City Barbeque has become our regular BBQ haunt near by. This chain restaurant has consistently satisfied our craving for smoked meats. We typically get the same three meat plate that you see here and rarely swerve for any other choices. We like what we like. The chicken was the best tonight because it was the juiciest out of the three meats. The Brisket and pork were good too but slightly drier. Not a problem for my wife, but I like my brisket fatty and juicy. The flavors were there. For the sides we ALWAYS get the green beans. These are some of the best green beans I've had anywhere. Same with the cole slaw. Always excellent. The staff are always very friendly and the food comes out quickly! It's counter service and they call your name when it's ready. There was one young man who hustled and met one of the guests half way. Great service! The restaurant is clean and well maintained and stocked with a nice rustic look with plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. Plenty of space for large parties. Looks like they do a great catering menu as well and I wouldn't hesitate to feed a crowd with this delicious food. If you want consistency and quick service, you can't go wrong with City Barbeque. Oh and don't forget the banana pudding!! That was a nice ending and tonight we got it for free by leaving an honest review. That review got 5 Stars too! Love this place! read more

Good heavens I hate to leave a negative review, however it's necessary. Saturday 6-6 we were here to get takeout lunch, which consisted of 3 brisket sandwiches, some various recommended sides and drinks. They're very busy, which is a good sign, and Lots of people ordering the brisket sandwiches. The line and wait time was long, as you'd expect. Upon bringing the home to feed out of town guests, we all noticed one thing in common: the brisket meat in these sandwiches was soft and quite mushy. We all appreciate and eat bbq, had we not, there are other places around here like JDs bbq or Williamson Brothers. No, we were here for brisket sandwiches. We all cook to some degree or another and all came up with the same conclusion that the brisket had been chemically tenderized ( think Adolph meat tenderizer). I'm thinking that because of the huge quantities of brisket City sells, that tenderizer in pre-injected prior to shipping, to help it cook quicker than normal brisket has to cook and allows City to produce more brisket with the cooking facilities the have. Now I could be wrong and the only other explanation is that it sat under a heat lamp for hours and hours. I know that's not the case, as anyone that's been there knows how busy they seem to stay. To say we were disappointed would be an overstatement. Maybe we'll try City again in a year or so, hopefully after they weigh quantity versus quality. read more

Brisket and pulled pork were both super tender; glad we chose the family portions for two men and a pregnant lady, lol! Potato salad and mac&cheese were good, coleslaw not too crunchy, and the cornbread super moist!! Only downfall- the peach cobbler I swear was primarily crumbs, with maybe 4-5 pieces of peaches. On several occasions we have found way too much fat in the meats. We understand that a little is to be expected, but biting into a big glob of fat is not a happy experience... On a happy note: The green beans are so very good I would go there just for them! Almost as good as grandma's!!! read more

My family and I stood at the counter waiting to order for five minutes. No one acknowledged us even though they walked right by us a couple of times. It appeared to be understaffed as there were more than 10 orders on the screen and two people scanning through to put orders together. I'm afraid I need an EMT to come by, because I'm just about to pass out from a food coma. Dang! This place is good. Last time I had the pulled pork, so this time I asked for a 1/2 chicken - I won't do that again, because it was so good I ate it all up. My wife would have scolded me for sucking the last little bits of meat off the bone. I can hear her now saying, "Darlin, polite people just don't do that in public." I'd then reply, "Look around, I ain't the only one." I ate all but one piece of Texas toast, and now I can't get out of the chair. I had two sides - potato salad and baked beans. The potato salad was fresh, cool and simply amazing! I remembered from my last visit that I loved the baked beans. All I can say is - "Oh my gosh!" As many of you readers know I have very high standards for my BBQ restaurants - City BBQ exceeds all my expectations. I just need to remember to bring my wife, friend or a coworker next time, because literally one meat and a couple of sides would be sufficient for two people. Corporate BBQ with a drive through line, you can't expect this to be the best you've ever had. Chicken and turkey were decent but pretty dry. Brisket was moist with a good bark, we received the "fatty" side so I can't speak for the flat. Sides were better than the food tbh. Banana pudding and peach cobbler looked great but did not try. Food took pretty long and people that ordered in front of use were receiving there food before ours. We ordered the pulled pork, corn pudding, baked beans and dinner rolls/ cornbread. The pulled pork needed a bit more seasoning and was a little dry. Good portion for the price, but would've been better if we enjoyed eating it. The baked beans were good! Cooked with meat and seasoned better than the meat. Really enjoyed the cornbread pudding. brisket was great! my dads pork was 95% fat so that was disappointing.. also the peach cobbler was probably the worst peach cobbler I've ever had but i will be back for the brisket and the INCREDIBLE customer service. However, I hope they can make improvements on the pork plates and look at it and see that it's all fat before serving and hopefully get a new peach cobbler recipe, in the nicest way read more

My husband found City Barbeque through a Yelp search...apparently the Woodstock location has been open for 3+ years. Absolutely the BEST brisket ever!! I've tried this restaurant twice before and the bbq was mostly fat. I haven't been in a loooooong time but decided to try it again today. I got the Pitmaster nachos with pork. There was very little edible meat on the nachos. It was mostly large slimy globs of fat. So gross. The service is great, but I will never go here again. Do yourself a favor and grab both, get the pint of banana pudding, not the small one. It has caramel in it and it's truly yummy. Corn pudding is a must! Delicious. Mac & cheese is good and the baked beans are ok. Now for the loss and it's a big loss because it's the main attraction. The brisket. I got the half pound for $12.99. It's dry with no seasoning. I was greatly disappointed. Literally ate two slices and threw the rest away. I wasted hard earned money on that! I'll return to try the pulled pork and hopefully it's better. Wahoo!!!! A new BBQ place in town that has gluten free and other options! We saw it and stopped in ASAP! First off everyone was friendly, they knew the menu and ingredients even though it's all online if you want to plan ahead. We came on a Saturday so it was busy but the food came out hot and fast! The place is clean, lots of seating inside and outside. We got the smoked Turkey, Brisket, beans, cole slaw and potato salad and everything was delicious! Good sweet tea and good lemonade! Ummm .... YUM! On a whim we ordered City Barbeque tonight via DoorDash. As a fan of BBQ, it was my quest to check out how City Barbeque compares with the rest. From a packaging perspective, everything came neatly packaged, well wrapped and with plenty of sauces, utencils, and napkins. So from a service perspective, this "to go" order was on point! Fast forward to us getting out all of the food, 1/2 Chicken, 12 Wings, Baked Mac & Cheese, Fried Okra, BBQ Beans, hush puppies and sweet tea and WOW what a spread!!! Within minutes I had BBQ sauce all over my hands and was chowing down on an amazing smoked chicken breast. Tender, juicy, flavorful and cooked to perfection. I had multiple sauces to try and found the original and the sweet sauce to be my favorite. Next I started munching on the baked mac & cheese, fried okra and bbq beans....the sides are all equally deserving of being the "pick one" as an add on to your entree. Like these are deserving of a prize - each one of them! The hush puppies and Texas toast were also good, however, it was hard to have room for bread after cleaning my plate. What an amazing experience, from start to finish the food was hot when it arrived, flavorful and so good! I have ate here several times and it can be very good or just OK. Pork is normally safest bet and I order it more often. Brisket can be dry and overcooked. Ribs tend to be on smallish scale but when not too done are quite good. Specialty items that they have occasionally were really good, smoked pastrami and pork belly burnt ends. My family of 3 households met up at your woodstock location, and our experiences were so awful. The food never came for 2 people, meanwhile everyone else nearly finished. Upon checking the order statustatus the staff made no apologies for forgetting their order, might I ad, it was $60.00 for two. When the food came out it was cold!!! The portions have gotten so small that you leave hungry. My pulled pork salad looked like a side salad, that's the second time this has happened, compared to less than a year ago when the food was fantastic! The staff in the beginning was enthusiastic and happy to see us, now we are a bother. Where did the sense of pride go? Yes, the place is clean, but the staff and food has lost it's passion, this is down sad! Customers no longer get what they pay for and this pains me to write after 3 attempts with hopes! read more

I was driving by and saw this new addition to Woodstock and decided to give it a try. Everything seems to be a la carte. I ordered the Nashville Hot chicken. Let's start there, the chicken was seasoned pretty well, and while I normally don't eat slaw, I kept the sandwich as it came and overall I thought the sandwich was good. BUT, it was cold and it's not a HOT chicken sandwich. It was just seasoned, nothing spicy about it at all. The fries were hot and tasty, and I also ordered hush puppies which were crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. I thought those were good. The lemonade is made fresh. Taste like maybe they used honey instead of sugar. I also tried the chocolate chip cookies which they say they make fresh daily and those were soft and gooey. I may try it again so sample the bbq. I did drive through and service was friendly. I may eat inside next time to check out the amenities. Giving it a 3 for the cold sandwich because the rest of my food was hot. Went to the Woodstock location for the first time they are new to my neighborhood. The atmosphere is clean and open, the employees were friendly and helpful with navigating the menu, the food was delicious, but the greens are spicy so be careful if you don't like spicy. I do, but my Hubby does not. Everything was tasty brisket, ribs, sausage, chicken and beans (I ordered the sampler pack) especially the corn bread which was a treat. The Manager Mr. Jones was friendly and helpful with helping me download the app. I will return, this is going to be my happy place for BBQ! read more
