Customer service: I made a booking error, I called and was helped with no issues to fix it to the proper date. The person on the other end of the phone was beyond courteous and understanding, our booking was far enough out that it helped make it not an issue. While onsite we witnessed the employees dealing with minor inconveniences by guests and they were BEYOND patient, calm and understanding!! It was refreshing to see and deal with! Service used: We only did day use tickets. We were not over night guests of any kind. Restrooms: there are restrooms on site for use. They supply lots of seating and tables. We have gone on a regular day and basically have been like four to six other people present and seating wasn't an issue. Today we went on Memorial Day and it was PACKED! Atmosphere: it is definitely family friendly. Everyone that we have spoken to that are locals know and love the owners!! They have music playing, a bubble machine going, they had lots of pool noodles for use! Sadly, we witnessed some kiddos being destructive to the stuff supplied. This place is a hidden gem! We arrived at 07:30am and walked in to find clothes, pool noodles, bottles of water thrown all over. It is sad that most people can't and won't find a trash can! Clean up after yourselves, the owner shouldn't have to!! We thoroughly have enjoyed both our visits here!

Camping in a junkyard I was extremely disappointed with my experience at Franklin Hot Springs. The property looks nothing like the pictures on their website. When I arrived, I was shocked to find that the'campsites' consisted of nothing more than a post in the ground with a picnic table nearby, all set in an area that resembled a junkyard. The facilities were in terrible condition--the bathrooms, showers, and swimming pool were dirty and had an overwhelming mildew smell. I couldn't bring myself to use any of them. The overall atmosphere made me feel unsafe, and I didn't feel comfortable staying overnight in my van next to them. I ended up leaving immediately after taking some photos. I hope my$50 can at least go toward improving the cleanliness of the facilities, but I would not recommend this place to anyone

We love love loved the place! For all the people who said it was smelly or unsafe or a junkyard well maybe it's not for you but in our opinion it was very safe, the people were extremely friendly, and that includes the people that work there as well as their customers. It was absolutely wonderful. Yes you might call it funky but that was the charm of the place. It was perfectly clean in my opinion the water came out nice and hot and it was the most relaxing swim I've had in years. And not only is it that nice hot springs to sit in but also to swim in. It's out in the wild blue yonder on a farm type setting. You can't go wrong! $9 for a senior I'll be back. No it's not some fancy resort but you don't have to spend fancy resort money on it either. They could certainly charge more and they don't. Bless their hearts!

To me this place is 5 stars but I don't want to deceive my fellow helpers. It's not fancy, it's not a resort or somewhere anyone who's pretentious and snoody would go. It's a healing charging port and fun place for me and my friends and daughter who's under 5. I've gotten so much healing from the waters here. The location is perfect between Nor Cal and So Cal so I try to stop there when heading either way up the 101. The price Is great especially for camping overnight. The owners are kind, lovely people and always have been so nice to us. U will smell like sulfur after but your skin and hair and body will be so soft and happy and full of essential minerals we lack in getting in society's dead food we all eat. Lol Mud and hot springs lover forever!!!

Never knew this place was here till out neighborhood recommended we come camp here for the night. Loved it, absolutely loved it. The service was great, easy website to book. Beautiful spring , I recommend going in the early morning ( this is when the photos are taken between ( 7:30am thru 9 AM we had been at the pool on sat thru sun open no people) absolutely beautiful local hot springs. Highly recommend.

I liked it here better

It was quite an experience. The vibes we chill. I didn't know what to expect. My friends who went were all freaking out about the water being kinda murky and the smell of rotten eggs which was from the sulfur which is normal at a hot spring. I enjoyed the experience. There was a lot of parking which was nice. Staff was friendly.

I'm half and half on this place. The place is extraordinary in both positive and negative aspects. First when we came, the place fully smells of sulfur and there are debris of algae or moss floating everywhere. We were afraid we would get water borned disease But we said whatever and went in the smaller tub which is hotter than the big pool. The big pool was cold though. None of the water was 100F even. They were 80-90F. What I really like is the people here. We talked to other people in the tub who came frequently and they were super friendly. When we first came in, they handed us mud and taught us how to put it and covered our face. The pool is extremely slippery and the algae covering the entire pool is so gross. One lady fell and scraped her foot, bleeding. Luckily I was careful and didn't fall We ended up staying for about 2 hours because we just enjoyed the people here and there was cute and very obedient dog. The toilets weren't bad. It has no smell and more clean that I imagined.

An interesting experience

Ask the Community - Franklin Hot Springs

Are the springs clothing optional?

I believe clothing is required.

How deep is the water in the springs? Also do we need a fishing licence to fish here?

It's about 4 ft to 15 ft from one end to the other in the main pool. Other tubs are ~3 ft like regular hot tub depth. No fishing license is required.

Is this place open during 26-31 Dec 2018?

Yes, we will be open from 7am to 11pm.

Is this place clothing optional like most hot springs I've been to?

No, you need to wear bathing suits or clothing. The hotspring feeds a large public pool and small hot tub.

Is the swimming suit must required? Can I just wear a T-shirt and short pant instead?

A T-shirt and shorts are fine.

Does this place have any frogs for frog hunters?

Yes, we have lots of bull frogs and you welcome to come hunt them.

We rented a couple of jet skis from out of town and acquired a cabin at Lake nacimiento resorts for the weekend. However we dropped the ball on renting a boat or pontoon. I searched up boat rentals in my area, and to my surprise there were very few. Lake life 805 answered immediately and was very helpful and reasonable $$ about booking my reservation.. we booked a 10 passenger pontoon which had an amazing sound system, and new limousine style seating arrangements. They emailed over my rental contract, and even offered to have a copy available for my convenience if I did not have a printer. Which was very very helpful in this last minute situation. Upon arrival, everything went very smoothly from beginning to end. Thank you so much for making this weekend amazing. I traveled here in spring, so I don't know what summer bookings look like. The ride is about an hour long. We went on the booze Tiki cruise. The drinks were rather large. They offered two sizes, we got the smaller size and that was perfect for me. I was super excited that I was able to bring my dog! I paid for my 2 dogs, I only brought on (the other is 18 and he had been out all day, he was asleep in his kennel). They don't do Refunds, but I was supposed to get a drink pass, but I don't think I did? I didn't realize until way later, though. There was also a goat on the cruise! I like to call it, "The Story of a Dog, a Goat and a Boat". I think the boat only held about 22 or 24 people. It wasn't super cold on the boat. We were pretty shielded. Remember, people might be drinking, so it can get loud! I'm giving them 5 stars just on the fact that I could bring my dog! I can't say that she loved it (she was scared, she had never been on a boat before), but thank you for a fun experience.

We had a morning rental for 2 hours, which I think was more than enough to make a few loops around the bay. The boat is easy to handle, and it's pretty easy to follow where you're allowed to go. We saw plenty of wildlife - sea lions, birds, and best of all otters, including a mom and her pup swimming exactly at the boat dock. I don't often write reviews and I definitely don't make sure I post them in multiple places but after our family stay at the Lake Naciamento Resort, not only am I doing both,I'll be singing their praises to anyone who will listen for a long time. I was coming to the area to work over the weekend but we made a last minute decision to bring the family and make a little vacation out of it. We must have called a million times with a million different questions and honestly I felt so unorganized and like a pain in the (you know what) but the staff, especially GM Layla Decker, made us feel like family and I commend them all for having the patience of a 1,000 saints. By the time we arrived we felt like we already knew Layla and her staff thanks to a million phone calls. I cannot begin to say just how helpful they were. Not only did they answer all our questions and calls but they went above and beyond and called me to advise how the foggy weather could affect my early morning departures for work as I'm unfamiliar with the resort. To say we are sad to leave after such a wonderful experience is the understatement of the year. For months I've been telling my husband if we have good weather while we're there, I would really love to rent a pontoon and cruise around Morro Bay. We rented pontoons in other locations in California, but never here and we had no idea which boat rental company to go to. We looked at this one and one other and clearly we made the best choice going with Morro Bay Boat Rentals. Their boats are clean, well maintained and maybe a bit larger than some others. When we walked into their shop, we were greeted by friendly and accommodating staff. Good Customer Service makes a difference! Although we spoke with three different people, Dane is the one who explained the process, brought us down to the boat, clearly explained the operations of the boat, and where we could, and could not go within the bay. We had a hand radio so that if there were any problems, we could get in touch with Dane immediately, as well as let them know when we were heading back so Dane could be there waiting to help my husband pull into the boat slip. As far as our experience out in the middle of the bay, it was amazing and everything I hoped for. First of all our dog absolutely loved it. My husband was easily able to drive the boat and thoroughly enjoyed it. As for me, I was busy taking photos with my long camera lens of birds and otters and Morro rock. I have been looking forward to this for months and I was not disappointed. We were fortunate to have a sunny day and calm waters. We spent about an hour and a half cruising around, and it was truly the highlight of our time on the central coast. We radioed Dane about five minutes before we approached, and he was there at the end of the dock waiting for us. He asked us how we enjoyed our time and if everything went well. Back in the office we signed off the papers and told all three members that we were really happy with our choice to rent from them. Let's see if I can figure out how to attach some photos.
