I had been walking past Peak Dental for many years and wanted to give them a try. Thank goodness I did. I have, as many people do, anxiety going to the dentist and it was all taken away in my first visit. Just the kindest, most attentive people I have ever met in dentistry. Sunrise Village Dental is just around the block and super convenient. Dr. Nguyen was very informative and communicated issues she uncovered as she went through the check up. Not only did she do an excellent job of cleaning my teeth but she made me feel comfortable and at ease. I left feeling informed and knowing how to better care for my teeth. Now the previous dentist I had. They did text to communicate when I first signed up just before covid, but, either that employee did it on her own phone. or they stopped using the service they used to use to text me. either way. they would call me for appointments. and miss me as I was at work couldn't take the call. and when I called back it would go to voicemail. and they don't seem to email. so I got a missed call during work. and by the time I remembered about it and called back they were closed. couldn't recall if I had an appointment that weekend or not but I knew I had one in Aug...... decided I needed to find a dentist that texted emailed and actually answered their phones. so. why did I give them 5 stars when they told me it was 1 visit and now I have to come back for another hour of cleaning? the hygienist.... wouldn't budge. she told me it needed more than 1 hour cleaning. and she wasn't willing to sacrifice my teeth to accommodate my demands. she got receptionist in to talk sense in to me. and when that didn't do the trick they then got the dentist in. to talk to me. and finally I just agreed. NOT because they bully me, but because they cared enough to say NO, no we are not squishing 2 hours of much needed dental cleaning into a 1 hour slot. I am happy they cared enough to stand their ground. I really liked her cleaning pace. I didn't feel apprehensive because I could mentally follow along with where she was cleaning. she rocks! dentist was awesome too. came in. made sure I knew what the game plan is. when I come back again. and what we doing to make sure I stay on top of areas. Koodos to the guy who did my X-rays. it's not easy squishing those wings in there at just the right spot. he took his time. and it went well. I felt good I didn't feel nervous. And the receptionist team were amazing I left them figuring out billing for my two insurance there was something iffy about who to bill how much or something. Hahaha. This is my go to place for dental work and I really recommend it! The location is very convenient…read morebecause it is right next to the broadway city hall station and close to many other bus stops. It is located inside the city square mall. The dentist and all the other staff are very friendly and make you feel very comfortable. I go there for routine cleaning, they always make sure to follow up with you if its been more than 3 or 4 months since your last clean up. They are not pushy, just gentle reminders which I appreciate. The past weekend I had a massive toothache so I contacted them on a Saturday and they got back to the same day and gave me an appointment for that Monday. When I went in for the check up, they said I needed an emergency root canal and got me in the very next day at another clinic. The MOA called around 4-5 dental centres trying to get me in, really appreciated her efforts. Best part, they direct bill to your insurance company which saves you a lot of the time! Would definitely recommend them for your dental work.

He said we need to do a root canal now. So I made an appointment but I missed it due to a family emergency. So after taking the Antibiotic for a week, the pain came back after a month and I made an appointment to see him. I walked in the clinic, from his secretary to dental hygienist and the dentist himself were after me for missing the appointment and dr yu clearly said "I am not lecturing you but as business person I lost the sale and had to pay my staff. You should have given us 24 hr notice to cancel so I could have used that time and I lost so much money because of you guys....and you got the estimate for your daughters Invisalign and never got them done". We have been going to this dentist since 2002, we don't have any dental insurance and we have to pay each time from my pocket. For my daughter I paid whatever the consultation was but he quoted an amount that I couldn't afford at that moment so we never anything done from him or any others dentist. For my husband he said it will be cheaper if you just get filling done for now but you need a root canal as it would be cheaper to just have the filling done. He charged me 380 dollars and for root canal it would only be another 300. He didn't give me any price point if though I asked him twice. And now the pain I had gone through for about 2 weeks and now again I am in pain or a week. Who is accountable for the pain I am going through. He just cares for money that's it. He is just a business man not a dentist.

One memorable experience: After I experienced some jaw pain, I came to see her to check things out. My teeth were all fine, so nothing she could do, but she suggested I go to a RMT who specializes in intra-oral massage. I had NEVER heard of this before, but I went to the specific RMT she mentioned and it was life changing. Seriously. After just one session, my jaw pain was gone. I was so relieved and grateful! If Dr Lee hasn't suggested that, I'm not sure what I would have done.

Why patient need gloves and why not keep my own mask? My teeth cleaning done in 45 minutes with X-rays and exam but guess what was the billing -- exam, 4 X-rays (bite one), 3.5 units for scaling and floride coat .. when I argued that it's over and illegal billing, apparently Dr Lee made the staff bill template and it's set. Everyone must bill 3.5 unit of scaling along with other procedures as a must.. is it legal? Or over billing? Shouldn't be it as work and time needed? It's about making more money

I get that she's just doing her job, but some people have different circumstances. The first time she said it, ok, but after the third time, it was EXTREMELY annoyingly. She showed no empathy/compassion and probably just thought I was making excuses. Needless to say, I was not impressed with her attitude and lack of respect. My previous dentist was knowledgeable and encouraged me to keep my teeth healthy, but had a way of being really nice about it and never made me feel terrible. Even when I showed hesitation in getting my wisdom tooth extracted (I was clearly nervous) and asked her what my options were, she very plainly said, "you can do nothing or get it removed!". Like I know that Sherlock; I was looking for more information and reasoning. One of the worst dentists I've encountered and lacks experience in patient care and bedside manner. Do not recommend - seek an alternative dentist. I will say though that the receptionists were very kind, courteous and attentive. They answered my questions politely and respectfully.
