I'm from the Bay Area and we have no chicken sandwich places like Bruxie. I happen to order the Holy sandwich after the worker recommended that to me and I was not disappointed at all! The Holy included a Maple glazed chicken which to be honest, was not a bad combination at all. I happen to think it would be too sweet for my liking but having the other things like the cheddar and bacon contrasts to the sweetness of the meal. I happened to remove a star mainly because I thought my egg was still alittle bit raw on top, despite it being a sunny side up egg. Will definitely be coming back if I am ever in the area! But unlike other food trends that come and go, this one actually tastes good and has gotten even better with time. They have a few locations in OC. This one is located at the Collage Culinary Experience food hall at South Coast Plaza on the Bloomingdale's side. It's located on the ground floor right next to Paradise Dynasty. Just look for the giant fried chicken sign. You can't miss it. Their standard waffles are delicious. Perfectly crispy, airy, and not too sweet. I wish they sold the mix to make at home. The breakfast waffle sandwiches are my go to order no matter what time of day. The "Holy Chicken" is my favorite. Juicy fried chicken, bacon, cheddar, siracha mayo, and a sunny-side up egg on their signature waffle. The country sausage is a close second but I order mine with a sunny-side up egg instead of the standard over hard egg. For dessert, the crème brûlée is tops followed by the lemon cream and berries. This is a new addition to SCP Bloomingdales Collage group so they are not as busy as their next door neighbor, Paradise Dynasty. We were impressed with the quality of their foods though. At first, we were a bit worried that it would be a heavy meal, between the waffle, fried chicken, and all the fries, etc., so we thought we should order something a bit healthier. My husband had their Roasted Turkey Club waffle sandwich and I had the grilled chicken salad. We were totally surprised how good the food was, after first few bites. My breakfast (Bacon, Egg, Cheese) was also rather plain. On top of that, our waffles were soggy, which is not indicative of the Bruxies I remember. Tots and fries were hot and crispy, which honestly saved our lunch. I'd like to give it another chance, because the pastrami looked promising. I ordered a bacon egg and cheddar sandwich this morning and it was a terrible experience. For some reason they loaded the sandwich with a pound of Mayo which was very off putting. It also arrived ice cold, Which is baffling to me because when the dasher arrived, the order "wasn't ready" and he had to wait 15 minutes. So I just don't understand how it was so cold. My house is only .6 miles from the restaurant. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone nor would I come back. I was super excited to have this location open closer to home! The drive to Costa Mesa is about half the distance to the location in Orange for me. With that being said, we stopped by this location and had a less than subpar experience. I usually order The Original and the Holy Chicken, but they did not have chicken breast, so we opted to try something else. We saw the sign they had advertising the 5 piece Hot Honey plate for $17 and ordered that. Unfortunately, they said that deal does not exist anymore... At this point, I was not sure what they even had for me to order. Here is what we decided to do; 3 Tenders and Fries ($14): We got the hot honey tenders and waffle fries. We also added 1 extra hot honey tender, which was $2 at the time for Happy Hour. I love the hot honey seasoning and the crisp of the tenders. The quality of the tenders and fries matches their other locations, which I was extremely relieved about. When we sat down, we checked in and received their free fries or custard for the Yelp check in offer. We waited in line and asked the cashier if we could add this to our meal. He told us we had to order, despite taking our order only about 5 minutes prior. He said he would bring it to our table. We got our meal, finished the entire thing, and waited for one of the 2 employees up front to grab us our custard. We realized that they were standing around and probably forgot about it. We finally decided to approach the counter, and the cashier apologized and grabbed us a larger size for the inconvenience. I appreciate their customer recovery, but the experience was just not great. I get there could be supply shortages, but for him to not honor the combo deal they were advertising and continued to leave up the sign throughout the entire meal. Why leave it up if you are not going to honor it? Also their rewards program does not even work. I do not think the almost $20 I spent there will be going towards my account at all. My husband and I are huge fans of Bruxie, so we were so excited they were opening up a location at SCP! The restaurant is located inside Bloomingdale's, directly adjacent to Paradise Dynasty. The menu offerings look similar to their other locations; price-wise, I don't know if the prices are the same or if they're slightly inflated for being inside SCP. My favorite has always been the original, which is their fried chicken drizzled with their chili honey and topped with coleslaw, sandwiched between a fresh and crispy waffle. I love how their waffles are super light and crispy on the outside. They also don't drench your chicken with the sauce, and instead, give you extra on the side if you'd like it saucier :) Their waffle fries also come out hot and fresh, which pairs sooo well with the sandwich! I could do with a tad less salt on the fries, but dipping it with ketchup/ranch/(insert your choice of sauce here) helps, haha. The menu is the same, but I have to say, this Bruxie has the best customer service I've had by far compared to the other locations I've visited!
