    Gelato flavors!

The Sicilian Baker is an Italian dessert and coffee counter attached to the Sicilian Butcher. They have gelato (ice cream) and homemade cannolis with a multitude of fillings. In addition, there is tiramisu, traditional Italian cookies, Sfogliatelle (lobster tails), cheesecake, and more. They have a great happy hour Monday-Thursday from 1-5 PM where you can get $1 mini cannolis and $2 scoops of gelato. We had the torta lemon pie gelato which was vanilla with real chunks of the dessert mixed it - absolutely delicious! I also ordered a mango sorbet which was blended with real mango. They were both 10/10! I also ordered an iced latte with almond milk and pistachio syrup. The espresso beans were a dark Italian roast - high quality and yummy! Cute and delicious dessert and coffee counter. I would absolutely recommend this spot for a sweet treat!

Omg! The best cannolis around. I love the ambience, it's a whole wonderful experience. I love me a authentic dessert and well let's just say this place fulfilled every single taste bud. I took some treats to go but the fact that they have a whole section bar dedicated to cannoli fillings is awesome. They do offer other options, I will attach the pictures below. My husband and I sat in our car and ate almost everything we bought that was supposed to make it home. Great place will visit again soon, maybe today. I appreciate a great place!

Maya was so sweet and patient. There are so many desserts to choose from. I ended up with the tiramisu and cannoli. They were both very good. I would highly recommend this place.

Not sure why my original review didn't post completely so here it is. What a cute little spot connected to The Sicilian Butcher. We came in to try some coffee, but after eyeballing so desserts I opted for a mini cannoli too. Both our hot and iced coffees were phenomenal, the cannoli to die for and service amazing. I love how happy everyone seemed to be. We are already talking about our next visit! give me all the treats!

This place is a little gem. The desserts are very good and fresh. We tried the lobster roll, Napolean, lemon meringue, chocolate hazel nut mousse and the Italian wedding cookie. Every dessert we tried was delightful and so yummy. The cookie was just ok. I thought it was on the plane side; I thought it would be better. Anyhow, this dessert place is really good. I will definitely come back.

If you know, you know, Sicilian Bakery doesn't just make desserts, they create masterpieces. Their chocolate mousse is a dream, and absolutely unforgettable. And don't even get me started on the Napoleon, layers of perfection so delicate and decadent, it should be a love language. Truly the best you'll ever taste.

The mini cannoli was what I was craving for ever since I heard about this place... and they are sooo tasty! But holy moly, the traditional ones are almost 3 times the size (not pictured). My friends and I sat inside, but they had outdoor seating as well. I love their hanging rolling pins and mixing bowl heads (is that what you called them? lol) as decorations, and I could not stop staring at them! Service was a bit lacking. When we arrived, there were no greetings, both staff members were seem to be in the zone on their non-guests-serving tasks. There was no direction on who to ask for help or where to pay. This was about 2:15pm, so there wasn't a rush. It felt more like a transaction than an experience.

This was our first time trying The Sicilian Baker. The gelato really stood out super smooth and flavorful! The pastries were okay, not bad but nothing that wowed us. It is a smaller spot, and while they do have indoor and outdoor seating, the experience felt a bit rushed when we were ordering. Maybe it was a busy time, but it definitely took away from the relaxed bakery vibe we were hoping for. Still, the gelato alone is worth coming back for. We'll probably give it another try at a less busy time.

The tiramisu is to die for the service has been great thanks to Emma and Maya. Also try their lobster tails.

After eating at the restaurant, it was only natural to peruse their Sicilian Bakery attached to the restaurant. One of the cashiers was helping the bar with drying some wine & beer glasses when they weren't busy at the bakery. Cannolis, pastries, cookies, gelato, etc. There is so much to look at. We couldn't get a cannoli because we were too full. They did look delicious and was very tempting. We settled on... LOBSTER TAIL: buttery flaky dough, nutella, or vanilla custard (5/5). Wow, this was so crispy, buttery, and flakey throughout! Each bite was crunchy. The custard cream was delightfully decadent. FLAG COOKIE: soft, fluffy almond cake layers all covered in a smooth layer of rich chocolate (3.5/5). It was good, but maybe a bit firm from the refrigeration. The best I had was in NYC.

So the food was on point. The pine nuts with the olives and the sauce with the peppers, amazing! And, don't get me started about the cheese and the main dish...I swear there was a sweet but tangy spice that made for a fun complexity. Definitely will be back! Espresso on point with a yummy surprise cookie to boot. Mike our server was the best. It's so nice having an amazing server who knows the menu. Just eat anything he recommends! Love this place.

A West Valley Gem Packed with Flavor, Charm, and Plenty to Discover…read more If you've ever driven past that bright pink building on the corner of 101st and Grand Avenue in Sun City and wondered, "What's in there?" let me save you the suspense: it's the New York West Bakery, and it's absolutely worth pulling over for. In fact, I've made the hour-plus drive each way more than a dozen times just to visit. Whenever I find myself anywhere in the West Valley, this place is a mandatory stop. I've taken countless photos of my visits because there is always something new to see, taste, or admire. Under its new ownership, New York West Bakery has evolved into a wonderfully unique fusion-style café. The menu is delightfully unexpected, featuring everything from traditional breakfast favorites and homemade tamales to incredible Vietnamese Banh Mi sandwiches. If I can dig up some of my photos, I'll add them because these sandwiches deserve their own spotlight. The transformation isn't limited to the menu. The Interior: Spotlessly clean. During one recent visit, I watched an energetic staff member carefully mopping the floors and making sure everything looked perfect. It's obvious they take pride in the place. The Exterior: They've added a charming outdoor patio complete with colorful umbrellas, comfortable seating, and newly planted trees that will provide even more shade as they grow. It's a fantastic addition and makes for a relaxing place to enjoy a pastry and coffee. The Food: Where This Place Really Shines When New York West Bakery gets it right, they absolutely knock it out of the park. Their fruit tarts are hands-down some of the best I've had in years. They're fresh, beautiful, bursting with flavor, and surprisingly affordable for the quality you're getting. Best of all, everything is made from scratch, which shows in every bite. The newer savory menu items are also a huge win. Their Vietnamese Banh Mi sandwiches deliver serious value. They're enormous. Honestly, one sandwich is big enough to share and still leave you feeling satisfied... or at least leave just enough room for dessert. And speaking of dessert, I have to mention those fruit tarts one more time. They're that good. My wife Lucy absolutely loves them. In fact, "love" might be an understatement. If fruit tarts had a fan club, she'd probably be the president. New York West Bakery continues to grow and evolve, and it's exciting to watch. Between the friendly atmosphere, expanding menu, beautiful patio, and from scratch-made baked goods, it's become one of my favorite hidden gems in the Valley.

Update: June 2026 The new owners have expanded into more of…read morea café than a bakery, and a fusion one at that since you can get Vietnamese Banh Mi sandwiches, tamales, and traditional breakfasts. I love that they added outdoor seating with cheery umbrellas and have planted trees to provide additional ambiance and shade, although the highway noise will always be problematic. The inside is spotless and while I was there a friendly staffer was keeping it that way by energetically mopping. Sadly, the St. Joseph's pastry I had had a tough not flaky or crisp shell, but the ricotta filling was light and good. I was so looking forward to the poppy seed bread but when I got it home and cut into it, the filling was not spread out throughout the bread and there wasn't much of it. The bread itself was not tear apart tender, but dry. I saved it by slathering butter on it and lightly toasting it, but that shouldn't have been necessary. For the prices, everything should have been top notch or marked down and labeled as day-olds. I'm curious about the breakfast and lunch café options, so I'll probably go back to give them a try, but note that the prices have increased by more than a few cents per item since the 2025 someone else posted, so check for the latest. Maybe they are trying to do too much and should limit the variety and be known for a few super delicious items that are always fresh and superior to what you could get in a supermarket. Having a few signature items and being the go-to place during special holidays would help define them, and please, please FRESHNESS is crucial--maybe the products are just drying out more because we're in AZ, but I'm not the only one mentioning dried out items.

Ate the cream horn immediately in the parking lot - delish. Loved the churro, which was maybe a foot long! Enjoyed the guava empanada as well. Concha was nice and soft, all the flaky pastries were amazing. Total was just under $17 (7 items) with cream horn being around ~$4.
