, it was just difficult to eat because of the dryness. The biscuit and gravy was yummy, I just really wish my chicken was easier to eat. I also didn't enjoy the potato's, they had a flavor I couldn't quite pinpoint. My fiance ordered the chicken and waffles and he enjoyed his food. I think his chicken was a bit thicker, making it more juicy. My brother in law really enjoyed his seafood platter, saying he would rate the catfish alone a 9/10. Overall, a decent place to eat but I had higher expectations. Our server was nice and attentive, even for as busy as it was. The ambiance was also really nice - giving a cute and cozy vibe. I loved the jazz covers playing in the background.
