I found Scratch batch while on the yelp app in a parking lot and I honestly thought it may have been closed, and when I found the area Scratch batch is located, I really thought it was closed, because this lot is pretty abandoned. Staff were friendly and excited a customer who didn't know about them found them. They do cater but sell slices of cake as well, and I got a slice of one of their red velvet cream cheese cake ($5.50). That's basically a red velvet sandwich with a cream cheese layer in the middle, AND cream cheese frosting. Flavors were pretty good! Cake slice was pretty big, and while it wasn't as moist as others I have, I think that's because their slices were stored in the refrigerator and just came out of the fridge. Interior is pretty small. No tables, no chairs, this is a get it and go establishment. They also sell cupcakes but no coffee/beverages. Parking isn't an issue here because sadly, the Diamond Plaza just holds Scratch Batch Cakes, a computer repair shop and one other store...everything else is empty. This plaza is off of Covington Highway, just before you reach Glenwood Road (right across the street from the Chevrolet dealership). Getting into the lot is easy. Getting out of the lot sucks though, especially if you're turning left towards I-285's direction. At the end of the day, I like this small business that's been around for about a year and a half. Stop on in and show them some love!

On this day, I tried the seasonal raspberry cheesecake just scoop. The shop was empty, except for me coming in and giving it a try, and I was able to sample as many options as I wanted to, with the employees happily allowing it. What differs from the original shops up north versus the one here is the amount of seating inside there were plenty of tables to enjoy with your whole family, friends, or alone like me! I opted for something new and boy am I glad I did. The sweetness of the raspberries and the chunks of cake made this such a fun treat and really encapsulated the season. There's a lovely mural tribute to the location across the wall that I took a picture of to share with my family as well. I can't wait to come back and try more flavors whenever I'm needing a piece of home in my heart.
