I booked my stay at BSea Cancun Plaza Hotel through AirBnB with Julio, a super host on AirBnB. For context on why I chose this hotel, this was my first international trip and I was a bit too trusting of my first impression of the room and the super host status. Unfortunately we were not provided an accurate name of the hotel only km 20 and unable to further research. My personal experience: While the views of the beach from the pool and restaurant are undeniably beautiful, as is much of the exterior of the hotel, the room was dated and not well kept. The room had marks all over the walls and the mirror had black marks all over as well. Worst of all we dealt with a terrible roach infestation, having to kill multiple baby roaches at any given moment. It was insufferable. In general: If you need a quick and cheap stay, this place will get the job done (hopefully barring bug problems). The hotel is located relatively far from the majority of restaurants so if you're doing excursions, you'll want to grab dinner before you get dropped off. There is a really pricey but great seafood spot that's a 14 minute walk away, Navíos. The hotel restaurant, Casa Del Mar, is subpar at best but you'll have stellar views while you eat. There is a store on-site with water and snacks that's relatively cheap for quick items. There is also a laundry room on-site but I didn't use it. The beach at the hotel had a fair amount of seaweed but we found that Playa Langosta, further down the Blvd. by the Breathless hotel, had no seaweed, smaller waves, and a Cancun sign for photos. On the beach, there are free huts that you can lounge under. The life guard also being body boards but you have to rent them for a fee, otherwise you can purchase one for $30.

This hotel was the only disappointing part of my Cancun trip. I stayed in the condo/loft section and the room was spacious but filthy. upon arrival nothing was cleaned. The hardwood floor was nitty gritty with Gawd knows what that stuck to your feet all the time, even after they cleaned which was every 3 days. There were ants constantly on the kitchen table and in the sinks, dirty hand prints on the mirrors, stains on the walls, broken chairs that went to the table, and our phone inside the room was broken so we couldn't ever call the front desk. Room service is non- existent here, there is no Jacuzzi, the restaurant/Bar was horrible and closed at 8pm every day (that's another review Lordt) and every time I asked for new towels they would say wait until your room is cleaned which was every 3 days so I was constantly stealing towels off of house keeping carts. The place is very outdated. It looks nothing like the pictures on Expedia. There is also no ATM inside the hotel and you cant use your card for nothing. so you will have to walk next door to The Bel Air to use there ATM. The only good thing about this hotel: 1. customer service was impeccable, everyone was really nice and helpful and speaks English. 2.They have security at the front gates of the hotel so not anyone can just come in. they will interrogate you, ask for your room key, and also hail a cab for you if necessary, I felt safe because of this. 3. The view from our room was to die for. We were right under the pool and overlooking the beach. 4. The hotel is located on a 7 mile beach so you can just go straight to the beach from your room. no traveling required.

This condo/hotel has many different levels of rooms. Some are updated, some are a bit dated. The one we stayed we booked through VRBO. Depending on the room and the season, you can get a place from around $75/night up.... Our Oceanfront condo was a bit dated, but the location and the facilities were great. The beach is not too crowded, the palapas provide a nice shade during the sunny times and the pool is ample and clean. There is a restaurant on the premises, but our experience with the food was not good....pizzas not good, beef tips not good, chicken soup was the only thing I really liked. Run the water from the sink and shower before you use it, so the rusty water gets flushed out. Nice fridge and MW in the room. Comfy beds. Easy to get to the Party area of the Hotel zone or downtown, just get on a bus and for 12 pesos, you are there.... About 15 min to the Coco Bongo area, about 30 min to downtown.

We rented the room through Priceline for 4 nights. The room smelled of mildew. The refrigerator had defrosted so the floor was all wet. The room phone did not work so we had to go back to the office across the parking lot. They opened a different room for the night but gave us no room key. We had to move our things and could leave the room without a key. Next morning I went down to the office. They gave me a key and said when maintenance comes They would fix our first room. We went out to have brunch and received a call about 1pm that we needed to move our things to the original room because they needed that room for incoming guest, pronto. Their was a group of seven men from Afghanistan that only spoke thier language. They were unruly to the security person at the pool. One keep stairing at my 17 yr daughter all the time. They were on the 2nd floor builg 2. We were 4 floor building 1. One day he kept staring at my daughter at the pool from his balcony. My wife and daughter left our room and he rushed to catch them. I noticed and went and escorted them to our. I step out side and found him outside our door. I confronted him an he pretended not understand. I told him to leave. My wife called security. They said they would talk to him. I asked the front office to find us a new hotel. They couldn't and we left to a down town hotel. Security said he did not blame me and would do the same. Our beach vacation was ruined and priceline nor the hotel are willing to credit us the nights we lost

What do you want for $100.00? (Canadian$$$) The sea view us spectacular. The food in the restaurant is delicious. Wood fired pizza oven produced just ok pizza. I had the Mexican salad. Delicious. Breakfast was huevos Ranchero. Excellent. Everything was clean. There is obvious wear and tear, but all the bathroom fixtures and new. Bed was comfy. I wish there was more sound proofing. I'm not sure if our neighbours skinned their children alive before they boiled then, but the blood curdling screams suggested some sort of butchering or human sacrifice. I wish the restaurant was open later, but for the one night we stayed over, it fit our needs perfectly. Our landlady sent a van to pick us up at the airport. When we arrived, Rosie showed us to our room. We had free Wi-Fi, fridge and microwave. The tv was new. Checkout is supposed to be 11:00am, but we negotiated for noon.

Disgusting! I feel bad for having to put Cancun Plaza on blast but this was the worst experience I've had at a hotel/air bnb. It is unfortunate as there are several individual owners that may keep their rooms in better condition. As you will read from the other reviews, the place is outdated. I can deal with outdated. However, I will not accept filth or a bug infestation. My boyfriend and I were supposed to stay 2 nights but we got the heck out of there! We were fully refunded for our entire stay. -bathroom was not clean. Dirty tub and floor. -no fitted sheet or covering on the mattress. -bug infestation. Yes, it is located in a great location but so are several other resorts. Until there is a full renovation in the entire building, I'd recommend staying elsewhere.

You can't beat the view !!

The location and price is what keeps me coming back to the Cancun Plaza. It is an older complex, but the public facilities like the oceanfront double pool, the restaurant, convenience store and laundry room don't seem "old" to me. Apparently, the rooms are hit n miss. I rent from a private owner and his unit is great, but I will say that the unit hadn't been updated at all since I was here 2 years ago but everything works, it clean and comfortable. The view is to die for !

For the price I paid, Cancun Plaza was great. Three other people plus myself stayed for one night for our last night in Cancun. From the outside this place doesn't look like much, but the inside (our room and the pool) were nicer. The woman who checked us in was super nice and helpful. The room itself isn't much, but it was inexpensive and had an amazing view of the beach. The pool was great. We weren't expecting an infinity pool looking over the beach so we were very pleasantly surprised. Lots of lounge chairs. Plus there were a few palapas down on the beach. Restaurant was alright. Food I would say was just okay - not amazing but definitely not bad. One thing to note is, if you're paying with a credit card, you can only use that card once per day (unsure why). There is a convenience store nearby as well. We walked there to grab snacks and lots of water.

Dated, poorly maintained, and absolutely disgusting.

And what used to be "the world's largest telephone booth" would dominate ANY hotel in the USA. The people are overly friendly as long as you are not doing shady things. And with billboards offering services directly to your room and a hospital system where you only go if you're sick. The "grey area" is a pretty loose term. The entire hotel is illuminated with L.E.D.'s. The space is immaculate. It was 1/4 mile from the room to the lobby. The ballrooms and convention spaces are like a stadium. (Indoors or outdoors). The public bus arrives every (2) minutes and are often full. It is approximately .50 US to go 30 miles downtown. Just looking at the creative ideas a child could write a book . "This ain't Tijuana". The malls and beaches are protected by federal soldiers and the streets have checkpoints every mile. They obtain your information and destination. If something is off a militia is on alert. In NOLA people go missing all the time. They get discovered weeks later. Would never happen in Mexico . A drunk guy might get out the box, but it is very controlled. There's always a little bit of construction because they're renovating, so plan accordingly by calling with them to make sure the areas you want open, are open. The new speakeasy is super cute. We visited there one evening and have the best time and service! This isn't the same restaurant where you go to breakfast but at night is a Spanish tapas restaurant. Everything was fantastic but all the food on the property is really great! We especially loved to order lunch by the pool. All the cocktails are fantastic, even poolside! Rooms are standard JW with some of them recently updated with the others on their way to being updated. Yes, there is a sort of a musty smell in the air, but that's in most hotels. It's a very hard to keep those highly humid rooms from smelling a little musty. You just have to get over it and enjoy the time outside the room. Pools are super cute and the beach area is nice. There is an adult pool that is open during the day but wish it was open later! Lots of places in walking distance if you decide to venture out of the property but why would you need to! Easy drive from the airport and to the downtown or for departure to Isla Mujeres. We did not go to the island this time but last time we booked everything through the hotel and they made it super easy.

This was one of those vacations…read morewhere you leave already talking about when you can come back -- and luckily for us, we're already planning to return at the end of September! What made this trip so special wasn't just the beautiful resort, the food, the drinks, or the activities -- it was the PEOPLE. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay fun, welcoming, and memorable. We participated in SO many activities during our stay. We rode the FlowRider several times, played water games, did pool workouts, made brackets, enjoyed the themed dinners, spent time at the sports bar, ate A LOT of food, had plenty of drinks, and basically said YES to everything fun happening around the resort. The Fun Team was absolutely AMAZING! Oscar was our FlowRider instructor and was fantastic! We had so much fun that we went back multiple times. He was encouraging, patient, and made the experience so much fun. Guillermo was awesome with the pool exercises and brought such great energy to the activities. Claudia and Anna Banana were also incredible and helped make the activities so much fun. They brought personality, energy, and so many laughs to our days. And then there were all of the people who took care of us throughout the resort: Fernando -- Bartender Manuel -- Bartender -- seriously, an AMAZING bartender! Fernando -- Bartender Vicente -- Bartender Louis -- Food Operations Raphael -- Front of House Staff Wilbert "Willy" -- Sports Bar Waiter Selso "Seltzer" -- Steak & Win Server Jesus -- Sports Bar Chef Felipe -- Sports Bar Manager Maria -- Massage Therapist & Spa Staff Every one of them deserves a shoutout because they each added something special to our vacation. And I have to mention housekeeping, because our room was absolutely spotless and clean! Anytime we needed our room cleaned, the staff was on it. We never had to worry about coming back to a messy room, and that made such a difference during our stay. It was clear that the entire resort takes cleanliness seriously. The themed dinners were one of our favorite things, and we loved having so many different activities available. We never felt bored because there was always something going on -- but if we wanted to just relax by the pool, we could do that too. The sports bar was another favorite, and Willy, Jesus, and Felipe made our time there even better. The food and drinks were great, and the service was wonderful. And the spa! Maria was amazing, and the entire spa staff made the experience relaxing and enjoyable. Honestly, what impressed us most was how many employees remembered us, interacted with us, and made us feel like more than just another guest. Those little interactions are what you remember when you get home. The Westin Cancún has an INCREDIBLE team. Please recognize these employees because they truly made our vacation what it was. We came to Cancún to relax, have fun, eat good food, drink good drinks, and make memories -- and we did ALL of that. Now we're already counting down to the end of September! Thank you, Westin Cancún, for such an amazing stay. We can't wait to come back and hopefully see all of these wonderful people again! 10/10 vacation. 10/10 staff. Spotless rooms. Amazing activities. Great food. And 100% coming back!

First time at this property and I enjoyed my stay, although a few things could have been better…read more The location is at the start of the hotel zone and always from the hussle and bustle of the main area. Pros and cons to this. Pros - not as busy, plenty of seating/beach chairs, quiet resort, easy access to airport and if going out of the hotel zone, large spacious rooms (I had two queens beds with ample space), in room fridge, friendly staff Cons - limited walkable activities (shopping, food, entertainment), older property, only 2 on property restaurants open in the evening limiting dimmed options, communication with guest services is via phone, had to checkout at the front desk no folio delivery to room or app checkout, more seaweed on beach than others (property didn't address until my departure date), pools were super warm like bath water so not refreshing, not enough toiletries in room Check-in process was quick as I arrived early around 11am and was shocked I got access to the room. This definitely was unexpected. Room was huge and had a beautiful ocean view. The window was a bit janky however I was able to get it opened to feel and smell the ocean air. You could tell the property was dated just in the finished and wear on the room. Lighting also was challenging due to the size at night. While on property felt safe and relaxing as there were other guests but no one was on top of one another. Got to try out breakfast (decent, the made to order omelette and eggs were great) there were some rotating items as well. Oatmeal was a different consistency each day soooo not sure whose doing that. Service was hit and miss. First day seat on own and took about 10 before someone asked about coffee. Second day got sat and service right away. Third day sat self and service right away. Their market -Palmer did not have sandwiches nor real food sooo that was a bit disappointing. Snacks, beverages and a few swim essentials were available. I did not have housekeeping service so I can't speak on that. The room was clean however and ample towels. The shower shampoo/conditioner/body wash were the big bottles and smells amazing. The shower was pretty small and turning around hitting the cold was would def wake you up. Shower pressure was amazing and controlling the temps tire once you got the mix right was good. The hot handle got super hot, had to use a wet washcloth to turn off. Not sure how that's not a safety hazard I really enjoyed the 'fake' sky lights in the bathroom gave a nice touch so it wasn't too dark. Property overall was in good condition and you could see the wear on the outside due to the climate. Overall nothing bad at the property but def needs some investment to improve the condition.

During that time, the resort does repairs and maintenance to prepare for the high season, so expect some construction and movement around the property. Despite that, Club Solaris Cancun was one of the top experiences of my life! It's a wonderful place to stay. What it may lack in "luxury," it more than makes up for in service -- truly the best service and the kindest people. Because of my friend's membership level, I stayed in the Club Solaris members area, but honestly, the great service is consistent throughout the resort. The staff remembers guests by name, and I saw many returning members warmly hugging the employees they've known from past visits. You can feel the genuine care and connection. The rooms are a great size, each with a coffee maker and refrigerator. I had a room to myself, and it was perfect. As a member, they personally walk you through daily activities, help make dinner reservations, and even arrange excursions for you. If you're not a member, the concierge and guest services office are always available to assist. A special mention goes to Omar in the members' office -- he's wonderful. Breakfast I started each morning with breakfast in the members' area, which offered a fantastic assortment of food. My personal favorites were the made-to-order omelets and the fresh, sushi-style salmon and ahi tuna. Coffee and mimosas flowed freely, and smoothies were available upon request. Special shoutouts at breakfast: * Tomas - Always served with a smile and even brought me bacon, though it wasn't out yet. * Julian - Warm, friendly, and always great conversation and service. * Roman - Makes a perfect omelet every time, smiling as he works his magic on the grill. (Tip: Ask for a smoothie -- they'll make it fresh for you!) Pool Time Spending time at the pool is a must! Lunch by the pool includes standard fare -- pizza, chicken nuggets, nachos, fries, hamburgers, poke bowls, California rolls, mac and cheese -- it's casual but satisfying. Drinks tip: Head to the adult pool for branded liquor. Otherwise, they typically use well or house brands unless you ask. Special thanks to Marrya, who worked tirelessly serving everyone around the pool by herself -- she's amazing! Throughout the day, there are plenty of fun activities like bingo, water Zumba, and flip-the-cup. Maxine, the pool host, keeps the energy up and everyone smiling. (Pro tip: Bring your own cup, thermos, or Stanley tumbler -- they'll fill it with ice and water for free.) There are three pools and three hot tubs, and the ocean views are incredible -- just steps away from the beach! Spa! Small but clean. Ask for Bonita. She was great. Dinner Dinner reservations are a must. The best restaurant, hands down, is Marco Polo. A big thank you to Alex, Ivan, and Ricky for their wonderful dinner service! Nightlife The resort offers nightly entertainment like singers and live shows. They're nice, but if you're looking for a livelier nightlife, you may want to head into town. There's also an MVP Sports Bar, which is a great spot to hang out -- it has a pool table, three TVs, music, and an air hockey table. A huge thanks to Javier for his excellent service and patience with our card games! Highly recommend the member experience!

This is not a party resort. When we were there, there was a karaoke night and a DJ in one of their lounges, but it was never crowded and the events ended early or people just left early. The 1st room we stayed in was HORRIBLE! We couldn't sleep. There was a loud rumbling sound coming from the huge air conditioning units right outside balcony. Ear plugs did not help. We talked to 3 other people also complaining about the noise from their rooms also. We were so thankful to Eileen/Aileen at the front desk for moving us. She let us view 3 rooms that were available. We went from a partial ocean view room with a king bed on the 2nd floor to a garden view (actually just the alley with trees) with 2 queen beds on the 1st floor. There was no noise whatsoever! Yaaaay! The person booking excursions could be more friendly. He seemed uninterested and looked bored. Whenever we saw him speaking to other guests, he really looked bored or tired. ONE STAR for the spa. We arrived 15 minutes early for a couples massage. My husband was led to the men's side and I was taken to the women's side. The young lady leading the way, paused at the locker room but led me directly to the quiet room. I was fully dressed and had all my belongings with me. Everyone else was in robes. Why wasn't I given a locker to store my things and a robe to change into??? I was so upset and felt so out of place. When my husband met me in the quiet room he was as confused as I was as to why I was still fully dressed. We were led to the massage room and I asked AGAIN about changing into a robe and storing my things. One of the masseuses said I didn't need to. WTF? So I undressed and piled my clothes onto an ottoman. I could not relax. The music was too loud and inappropriate. Why are you playing music with someone singing loudly? When it was over, it took me a while to calm down. We paid for shit service?! We came back and spoke to Jessica at the desk. She was also confused and concerned about the whole lock and robe ordeal. She offered a discounted spa treatment the next day but we were leaving. I wouldn't have taken it anyway. Overall, the staff was AMAZING! Please recognize them! They worked really hard to make our stay enjoyable. Get to know the staff and tip them well. Thank you to Jose at Egos who made sure our hands always had a drink in them; Carlos at Varenna for the house special cocktails; Miguel who took care of us while we relaxed on the beachside cabana. He was so attentive, personable and funny. Alejandro at the poolside bar made us laugh, Israel at Azur for the honest feedback when we had questions about the dinner menu, and Cesar at Hidden Garden who helped us figure out what was what in the darkness of the dining area. One that note, why is it so dark at Hidden Garden during the dinner service? We had to use the flashlights on our phones to read the menu and see our food. Fernando at the Siete breakfast buffet was awesome! We watched him smoothly take care of so many tables. We never felt neglected despite all the tables and people he was tending to. Lulu (Lou Lou?) is AMAZING, FUNNY and ENTERTAINING! We were lost the 1st night we arrived. He stopped what he was doing to personally escorted us to Azur in the darkness, around all the pools. We ran into him several times during our stay. He always made sure we were ok and having a good time. His energy is unmatched! Thank you to Omar, from the Concierge desk. He welcomed us when we arrived and gave us so much information about the resort. It seemed like he works everywhere. We saw him at different places in the resort. Maryam from the Concierge Desk! She was an angel. She really listened to all of our concerns. She was so friendly and funny. Even when our stay was over and we were waiting for our ride, she offered drinks and food to take with us to the airport. She definitely put a smile back on my face.

Prior to our arrival, we emailed the concierge for transportation to the hotel from Tulum. The…read moreemails were responded to in a timely manner and everything was as promised. Check in with Diego was a breeze. Although they did not offer us an upgrade, which could have been possible through our credit card partnership, he did let us pick a room from what was available. We picked 5044. The view was good, not a full ocean view but we did have a partial ocean view. The hotel and room were very clean. The staff was very attentive and anticipated our needs. I was very please with the hotel. It exceeded my expectations. If I ever return to Cancun, I would stay here again.

We recently stayed at Kempinski Hotel Cancun for six days. We have been coming to this property for…read moreyears, back when it was The Ritz-Carlton Cancun, and it has always held sentimental value for us. That history is the main reason we kept returning. Unfortunately, for the past two years, our experiences have declined significantly. The hotel no longer maintains the level of service and standards we once loved. The atmosphere feels different, the staff are not as welcoming, and there is a noticeable lack of attentiveness and care. During this stay, we had a particularly unpleasant two-day experience at the beach regarding the setup of lounge chairs and umbrellas. Rather than going into every detail, I will simply say the situation was handled poorly and left us very disappointed. What was most upsetting was that no meaningful effort was made to resolve the issue or make up for the inconvenience. Even after speaking with Guest Relations, who mentioned contacting the General Manager, nothing improved the following day. No accommodation or gesture was offered, which was surprising given the hotel's luxury positioning. It is also noticeable that the property feels quite empty during weekdays, except on special occasions or long weekends. Even then, the warmth and hospitality we once associated with this hotel seem to be missing. That said, I want to sincerely recognize Valenzo, who served us daily. He was professional, kind, and incredibly attentive. We never had to ask for anything, he would notice small details, like refilling ice before we even realized it was melting. His service was outstanding and he truly tried to make our stay better. Thank you, Valenzo. You made a difference. It is genuinely sad to see a place that once meant so much to us lose its standard. We hope management takes guest feedback seriously and invests in retraining staff to restore the level of service this property was once known for.
