Love this little ice cream shop!…read more I've visited Butter & Cream before, but my latest visit was a favorite. After spending a sunny afternoon celebrating my besties birthday with her and a few of our girlfriends, we decided to keep the fun going with some ice cream. Never too old for a random sweet treat! Although we were already in the neighborhood, we lucked up on a day when everybody and their mama were outside, which meant limited parking. So we had to pay for parking on this visit, but ended up making it worthwhile by strolling around Decatur Square with our cones. I When we entered, there was one employee behind the counter and they were so kind. There were a few customers in front of us and some behind us in line, so apparently we weren't the only adults in the city who were craving a sweet treat. The store was so cute and covered in art and clocks created with ice cream scoops. We decided to taste a few flavors that were new to us and the employee was so patient with us. We all decided to go with the honeycomb flavor, and I added on a scoop of strawberry because I believe in treating myself. I was bummed that they didn't have sugar cones, but a waffle cone worked. My ice cream was SO good! And they were quite generous with the scoops. As I'm writing this out, I'm wanting a fresh pint of my own again. Such a great stop when you're craving something sweet!

Staff was very friendly and answered my questions about what some of their flavors and what was in them. Generous portions and the ice cream was very good! I can't recall the name but the ice cream I chose had cake pieces, cookie dough pieces, and brownie pieces! The store isn't overly large but they do have some seating inside for those hot nights and a bench outside to sit on as well!

Great place to hang out and chill for a bit. --Service/Staff-- The staff was awesome, shoutout to the owner, but they were on top of their game in getting you in and out quickly. --Products/Service-- This is cereal heaven where you can get any type of cereal you want and put in your own toppings. --Capacity-- Indoor capacity can hold 40 people snuggled together. --Overall-- This is your place if you love cereal and this is the new dessert go to. My sweet tooth found a new happy home! The Cereal Lab is…read moreexactly what I've been missing in my life -- fun, flavorful, and Black-owned (so you know I had to show support!). From the moment we walked in, the variety of cereals on display was enough to make any cereal lover swoon. Pro tip: if you see it on the shelf, they've got it -- don't limit yourself to what's behind the counter. My fiancée found a Groupon (wallet win!), but honestly, I'd pay full price without hesitation -- it was that good. After sampling a few ice cream options, I went with the Oatmilk Cream Pie, which turns out is a staff favorite -- and I totally get why. For my cereal mix-in, I chose the Cookies and Cream Frosted Flakes (yes, you read that right ). We noticed they were running a little low on toppings -- we came later in the day -- but thankfully they weren't out of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. I topped mine with a drizzle of peanut butter, which threw me off at first because it was black in color (I thought it was chocolate!), but nope, it was peanut butter and it was delicious. We got our creations in handmade waffle cups, which added an extra layer of yum. It wasn't super busy, but our order still took a little while -- not a dealbreaker though, especially since it gave us time to snap a few photos. Parking nearby was only $3, so no complaints there. Can't wait to return and experiment with more combos! The Cereal Lab is a sweet spot I'll be recommending to everyone.

While my dietary restrictions didn't allow me to partake, the girls and bestie enjoyed their treats. They just had ice cream and cones. We agreed that we'd have to come back a different time to try the donut/ice cream sandwich! There is a parking garage next to this storefront that is partially public parking and partially residential. The public parking is three dollars for 30 minutes. You have to pay it on your cell phone, and they charge a $1.20 service fee. So 30 minutes of parking is actually $4.20. This was just enough time for us to go inside order sit to eat and get back to the car with five minutes to spare. Luckily, we went in during a slow period, because we were able to order right away. Also, there is only bar top seating with four barstools, so it was the perfect amount of seats for those in my group who were eating. Most people who came behind us did a grab and go.

It's a part of a short strip of restaurants and it was an interesting walk into the ice cream shop to say the least. I mean there were young people outside screaming about shooting someone with their own gun.... hmm. Most of the restaurants (but not sweet stack) had an officer on duty which says a whole lot. The ambience once we entered was also pretty rough. Very sticky with a film over everything. They surely have a gnat problem. This place needs a good cleaning. Customer service was virtually nonexistent even before we arrived; I had called beforehand to make sure they didn't mysteriously close early as many ATL spots tend to do, and the woman on the line sounded absolutely miserable that I even asked. That energy was felt firsthand inside. But I'll give them a fair rating because their brownie sundae was good, and my husband enjoyed what he got as well. Good portions for the price. Extra points for being open kinda late. It just wasn't memorable because the environment was quite depressing. Last resort, not my first option.
