This is my first negative review I've ever written for any business and if I could have given 0 stars I would have. My advice is to stay far away from this salon as possible. The level of un-professionalism was disgusting. I booked a consultation with the owner, Jess, after seeing she was certified to do hand tied extensions (which I was ecstatic about). After we picked out the color and ordered the extensions, I booked my next appointment and I even gave her a $900 deposit- yes $900. I stressed the importance of having my hair done for a special event later on that day and she assured me it wouldn't be a problem and she'll have me ready in time. Fast forward to the morning of my appointment and she asked me if we could push my 9 am back a half hour and I said no problem. I waited outside in my car since salon didn't open until later. That half hour turned into an hour which turned into 2 hours and still NO SIGN OF HER. I texted, called and was genuinely concerned at that point. I went up the block to get a spray tan because I was on a tight schedule and by the time I was finished it was 12pm- still no word from her. I drove to the salon fuming, but still wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt. I walked inside and to my surprise there she was. I asked what the hell happened, and her response kills me. She said "sorry, I overslept." It's 12 in the afternoon, what kind of business are you running here? Mind you, this is the owner of the salon - what an absolute joke. She overslept and didn't think to call me first thing to apologize? I'm clearly upset at this point as I'm arguing with her in the salon and Jess did absolutely nothing to try and rectify the situation. In fact, she acted annoyed and bothered by me that I even showed up. But the story gets better... I still wanted my extensions done and since I'm pretty reasonable I gave her a 2nd chance and said if she can guarantee I'll be finished in time let's just do it now. She said "ok, did you bring the extensions?" I said what do you mean did I bring the extensions? I ordered them with you and paid for them!! She told me she RETURNED MY EXTENSIONS without my permission. like what??????????? Did she even order them or was she just trying to rob me?? I feel like I'm in a terrible nightmare at this point and just want my money back. I was treated like a worthless, piece of sh*t from everyone at that salon and was not offered anything to make things right- not even an apology. That experience ruined my entire day and I had to go to my event with grown out highlights and no extensions due to the incompetence of this salon. STAY AWAY read more

I am so happy to report that this salon far exceeded my expectations. I made an appointment for a simple blowout and full face of makeup for my upcoming maternity photoshoot. Walking in I was really nervous because if I wasn't happy with the results, there really wasn't anything else I could do. From the moment I walked in everyone was very welcoming, and the salon itself was truly stunning. A HUGE SHOUT OUT TO ISABELLA!!! She really deserves all the praise in the world! I could immediately tell I was in good hands because she was stunning! Absolutely gorgeous girl. She understood exactly what I wanted and did more than just deliver. She was able to effortlessly help me balance my side bangs, gave me beautifully waved hair, and beat my face to ABSOLUTE perfection! I've never felt so beautiful walking out of a salon-- worth every dollar spent. Isabella made my special day all the more amazing. If you're reading this, thank you so much. Words can't begin to describe how amazing you were, and I'm so appreciative of your hard work on me. After two catastrophes at two different salons for color and extensions, I stumbled upon BUA on Instagram. I messaged Becky because I wanted advice on current extensions I had in my hair that were SOO matted and ruined because of the quality of the hair. I was on vacation so there was not much i could do at the moment. She literally went out of her way to keep messaging me to ask how the hair was doing, giving me advice on how to keep the hair as decent as I could until I got home. She told me to come in and she would take my extensions out for free so we could figure out a solution. Unfortunately, I couldn't wait until I got home and took them out myself . Fast forward to a few weeks later we DMd back and forth about color /eventually getting extensions because I was so nervous . Becky allayed my fears and we eased into the entire process... I never felt rushed. Becky and all the BUA girls are amazing at what they do. I can't speak more highly about them! They are all so pleasant to chat with. I always get excited to go get my hair done ! (btw I usually don't enjoy getting my hair done but I just love it there) I leave feeling amazing. Any problems or questions I can ALWAYS hit Becky up. I even message her just to chat sometimes ! She feels like a close friend. I can't see myself going elsewhere. PS. The extensions I have now are honestly the best quality hair I've felt. I've used so many different extension methods and these are just AMAZING!! the owner, Jess , has her own extension brand which IMO is amazing! I think this store is over rated with prices. My daughter started with a 350 payment on first visit to do highlights second visit 450 to get it a little lighter and her hair looks rediculous tiger strips very disappointed with the work done by Arianna. Today was my second time going to this salon and having the owner do my hair, the first time they charged me $350 when the services I got couldn't have been more than $250 they told me it was bc of Covid, today I went back despite how the took advantageous me the first time and figured it would be a Mother's day gift to me from my family and I made an appointment with the owner a month in advance and told her I couldn't do everything in one shot and I couldn't go over $300 she was fully aware and I spoke about my "budget" as she called me today again just to make sure we were both on the same page which we were, she did half her work and let two other people finish for her, she blew out my hair (I wasn't pleased to be honest bc I wanted more highlight at the root of my head and there wasn't (of course she said their was). It their wasn't, I went to pay thinking $300 and as the owner stood next to the girl behind the desk the girl tells me $448 dollars! I NEVER went into a panic attack so fast and stayed crying right I front of them, they BOTH DID NOTHING, I went into the bathroom to breath and I tipped the nice people that did my hair and walked out! I winded up leaving my C.C in the bathroom and called to tell them I would be back to pick it up,before I went back I reached out to the owner and kindly let her know that I was very upset this happened again and why did she do this to me when we talked twice about the price I was able to pay, when I walked in no one was at the front they were all in the back when she saw me she told the girl to get me my card not moving away from her food and that's when I told the girl I would be contacting the better business bureau about this yet again upsetting situation! came in for a half balayage. Appointment with Gianna. Was told I need full head. So i oked it. I told them to leave my natural roots. No glazing. I was told that was extra. As she added highlights i was told each bowl of bleach was extra. 3 hours later. My hair was washed. It was so tangled it took 3 girls to brush out. Than i was told my hair came out "too ashy". So they added some glaze on my hair that maide it orange. Pumpkins orange. I had to sit again with another glaze on. 5 hours later, i was still orange. I was told to sit tight and wait till its blowed dry to see the color. It was yellow brassy orange when dry. Everyone left the salon. I was there for 5 hours. i was so unhappy i was told to come back Friday for a complementary blow out. My hair color was absolutely ruined. I called the salon the next day. They asked me to come in for a quick fix on friday that week. I was there for another 3 hours. They applied some glaze which would strip out the brassy orange. 3 hours later it was the same. I lwft without even drying it. I called the salon they offered to have me come jn forthe 3rd time. No way! $400 later and 8 hours later. Never again. Do not go there. They have inexperienced colorists. My hair is dry and color is completely ruined. read more

So it took me a while to write this. I really do not believe in slamming businesses but I heavily rely on integrity of reviews for myself so I'm going to keep it REAL! I started going to bua within the week my son was born arianna did my hair it took 8 hours I'm an idiot for going post c section and not thinking of how bad a salon my be. I was a mixture of orange brassy blonde. I was convinced especially since I lost hair during my pregnancy to do keratin bond extensions. I paid the entirety and got them in. But now I had a bad dye job. They had to fix it before my extensions were put in. The goal really was I wanted to look great with the extensions for this wedding I had to go to a month and a half later. So after two more color corrections the day of the event they tried to color correct but it took so long that they didn't even have time to wave it or anything and made no apologies or regrets of now making me late for the wedding. If anything they made me seem like a burden. My extensions within the first week came out I mean 5-10 at a time. Jess would say that's the process she's the owner what's the point of sitting through hours of extensions if they come out and leave bald spots. When you make an appointment with Jess which I have done in the past and told when I got there by Jess "I gotta go someone else will kill it." Guess what "they" are pretty new and for the master stylist price you're paying you're getting assistant work done on your hair bc they're just learning. Fast forward a few months and they add a girl named Jessie to the front desk who runs bad moms of Long Islands Facebook group. Last time I was there this is after extensions have been out and I'm just going in for dumb glazes to give my hair something at this point. Has the nerve to say to me I didn't make an appointment and I showed her I did she said that's in a month from now. If you guys don't know how to book people it's one thing but then telling me she had to convince Jess to take me?!!! You're definitely part of a bad group bad customer service. Look I ordered a ponytail figured it would be simple to get in and head to work. Well the ponytail came in this yellow blonde for months it sat there they kept saying I keep updating my color so they have to fix it. Since I started going there and now I loved from Long Beach to merrick to make the trip there just for the pony tail not to be ready and Jessie said we'll really take care of it for you next time is sh***y to say the least. I love the vibes of the slammin music and making you feel like you're a teenager again since they're all for the gram photos. But sending my mom there is a no. The crazy noise and whatever unprofessional way they run their business is their problem but at least do the hair right!!! Save your money seriously pm dm whatever you want me. I'm not one to write poor reviews but I want to make sure no one makes the same mistake I did. I usually have the worst luck with hair stylist (can't really find someone who just understands what I'm asking for) and based off of buas Instagram I thought I'd get what I wanted. The person I wanted to go to ended up no longer being with the company anymore so I had to go with someone who was just available that day. Although this girl was very sweet, she didn't do anything I asked and completely butchered my hair- someone actually called me out and said my hair was uneven which was pretty embarrassing. Usually I would just stick it out but I had to go to another salon to have it fixed. It was clear she was not as educated as she was made out to be (she also charged by 75 dollars- I assumed she was pretty experienced). Also when I was there the other girls working at the salon were extremely unprofessional and were talking so inappropriately. Safe to say I will not be going there again. read more

Most amazing hair salon I've ever been to. Jessica and all the staff made this whole experience feel like normal during such uncertain times. They made sure to use disposable gowns, gloves, and masks. They also made sure to wipe down every seat before and after each client sat down. Found this salon on Yelp when searching for a high rated salon in the area and was able to book a haircut for the same day. Such a stylish salon with beautiful, welcoming stylists. Save your money and your time!! They do not have lamps so color lifting process takes forever...my hair took 6 hours!!!! I've got small kids and time is not something I have a lot of. I had a two second convo with the person who did my hair and they decided to do a bunch of costly things (base breaking, and root blending) when I had only asked for a half head of highlights. I was not happy with the color afterwards and have been trying to get in touch with Jess, the owner, ever since. I guess customer satisfaction isnt a priority here. read more

I should have read the bad reviews on here before trusting Bua Salon with my hair two months before my wedding. I had been to Evan before when he was at another salon and he did a great job with my hair. This time, I asked him for natural highlights. After 8 hours, I walked out with a grey/white balayage. I expressed my dissatisfaction & the response was basically to live with it for a while, and if I don't love it, they can try to tone down the color a bit. They also charged me 350 dollars for this awful service. I paid it because I just wanted to get the hell out of there after this horrible experience. When I called a few days later to complain, the manager, Jess, was sympathetic and did refund me, but it doesn't much matter since I had to pay for a color correction elsewhere & now will have to get a glaze every 4-6 weeks to keep the grey color underneath from reappearing. I will say that The Chop Shop in Long Beach was able to correct the color. If you want a colorist that you can trust, I cannot recommend them enough. Do NOT go to Bua. read more

Lindsey is amazing, I can't believe that my hair is mine.
