Barrels of good times to be had here…read more Everything is barrel strength at Whiskey Thief, so the five sample tasting is quite the gauntlet. I found the high proof points to be draining, and so I can't recommend buying a bottle with my own money. The chocolates are a must pairing. Service, however, is super chill and friendly. The bar is a chill place to hang out afterwards, and the bitter blend for their Old Fashioned is stellar. I also bought a couple bars of soap. Earthy and aromatic!

This was the second stop on our birthday tour through the Louisville bars and distilleries. We were…read moreable to park right outside the distillery in a reserved spot in sort of an alleyway. One of the things they offered in this distillery was a chance to tap right into a whiskey barrel for a flight of 5 different barrels. This was a really cool option but I knew I had a long day and evening ahead of me so I did not give it a try but definitely will be back to give it a go. They also had a chocolate pairing you could purchase with a selection for each barrel. They had a nice little gift shop and we perused what they had to offer and purchased a Glencairn glass for our collection at home. We sat down at the bar to order our cocktails. Valentine's Day (my birthday) had just passed a couple weeks prior and they still had their V-Day special on the menu so I ordered that cocktail. My cocktail was the Crushed Velvet, Whiskey Thief Bourbon, Creme de Cacao, Vanilla liqueur, Luxardo juice, chocolate bitters, and egg whites. It was a fine cocktail although not my favorite of the day. The hubby ordered a Maple Smoked Manhattan which had Whiskey Thief Bourbon, sweet vermouth, bitters, and maple syrup and he said he enjoyed it. Sitting at the bar was nice because they had a huge window open to the outside and you could feel the warmth of the day and a slight breeze. We will definitely be back to try the barrel flight and the chocolate pairing. Nice little place.

Even have some frozen ones as well. The CLEMEN LEMON was amazing! I hope that stays on frozen tap for a while. Close at 9pm. on Friday and Saturdays. Perfect thing to do for a date night or night cap before heading home. Staff were so nice and service was quick at the bar! We can't wait to go back :)

They have a small tasting room, and if you're a sweet wine lover--this is definitely your place. My favorite is the Bella Rose... so good! They do have some dry options, but their sweet and more "exotic" wines really stand out. The wine tasting is such a great deal--only $10 for 6 options, and they even give you a little cup of Goldfish to snack on between tastings (which is actually perfect). They also have a larger space for events, and my friends and I did their spring mat decorating event--it was SO fun and such a cute experience. The only downside was seating for the event--we didn't realize there was a specific process for reserving spots together, so we almost didn't get to sit as a group. Luckily it worked out when someone nearby didn't show up. Overall, such a fun, relaxed spot with great vibes. I'll definitely be back!

What a fun, beautiful, knowledgeable, entertaining wine shop!…read more I visited Wine Shop recently for their trivia night and showing of "You've Got Mail." While I haven't seen this movie in decades, I'm always in for a niche-themed event. And this one was great and lively with fun questions, screening on the patio and themed gift pack. If you see a themed event on the calendar at Wine Shop, go to it! And this quirkiness fits with the rest of the shop as well, with a curated selection of wine to buy by the bottle or glass, bright and colorful interior and fun food options, ranging from cheese boards to a one-of-a-kind instant ramen snack.
