I was looking for somewhere to grab some good breakfast on a solo outing. Yelp helped me locate this establishment that was not too far and I wasn't disappointed. Upon walking in, I felt like I was about to get a New Orleans breakfast plate (IYKYK). There was so much to choose from. I got a few items just to sample. The pancake is huge and yummy. All of the food was good but the customer service was even better. Being allergic to pork, I was skeptical at having a source of meat but grilled chicken is an included breakfast option and they have Patton hot sausage too. The cashier checked out a few ways to ring it up to make sure I had the lowest price and that was amazing! The place is clean and there is good parking and restrooms. Sharon's Kitchen is by far one of the best local spots near Baton Rouge. It was a 20 minute drive but so worth it. This place is no frills, local dining spot, but its food is amazing!! I swear it was like going to a place where a few southern/cajun mothers got together and put out their best down home dishes for everyone to eat!! The service is fast so be ready to order. I had the fried Chicken plate, cause what else do you get when you got homemade cooking options. Skin crackle and juicy flavor were on point!! I also got the Red Beans and rice.. Now I've had red beans and rice before... but never like the kind they serve a Sharon's. My God, the flavor of the two, PLUS they add boudin sausage pieces to it!!! I took one bite and I was hooked. Ok I go exclusively there for breakfast and they have hit it out of the park every single time. I'm a hardcore fan of their Dewey Deluxe sandwich it's just so good. This last time I got me the Pork chop with grits 2 over medium eggs and a coffee, oh boy it was just amazing. The grits were excellent the pork chop was seasoned and fries beautifully and the biscuit was on point. Definitely not for those watching and counting calories but if you want a piece of heaven for breakfast without having to worry about the calories man they got you good here. I love it too that it has that local restaurant flare and for right now they have pick up and drive three only and of cos they enforce the safe measure for this Covid times. I live 15+ miles away. This restaurant does not use delivery services. You can only call in order and pick up. I had heard a good review about the Dewey so I drove all the way there to pick one up. The Dewey wasn't anything special at all. The bread wasn't fresh. Sandwich was dry. Very little mayo. I could've just cooked it at home. read more

My best friend used to get Sharon's Kitchen almost everyday for breakfast in high school and I always wanted to try it but I live on the other side of town. I finally got my opportunity! I went for breakfast and I ordered 3 breakfast in the cup to try the meat options (patty sausage, sausage links, and bacon). The patty sausage I didn't like because it reminded me of Jimmy Dean, but everything else I liked! I will definitely be back and I want to try the lunch. Do not pass this place up. I really want to try this place for breakfast one day. We came here for lunch about 12:30 and the place is packed! Yes there is a drive thru and the inside is also very clean. I used the ladies room and wow, that was one of the cleanest public bathrooms I've been in. It's almost like a Piccadilly on the inside. You can see what food they have to offer that day or you can order a salad or something on their menu. *dont get the salad, I've got it before and this place is not the place to cut calories* my fiancé loves their red beans and rice. Normally he gets their Mac n cheese but today he got their peach cobbler and dark meat fried chicken. And corn bread. I got the dark fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy and fried okra. I asked for both corn bread and a roll but all I got was a roll. Was somewhat disappointed when I opened my box. This place is cheap. Staff is friendly. And is clean. The fried chicken is amazing. We walked in and was greeted to whom I believe is the sweetest lady I met on my whole trip to Louisiana. The food is cafeteria style where you can see what you want before you buy it. Everything is southern home-cooked and the portions are ginormous. The juicy fried chicken was larger than my fist which made me want to eat my fist just looking at it. There is also a menu with po boy sandwiches, cafe items, and (best of all) salads during breakfast! We ended up getting a ceasar salad fit for 3 people and a po boy sandwich the size of my forearm. Definitely enough left over for the plane ride home. And all for dirt cheap. Inexpensive, great food: check. Huge portions: check. Quiet tables to study: check. Friendly service: check. I eat at Sharons's Kitchen about 2 or 3 days of the week. The food is good and the workers are wonderful. It's Sharon that I have a problem with. Of all the 41/2 years I've been going there , Sharon, the owner of the business, has never said " Thank You" to me after I've made a purchase. I really don't know what her problem is with thanking her customers and letting us know we are appreciated.
