When I sent a message through Yelp requesting information on airbrush, she responded as soon as possible via text message and we were able to meet the next day for an appointment. There's such fun knickknacks in the store as well from accessories, tanning lotion, Mugs, etc. If you're looking for a place that has additional services besides tanning like nails, eyelashes, salon, this is the place! Parking is really easy throughout the day because it's right on the corner of a neighborhood street. I discovered brushed studios when I lived in Huntington Beach, and now that I live 30 minutes away I still make it a point to only come here for my spray tans. They have a primer, the color, and then concealer to keep the spray tan in place and dark for as long as possible. I've never found a place that cared about your tan as much as they do. I looked up places on Yelp for a spray tan and saw Brushed Studios. I live locally and have driven past this location numerous times and due to their outstanding reviews, I decided to give them a shot as my first time ever. I contacted this business through Yelp and the owner responded to my message, giving me her personal cell number to text. She guided me through the whole process. I found out later that she's currently on vacation, yet still took the time for her customers, thank you Donna!! After setting up an appointment, I called Cheyenne and she was the sweetest ever. She told me what to expect, what to do beforehand, and any question I had, she answered without me having to ask. I did a full nude spray tan and honestly thought I would have been uncomfortable. I couldn't have been more wrong! Cheyenne knows what she is doing and it wasn't awkward at all! If I could give a higher rating, I would. This place is exceptional! Super clean throughout, the check in process is very easy, everything is already set up, Cheyenne mixes a personalized color of your choice, and the spray is quick (about 5-10 minutes). I had eyelash extension applied. Before the application I filled out a form and noted that I am allergic to some adhesives. The form was not shown to the woman who applied my lashes. I went about 10 days with taking Benadryl on a nightly basis to make the itchy eyes tolerable. Finally by day 14 they felt normal. The day before my fill appointment I texted with the owner telling her I had a reaction to the initial application and to please be sure and tell the woman who does my fill that I need glue for sensitive skin. She assured me that she would. I get to my appointment and the lash lady knew nothing about my request and stated she had no other glue. I stupidly allowed her to do the fill. I woke up the next morning with my eyes almost swollen shut. I again reached out to the owner saying that I needed them removed immediately that my reaction was much worse. She was slow to respond and told me to take a allergy pill and cortisone cream. I finally had to find another salon who could take me in same day to have them removed. I have any eyelash extensions in the past and have never had such a reaction. read more

I had an exceptional experience here today getting my lashes filled by Tien. She is very meticulous and made my lashes look completely flawless. I'm obsessed with volume lashes, they are so thick and look amazing. My lashes were a little sparse, so I was happy to get in so quickly because I initially made an appointment for two weeks from now. The owner keeps very good communication with customers, I was texted back right away about scheduling an appointment and was able to be seen right away because of a cancelation. Cheyenne, the assistant is also very friendly and plays great music! I was so relaxed while getting my lashes done. My normal lash lady in Irvine is booked until October and because of this phenomenal experience, I'm glad I found a new place. Brushed is my new go-to spot in OC for lashes. Beware! In my opinion the owner, Donna, is dishonest and a horrible business owner. Be careful when making an appointment with a certain lash technician, she will change your technician without notice. I told the front desk attendant that I thought it was deceptive to change ones technician w/out prior notice. This place is a hole in the wall, old and very dirty. She called me and actually lied on the phone twice. Once saying she had personally booked my appointment. I had to remind her she was lying on the bed getting her lashes done when I was at the front making my appointment. She also told me she had text messages from me agreeing to this new tech - where are those texts? I can screen shot everything. This will be my 6th year getting leashes and I've never had an experience like this. No sweat off my back, lash studios are a dime a dozen. read more

I highly recommend this salon as they use LashBox lashes which are in my opinion one of the top notch lashes to use for super volume extensions. Oh the lash gods have landed at brushed studio! I have been searching ... and searching ... and searching (!!) and i have found my place | person. Tien is the BEST! Gentle touch, perfect shape and length. I barely lose any lashes ... i spin 3-4 days a week and still BARELY lose any lashes. I have never been happier. Service is so important to me. Obviously in the case the spray tan is as well. So- the spray tan went well and Donna was very nice- the tan worked out looking nice after about 2 days. What didnt work out to well for me was the timing. I had called a day or two before my appointment and asked about timing, what time I would be gone, etc. as I had to get home to relieve my babysitter. So going off of Donnas reccomendation I made a 3:30 apt to be home by 4. (i just live down the st) I arrive at 3:25- and she's just starting someone!!!! The lady in the front was like dont worry she'll be quick... And then you pay- and tip! I prepayed for a treatment after the spray tan that I didnt have enough time to do... I went back in for my tan at 3:48- totally rushed. So- tan was good, but the whole making me wait 20 min. and making me late means I probably wont be back. read more

I've had a lot of spray tans over the last few years... NONE of them have ever turned out as perfect and natural as when Donna does them. Other places always make me too dark or uneven or blotchy looking. Donna is a master in the tanning industry... She knows EVERYTHING about products and techniques and clearly has a passion for it. She has a state of the art spray tan machine that blows warm air... You wouldn't know how awesome that is unless you've had a regular spray tan in the past where you freeze! She even heated the room up for me before I got there so I would be comfortable! Speaking of comfortable... Donna is absolutely gorgeous... When I first met her I though I would feel awkward and embarrassed having her see me pretty much naked. Not at all! She really put me at ease. She sprayed me for my wedding and did my mom and all my bridesmaids as well and everyone LOVED her! (Spray tans were part of my gift to my 'maids). 2 of my bridesmaids bought bikinis from her too! I don't have a bikini body so I can't speak from experience, but both my friends looove them and look great in them! All in all - I will never go elsewhere for a tan! read more

From my memory, you get a deal on tans for writing a good yelp review, so keep that in mind while reading and making your decision. Ok, so my spray tan appointment was a while ago. In May my boyfriend was being discharged from the military, and we were driving across the country from DC to HB, with many stops along the way. I didn't want to worry about my white skin in the beginning of summer, and yelp reviews for this place and Donna was wonderful, so I booked my appt and in I went. THE WORST SPRAY EVER! I even made it a point to inform her my primary concern areas were legs and arms, as I wasn't planning on doing much bikini dwelling. At the end when she stepped out to allow me to get dressed, I checked out my legs and they were striped as a Zebra! I asked her to go over once more, and she did, but it didn't really help. Maybe the terrible flourescent lighting in the tiny spray area is a problem, I'm not sure. I turned COMPLETELY ORANGE and was so embarrassed during my trip, it was horrible. At one point my boyfriend said he was "gonna squeeze me and turn me into orange juice". Just terrible. This was not my 1st, 2nd, or 3rd spray, so I know I did everything right in the way of caring for my tan. Also, you pay for your tan (which means you tip) BEFORE you receive your services. I thought this was sort of odd, but figured I was in good hands. HELL NO. I believe I tipped 10$ on top of the 45 or whatever it cost and I got sprayed orange. I would never go back, EVER. read more
