Just had my second awful experience there. The food was undercooked the staff subpar and I will never go back. Just go elsewhere and save your money. Ok so I'm not one to usually write reviews, let alone bad reviews. However, this one definitely needs to get out there. I have visited this place now 2 times. And BOTH times I have visited there I have had the most horrible service I've ever experienced. I work a few miles away and only get a 30 minute lunch. So called ahead to pick up my order both times. The first time I ordered the pulled pork sandwich that I found on the menu online. When I arrived I saw that they had a pulled pork sandwich with fries on their menu and it was $5.99. I was charged $10.72. I asked why I was being charged this priced instead of the $5.99 and she said it's because I didn't order the "lunch" portion. Ok fine. But they STILL hadn't even made my order yet and she never offered to change it and she was extremely rude about my questioning even though this was my first time there. My second time there I ordered the same thing but got the "lunch" portion. When I arrived I stood in front of the cash register for a good 6 minutes when multiple employees walked up to the cash register, never even made eye contact with me once or even asked me if I had been helped. Finally what looked like a manager came up to me after that 6 minutes to ask me if I had been helped yet. I said no and paid for my order and then he walked away. I looked in my bag and realized they did not include any silverware for my Mac and cheese. So I stood there another few minutes and the same rude girl from the first time came up to the case register 2 times to ring up an order and walked away. Again, never even acknowledged me. Never made eye contact with me. After the 3rd time I politely said "excuse me" and she said "just a minute" and continued to ignore me for a couple minutes. Then asked me "what did I need?" I asked her if I could please have a fork. Then she said "ok give me a minute." She continued to type things into the cash register for another minute. I could see the plastic silverware right behind her. After waiting and waiting I finally just walked out. By this time I was late going back to work and my food was cold. I didn't even eat it. What a waste of time and money. I will never go back and will never recommend this crappy place again. read more

I'm a fellow smoker on my Weber Smoky Mountain and being new to the area from Ohio we had to try some GA BBQ. Bub-Ba-Q is near our house & we've been twice so far. Love their sweet sauce. Their burnt ends are really good. The portions are huge. You can split and appetizer and a meal and walk out sufficiently stuffed. Not to mention they give you free pork rinds prior to your meal (which are really good by the way). Brought my sister while she was visiting from Ohio and she really liked it. The brisket has been dry both times, but we went in the late evening both nights so could have just been under the heat lamp too long. Wasn't our most favorite but it'll do the trick if we don't want to travel and get a craving (until my WSM comes out of storage). read more

Good 'cue. That means the pulled pork is tender, balanced in smoke & spice, with the right amount of bark. First impression: this place is the quintessential southern BBQ joint. Simplistic decor, a ton of award plaques and trophies for good 'cue, blaring country music and some good 'ole boys (and gals) getting messy with some food. A Livingsocial deal brought us here for dinner last night. They were moderately busy for a random Wednesday night, and it appeared there were only 2 or 3 servers tending to everyone. Our server was polite enough, but I could tell she was seriously stressed. Nevertheless, she took pretty good care of us once she was able to take our order. I was anxious to try their ribs, as I've heard they've won numerous awards for them. I had the ribs and pork combo, which is served with two sides and a piece of grilled Texas toast. You can have your ribs dry or sauced. I always go for dry so I can try all of the sauces. I was relatively happy with everything, and I actually enjoyed their sauces. My favorite was the "sweet" sauce, which surprised me because I usually go for the vinegar sauce. I found their version of sweet to be a nice balance between the vinegar and sweet tastes. I also enjoyed the "Mustard" sauce. For some it's an acquired taste, but I'm a fan. Hubs had the pork and chicken, but thought the chicken was a bit dry. Sides were pretty good. Altogether, we had fries, slaw, mac and cheese and fried okra. I must admit, they have a decent number of sides to pick from, and you'll be pleased if you like more of the southern-style veggie sides with your 'cue. Overall, my first visit falls somewhere between 3 and 4 stars, but I round up for the benefit of the doubt. Appears to be a pretty solid place with good BBQ. Good to know it's close by. read more

Cool spot! Had a quart of Brunswick Stew, Fried Mac n Cheese and a water for a total of $10.49 (not including the tip)! I was satisfied! The B-Stew is ok but the fried Mac is Great! I could eat them shit's all day on my "cheat" days! I may have to stop by here more often whenever I'm working this area! Service was good, TV's are good and the ambiance is good. read more

Very solid BBQ, the sauces are really good & the Mac & cheese bites are the goods. Ribs could be better but the brisket makes up for it. Had some burnt ends and fried mac and cheese to start. The burnt ends were a little disappointing, they were drowned in BBQ sauce and didn't have any smoke flavor. The fried mac and cheese was decent but I was ready for the main course. Pork and briskett with some sides that I can't really remember. I enjoy some smokiness flavor in my BBQ and didn't get too much of that in the meat but I did enjoy the portions and the various sauces. I would like to try this place again and see if the meat has some more flavor. read more

Went around 8pm on a friday and clearly the kitchen was already wrapping up for the last hour. Had 'burnt tips' as an app that were hard and old. Had the chimichonga BBQ thing which looked good and was just ok. Brunswick stew was not covering the wrap and was literally maybe 0.5oz. Service was on point but the kitchen threw in the towel 1 hour before closing and was noticeable. Disappointed but may consider another chance. read more

This is a great BBQ place, average pricing and good service. The brisket is my favorite, especially if you get it on a salad. YUM! The pulled pork is really good, the chicken I have had as well. The okra is perfect most of the time, the corn fritters are really good. Only down fall would be the sauces, not really my choices, the BBQ is good enough thank goodness so I don't need the sauce. My husband and I bought a Groupon and tried Bub-Ba-Q on 7/4/11 for the first time. I read a lot of great reviews and learned about all of the awards they have won! They were SUPER busy but our food and service was excellent. Our waitress made sauce suggestions and kept our drinks full (and she probably refilled them four times or more each). We started with the Burnt Ends which rocked! I would love to see these become an entree instead of an appetizer. My husband had the ribs, potato salad and cole slaw and all were great. The ribs were huge and really meaty with a great crust on top. I had the Spuds and Swine (potato skins, cheese and bbq) which was also really good. They have four sauces on the table, mustard based, sweet sauce, vinegar based and a spicy vinegar type sauce. We eat out everyday and were really impressed with Bub-Ba-Q! Today we tried to eat at Bubbaq; however, the lack of attention from staff and their clear lack of customer service caused us to leave. When we arrived on a Sunday afternoon at 1:30, the restaurant had patrons, but was neither full nor busy. While we waited to be seated, mutiple staff walked past us. When we asked to be seated, a young woman snapped that someone would be with us in a moment. We were seated several minutes later. We sat and we sat and we sat. No one came to take a drink order or say a word to us. My husband and I decided we didn't need to spend our money in a place that clearly had no regard or respect for its customers. I own a business and if my staff behaved in that manner, every single one would be fired. No excuses. read more

My only complaint is the owners daughter (maybe 6 years old) tends to hang around your table and is really bossy... This kinda ruins the relaxed atmosphere... Haha read more

Really 3.5 stars...been here often and had many variations of the Q. Sides are good and the Mac and cheese is particularly tasty. Dry rub ribs have always been a hit and the Brunswick stew is delicious. This would be an easy 4 stars but have gotten severely burnt ribs twice. I have been here about 5 times over the last couple of years. Each time has been fine. Today I ordered take out 1 lb. pork and 1lb. chicken. The meat was ready quickly and the I love the sauce. However, we have found 4 bones in the meat. I excused the first bone. I was surprised at the 2nd bone. I decided to write a review after the 3rd and 4th bone. If you're a brisket lover, you've found your home. Nice thick slices with a sweet smoke aroma arrive on your plate that will have your mouth watering before your get 'em across your lips. My test is to take a slice and pull on the ends; if it "accordians" then you're getting close, but if you can pluck it apart with a tug and have a nice bite - you've arrived at where a Georgian knows how to BBQ a Texas cut of meat. The ribs were perfect, with the meat pulling off and leaving the bone clean. Moist, flavorful meat is their expertise. But don't forget the Corn Fritters. They're THE perfect side. read more

The barbecue is great! I found this restaurant when we moved to the area and decided to give it a try since someone said that it was showcased on the Food Network. YES YES YES!!!!! I could eat at Bubba-Q every day! I get the Pork sandwich lunch that comes with a side (get the fried okra) and a drink for only 4.99! I love the Mustard sauce the best! Theres nothing like this Bar-B-Q joint. I have a friend that comes over occasionally from Englad that has to eat here everytime before she goes back. Always prompt and friendly service. We have eaten here a dozen times or so over the past year and half. The food, especially the chicken has always been good and never dry - a long with everything else. Unfortunately, the last few times we have gone into this restaurant, the food has been off. The chicken has been dry, the fries were soggy, the corn on the cob was very small and had a gassy - propane taste to it along with the bread. The service still remains good. For $50 - $60 bucks - there are better places - like Dreamland. read more
