I've recently started experiencing gear slippage and sluggish acceleration in my 2020 Ford Transit Connect. After researching the issue, I found countless reports from other owners describing transmission failures occurring between 60,000 and 100,000 miles on this model. That sounds like it should considered a recall. I reached out to my local Ford dealership to ask about financial assistance through Ford's "Goodwill Assistance" program. My vehicle meets the program's general eligibility criteria--it's under 100,000 miles and less than seven years old. However, I was quoted $9,492.50 for the repair. Without any financial assistance, a repair of that cost is simply out of reach for many people with a median income. At just 94,000 miles and six years old, I never expected to be without a working vehicle due to a major transmission failure. It's incredibly disappointing, especially after learning how many other owners have experienced similar problems. Because of this experience, I've made the decision that my next vehicle will not be a Ford. That decision isn't one I make lightly. I grew up in a Ford family. I've owned and driven Ford vehicles my entire life because I trusted the brand and believed in the quality of its products. I had genuine brand loyalty. I've got a 2018 ford f150 that I installed a level kit on recently, brought the truck in for a alignment, i decided it was more worth my time to have them do it then myself, brought it in with my toe way out and camber dialed right in, service was extremely nice and I left happy thinking I had a good experience, when I got to where I was going after leaving one of my friends there said hey why is your camber way out and you just had a alignment and I look back and my driver side had a bad negative camber to it so I grabbed the alignment sheet and it was at a -6, -7 is considered bad and you want it to be around a -1 I called the dealership back and said look I don't want any money I just want it done properly but I don't wanna pay again for another alignment seeing as you messed it up this time, the service manager said let me go talk to the tech and the tech said oh there was no more adjustment, which fair enough if there wasn't but there was plenty of adjustment left about 3 inches on both sides of the lower control arm, I said this to the service manager and he said look I can sell you a camber kit, which I then said I don't need and if you aren't going to be any help then I am just going to hangup which I did I then brought it into the shop I work at and adjusted it with no camber kit to be right around a -2 and my toe dialed in with it, I'm extremely angry that there was 0 try to help me get it fixed without trying to sell me something, it was extremely disrespectful and the tech needs retrained on how to complete alignments and needs to have some integrity to treat customer cars like his own, I do not care about your flat rate your more then likely getting bad 1.4hrs for that job and you had it back there for no more then a hour. read more

I've owned Multiple F150s over the years. At about 150k mi I started having an issue with the engine. I brought it to this dealership to have them fix the problem. We aren't talking about a small fix either. Major engine work. I understand that problems occur but don't understand how the same problem occurs 3x within a short period. RUDE!! I was in a good mood when I called to ask a question because my insurance company told me to go to them for my repair, but I wasn't sure which department I needed. I started to describe the issue and the receptionist condescendingly said "you need the service department, but he's on the phone right now. Call back in ten minutes *click*" She HUNG UP on me before I could even get out the word "ok", which was going to be followed by a "thank you". A receptionist that hangs up on people? She doesn't deserve her job. Then, I called back later, only to find out she didn't tell me the right department to begin with.... so I get transferred to the body shop. I prefaced my question by stating that I had my car damaged, needed some work and was inquiring on how long it would take because I need a car rental while mine was in the shop. Before I could even say what the work to be done was, the $^@%* on the other end says with an attitude, "Well that's a very unfair question. I don't even know what's wrong with your car[...]" He was less of a &^%$ after he shut up long enough for me to continue where I left off to describe what the issue was, but too little too late. I purchased a C-MAX from Bob and Zuddy at Bob Gillingham Ford. I suspect most people purchase this vehicle for personal use but I purchased it for our business. The main reason we purchased it; fuel efficiency. You see, we drive to our clients homes for fireplace estimates and repairs...and log a ton of miles per year. We have been averaging 47 miles per gallon! In addition, the seats fold down to create ample room for a tool bag and parts. It is actually a great commercial vehicle! I took my 2013 Fusion to Gillingham when the engine overheated. Both times the service department didn't earnestly listen to what I described had been happening and failed to identify the problem, and sent me on my way. When the engine overheated for the third time, I had it towed to Liberty Ford where they listened carefully to what I described and investigated similar problems and complaints with Ford. Liberty found that my engine needed replaced because coolant was leaking into the cylinders causing the false overheating warnings. Fortunately, it was still under the drive train warranty so Ford replaced my engine. Unfortunately, Gillingham did not find and solve the problem after two attempts to do so. I recommend Liberty Ford in Parma Heights for service issues - not Gillingham. read more

My 2011 Ford Ranger has some recalls that needed to be done. I had called Autonation 3 times. Each time I asked for the service department and it rang approximately 10 times and then would ring back to the operator. She answered my call in the ring back as if I had just called and asked how she could direct my call. I laughed and told her I still would like the service department. I eventually would hung up. I ultimately called on three separate occasions over two days. Each time was as the same as the first call. I called Gillingham Ford and was taking care of immediately and the phone call lasted a total of two minutes. Made an appointment for 3 days later. These people are great! Fast, efficient and friendly. Unfortunately I can't recall any names. I spoke with a woman on the phone and a gentleman when I arrived. Keep up the grand customer service! In the waiting room a man came over and asked us (my wife and I) if he could do anything to help us, we asked him to check on the time it would take for our car to be finished, he came back a said it was going to take longer than expected. I have listened to a lot of radio commercials where they are praised to the heavens by the radio host so I thought I'd try them The salesman must have thought he was Don Rickles. WE WILL NEVER TAKE ANY OF OUR CARS THERE EVER AGAIN!! They called my hubby after a few hours and told him they did some "diagnostics" and couldn't figure out why the moonroof leaks. Also, they wanted something like $700 to fix the mirror. SEVEN HUNDRED TO FIX A MIRROR???? My hubby went online and found the mirror on ebay for $70. We'll buy the mirror and take it to our neighborhood garage to have it put on. Oh, and the "diagnostics" they did on the moonroof? They found nothing but proceeded to charge over $100 for their worthless diagnostics!! So we pretty much handed over $100 to them for absolutely nothing. NEVER AGAIN!! I am writing to let you know what a great job Joe and his team did to repair my 2019 Fusion Hybrid. I was in an accident in early January where I was hit from behind, resulting in a considerable amount of damage to the back end and right quarter panel.
