8/28/21: I visited this food truck during an International food festival in downtown Raleigh today. I loved ice cream. Who doesn't? I got a waffle cone With cookies and cream ice cream & hot fudge. You really can't go wrong here. It's not complex. When I tasted it, it just didn't taste right to me. I can't really explain it. Maybe it was because the cookies were just mush & there was no texture. I get the same thing other places and the cookies are crunchy still. I ate a little bit of this and ended up throwing it away. Even with the cone, it didn't give me what I was craving. I usually go to Coldstone or Baskin Robbins when I get this. Maybe another flavor would be better. I just didn't enjoy my experience. The service wasn't the best either & maybe that was because of the number of customers waiting to be served. Maybe they were overwhelmed. I don't know. I just didn't feel very welcomed. read more

Have been here several times. Always clean and pretty well run. Stopped by because I saw that they carried Indian ice cream flavors. I've tried the paan (betel leaf & rose with fennel seeds & tutti-frutti ) one before & it was delicious so this time we tried the sitafal (custard apple) and the rajbhog (vanilla with saffron, pistachios, almonds & cashews). Also got the chocolate peanut butter pretzel. These all definitely did not disappoint! We all got regular sizes in waffle cones & they were super generous!! The rajbhog is a new favorite for me! It was delicately flavored and very generous with whole pistachios, cashew & almond pieces. Brusters has a good selection, they let you sample before you buy, and in general have everything expected in a traditional ice cream shop. There's about two dozen flavors that include sorbet, sugar free, yogurt, Italian ice and sherbet. Get a plain cone, waffle cone, cake cone, or get a cup, add some mix-ins even. It'll taste good. If you've been to the Brusters in north Raleigh, then you already know what to expect. If you've never been there, then this will be a treat. I think its overpriced ice cream, but it's far less tempting than having a freezer full of ice cream for those midnight cravings. Here you have to work to get it -- get dressed, grab the keys, drive, get out, see the world, interact with real people... You know what I mean. It's a small price to pay overall. So glad to see this chain is finally expanding in the Triangle. Now mind you, I'm not much on chains, but I'll make an exception for Bruster's. The ice cream is delicious. Very smooth and creamy and tons of flavors and not all your run of the mill either. They always have two fat free, no sugar added flavors too. You'll only see them listed on the menu, not in the case with the regular flavors, but they'll still let you taste test them along with any of the others. On Thursday's if you bring your own banana a banana split is half price! Deal! I appreciate the indoor seating as well as outdoor tables with umbrellas too. We each had a different flavor, and I always order a child's portion as I'm fat enough already, and a little ice cream goes a long way to sate my sweet tooth. The two flavors were OK, but nothing to write home about. When I had to cough up over $10 for one child's scoop in a tiny cup and one small one-scoop and a topping, I knew I'd never be back. I then returned to the car while my husband waited for order because I'm disabled and needed to sit. This place was a late night hidden gem that we ran into after a friend recommended it to us. Glad we made it 20 mins before closing and everyone in our group spanning 3 generations were completely blown away by the freshness and deliciousness of the ice cream. I highly recommend the "pan ice cream"...pan being an Indian refreshment that is usually served after a meal to clean ones palate. The fact that they were able to infuse that flavor into an ice cream is pure genious. If you go to India the closest thing one could get is ice-pan, where the betel leaves are rested on ice to give that chilling effect, so to taste this pan ice cream definitely tops it all. I know this is a chain but the ice cream wa delicious. I had the banana chocolate and it was amazing. There were real bananas, not banana flavoring and generous pieces of semi sweet chocolate My husband had the almond chocolate coconut and it was delicious, again generous with the mix ins. My daughter had the salted caramel which was too salty for my taste but the death by chocolate was rich without being overpowering. We will definitely be back! read more

When you walk in you can smell the fresh waffle cones being made! So delicious. There was limited seating, especially if you come with a larger party. The staff was extremely friendly and patient which is always a plus when you have a 5 year old who can never make up their mind.
