The food was incredible! I had the French toast and the bread they use is SO good. My plate was piled high with chicken tenders, bacon, strawberries and a berry turnover on top. I barely ate half of it. A friend got chilaquiles and said they were good. And another friend got chicken fried steak with pineapple upside down pancakes and she loved it. Am I so happy I found Bruncheon on Yelp! Made Sunday brunch plans with the girls so, of course, my job is picking the perfect spot, and job well done! I was specifically on the hunt for a matcha latte for my sister, everyone at the table tried the vanilla matcha latte she ordered and enjoyed it. The food came in massive portions that, to me, make up for what many on here deemed were high menu prices. I had the Texas toast and it was delicious, the bacon was cooked perfectly as well. Like I said, the only thing stopping my 5 stars is the service. There was no wait when we arrived, but we sat for close to ten minutes before a server approached us. I think it was maybe a busboy who asked if we'd been helped after a couple minutes waiting, which I really appreciated. But, once our server began helping us everything was okay! Upon entering I was greeted by one of the servers and sat down next to a rather rowdy group of guys. Not really my preference for a midday bite but I stuck it out. After about 7 minutes the server came over and took my drink order. I studied the menu and saw this amazing dish called Chicken & Apple Dumpling Waffle. As a lover of waffles I knew that was the one! The nova lox omelet seemed healthy, but it could have used more seasoning. It had a good assortment of veggies, though, and the home fries were really good. The crab cake egg benedicts were awesome; we really enjoyed those. The pancakes were decent. The coffee drinks were okay, but with any breakfast place like this, I've never found the espresso-based drinks to be exceptional. Went here on a Sunday afternoon. The parking was close. There is a parking garage that is free to park in behind the restaurant. Once inside we were seated quickly which was a pleasant surprise because it was the afternoon with no reservations. The restaurant itself was decently packed but not too bad. There was a really cute flower wall I should have gotten a picture of. Once seated our waitress gave us plenty of time to look at menus and even made some suggestions. I wanted to try the apple dumpling chicken and waffles but come to find out whatever they use for the apple dumpling was all gone. That was how popular it was that day. Great ambiance, lighting, decor, and a bar that looks like it might serve up more than just mimosas in the future! Service was a bit slow. We had a table of 8 and came here for brunch on a Sunday at 11am. After ordering, it took about 50 minutes for the food to arrive but I understand the place is new and still working out the kinks. Our server was attentive and made sure to update us on the progress and was quick to respond to our additional needs as soon as the food came out (e.g. salsa, extra gravy, etc). Food was delicious! Grits were good but the pork cutlets were perfectly cooked - succulent and tender with a crispy exterior. The biscuits and gravy look plain the photo but the biscuits are delightfully airy and a crisp outside. Only thing I would change is increasing the serving size of gravy. Pancakes are thick but airy. Waffles are on the sweet side so I would take a bite BEFORE adding syrup to see how much more sweetness you want. The yogurt parfait was the dark horse! Much better than expected! I also ordered a side of salsa for the omelette. I didn't realize it but the omelette also came with waffles and a croissant. It was a lot of food to say the least. It appears to be a pretty popular spot, I'd recommend getting reservations in advance if you can. The omelette with the salsa was delightful. The waffle was also pretty good. I took a couple of bites of the croissant and it was very fluffy. We also ordered the fruit which came with watermelon, grapes, pineapple, cantaloupe & strawberries. I have been excited for this place to open and was pretty let down by the first visit.... And I have a hard time rating places low when they are so new, but it needs to be said. We arrived at 9:30 am on a rainy Sunday and were immediately seated. There were only 2-3 other tables taken at the time so the service was prompt and the restaurant was a talking level that ensured we were being heard. Our server was friendly and patient while we reviewed the extensive menu. We decided to get a Canadian breakfast and split it since it was so large, and most of the things on the menu seemed to be large portions... and I got a drip coffee while my friend ordered the vanilla cappuccino. So first I'll start with the good: the coffee was great and I've seen this coffee brand at several of the breakfast places popping up in the area. I was pleased that the service was fast and friendly at this hour. I really enjoyed the pancakes and their fruit cup had a wide variety including strawberry, cantaloupe, pineapple, melon, watermelon, green and red grapes. Now, the less great... our server kept whispering at us even though it was not loud and I suspect either extremely shy or not primary English speaking. Not necessarily a problem until your order comes out pretty dang wrong. So we asked for the Canadian breakfast which comes with 2 bacon, 2 sausage (turkey or regular), 1/2 ham steak, 2 eggs, hashbrowns (or home fries), 2 slices of toast, a fruit cup, and 2 pancakes. My friend asked if we could get turkey bacon instead of regular... and instead of any other meat she brought 6 turkey sausage links (not even what was asked for?)... and we also asked for wheat toast and got white... so we asked for the proper order and I guess she couldn't figure out what the issue was because the manager came over and asked what the problem was, so we explained. They took it back and brought back out .... 10+ mins later? So we had already eaten our pancakes and fruit cup by the time it was back on our table. The hash browns were bland and undercooked, the turkey links and eggs were not very warm, the turkey bacon and ham steak were both edible but not great. Lastly, my friend received a caramel cappuccino instead of vanilla, and said there was no flavor in it and tasted like straight espresso with little milk (she refused to send it back so that's on her). Overall, I would not personally add it as a recommendation to anyone, but would potentially go back and give it a shot if someone else desperately wanted to go... the coffee is definitely good and I can see grabbing that and maybe a muffin or something since it is so close; but the warm breakfast didn't cut it when there are other great places so close (that serve the same coffee).
