I have never been so disappointed by a make-up artist. I requested a NON-BRIDAL makeup and hair look 5 months ago for a small family get together at my house. It is just a dinner with immediate family so I did not need a full on bridal look. I showed Alveena some pictures and she agreed to charge me $120 for non-bridal hair and makeup. My dinner is on labor day weekend so we booked the date/time and came to a formal agreement. 5 months later, it is now the end of July and Alveena asks me what kind of dinner it is. I explained that I recently got engaged but my family was not present so they are hosting a small dinner for my relatives at their home. She says that if it's an engagement party then she must charge me for a bridal look-see over $300. I explained that I don't need a very formal look and am only interested in non-bridal hair and makeup. The pictures she agreed on were not bridal but now she wants to charge me $300 for the exact same look. Absolutely ridiculous. I was in full panic mode because I am now left without a makeup artist on a peak weekend with only a month left. Thank God I found someone else so quickly. She did my cousin's makeup and is much more professional and will not leave you hanging at the last minute. Screw Alveena. She has no sense of customer service and just tries to rip you off. She agreed that the pictures were not bridal but tried to force me to pay $300 just because my parents are having an informal dinner at their house for my engagement. Crazy b****. read more
