It is hard to rate Town East Mall when there are so many great franchises that reside in this…read moreestablishment. The reason for the low rating is that the management does not value the money the franchises are giving them by using some of the money to keep up the grounds which includes security and managing the restrooms. Is there security, yes. Are they helpful, no. They either stand up as a group and chat or sit in their vehicle rather than patrolling the grounds and deterring bad behavior. Moreover, the restrooms are out of order, with no regular maintenance to ensure they stay clean and well stocked. (See pictures of how the men's restroom looked for the week of Black Friday and how much worse it got by the Christmas holidays.) I feel the store options in this mall is top quality, yet the management needs to pay more attention to keeping the grounds up which includes expectations for the security staff they hire. Do more for the people, Town East Mall management team? We deserve for our community similar events that North Park Mall and the Galleria offer their guests.

Fun little shopping area in a fun area!…read more Just north of downtown Dallas by a few miles from and next to the corner of Oak Lawn Ave and Wycliff ave is the cutest little shopping strip. Things to know: ~ More parking in the back. ~ If it after dark you can have security walk you out to your car. ~ Great location. ~ Stop light at exit point to help you get in or out. ~ Parking is at angles with plenty of room. ~ Number of different fun shops with great taste! ~ A well diverse set of shops! Fun shops from eating, haircuts, shoe shines, or even a great shirts on hand!

Plus there's a huge free parking garage on the side that works out great if you're out there on a Saturday night seeing as the whole area is a nightmare to park on the weekends.

The neighborhood was nicknamed "The Devil's Back Porch" back in the 1920s. I hope that was not a reference to his butt. 2. This was one of the busiest streetcar stops in all of Dallas in the 1930s, which is the reason the shops are close together. 3. The restaurant Paradiso is L shaped because it was built around century-old trees. 4. Bonnie (of Bonnie and Clyde) worked as a waitress in this area before her crime spree began. Rumor has it she needed money to afford the $8 slices of pie at Emporium Pies. Only three things sucked: 1) Parking is difficult on weekends. 2) Cops are everywhere, so don't jaywalk. 3) The people with clipboards asking you to donate to blue whale abortions or whatever are aggressive.

There was live music, food trucks and plenty of vendors. They had a couple of older model cars on display which was cool. When we entered the bazaar there was a lady there to welcome us to the event which was nice. I enjoyed a refreshing drink at a food truck and got street style tacos from another vendor. The live music was upbeat and complimented the event. We were able to walk around and explore a majority of the vendors. I ended up buying a couple of things from the vendor. The bishop arts bazaar occurs in the fall once a month on Sunday. Attending the bazaar was a lovely way to spend the Sunday afternoon.

"This gift to the local community will be interactive and encourage guests to capture photos, learn about the important work of Community Partners of Dallas, inspire charitable giving and make precious memories this Fall." The pumpkin patch featured multiple photo ops including the harvest house, candy corn tree, cornucopia, land of mums, gnome village, prince owl, fairytale library, harvest cart and the wishing well. There were lots of people milling about, waiting for their turn to take photos. However, it wasn't super crowded and there was still enough room to breathe and enjoy the scenery. This was a great family-friendly activity and fun way to make memories. There was no admission fee, making this a great alternative to the Dallas Arboretum. The mall itself was huge and offers and a variety of retail shops, restaurants and entertainment options. I uploaded more than 20 photos, so I hope they all post with this review.

Northpark Mall for shopping- it's dizzying and impractical for most items…read more Northpark Mall, however, is the perfect place to go for a couple hours of amusement and marveling at how the 1% must live. There are additionally some worthwhile dining, music, and artistic opportunities to enjoy. I personally love to play "guess how much this costs?", from an $8000 rug at "Design Within Reach" (though certainly not within budget) to $40,000-$100,000+ pens at Mount Blanc. (Nothing in that store at all has a price tag on it, and you know things are wild when you have to inquire!) This game will keep you amused and flabbergasted throughout your mall exploration. There are additional joys to uncover like live musicians, special events throughout the year (like a gingerbread village at Christmas time), and permanent + rotating artwork. Today I saw a real piece by Jean Dubuffet (on loan from Nasher Sculpture center), a mixed media unicorn, and this super neat rainbow light piece I snapped some pictures of (that actually had a deeper and heavier meaning; wish I documented the artist's name). The mall is perfect for people watching, getting a walk in on excruciatingly hot summer days or when it's raining, and just generally finding random fancy shops to explore. I recommend a visit as a fun date idea, for reasons above, not for the shopping experience. For $5 dollars, I got some actually incredible crackers from Eately's grocery and a couple hours of great delight and enjoyment exploring with lovely company. Northpark Mall really is like a live and interactive museum of sorts showcasing the lives of the upper echelon of Dallas. It is generally very crowded on weekends and an absolute chaotic nightmare to try and visit on weekends in the month of December (avoid!!!!). I give the parking situation three stars because it is always difficult to park and exit this mall. Come with curiosity to this center and enjoy the wild window shopping experience. Note some stores (eg, LaLa Land and Lego Store) had long lines to even enter the store / order. All around recommend visiting, but for very unconventional reasons more akin to why you should visit a zoo or museum than why you ought to visit Costco or Target.

Dallas Market Center hosts great trade shows. It's not as large as the Las Vegas or New York…read moremarkets, but it's centrally located and it's easily accessed off a major highway in Dallas. The interior of the building is an open concept that flows down to a fountain area. The first floor is open to the public with a cafe and Starbucks. You will need to register as a buyer or be a guest of a showroom. The layout is nicely done. Each floor has a theme such as a jewelry, kids, women fashion, shoes etc. All the showroom staff and owners are friendly. Some of the showrooms even offer samples to take back to your own store. Unfortunately, the pandemic did take a toll on this place and you will see a lot of empty showrooms. I'm hoping 2022 will see all the showrooms come back to it's former glory. Do yourself a favor and check out the Events Calendar on the DMC website and come out for some fun!

The West End just isn't what it used to be. There's still the few restaurants and bars in the area…read morebut you just don't really feel the energy it had a few decades ago. That being said, it is part of Dallas history and still attracts a good amount of out-of-towners for special events. The Bodies exhibit is interesting (although not for the squeamish) and I imagine Landry's and the other restaurants still do a decent job. However, we didn't like those dudes trying to sell us roses while walking the street. No means NO.

After 25+ years…read morethey undertook a remodel which added a lot of new archetecual features like new planters with palms,ice rink remodel etc. but 25 years after that it needed a major freshening up and they did. Not only does the mall cosmetically look better but a fresh mix of small shops adds to a new vibrant feel. I'm really glad they took action and even more happy I noticed it. I'll visit more often and you should too... Go!
