    Shrimpers heaven
    Eyely B.

Came here around 4 on a Saturday and we were seated pretty quickly, usually there's a host standing outside to bring you in but there was no one there so we wandered in. Our waiter was very attentive and nice. Our food was decent. The shrimp in the shrimpers heaven had almost no taste and the onion rings fell apart when you picked them up, so that was disappointing the Cajun shrimp entree was great and so was the salmon meal. It was also extremely loud inside, just due to the music. We only come here about once a year and that's enough for us!

Crab stuffed shrimp- tasted frozen and texturally not pleasing

Decided to take my kids here on New Year's Eve for a fun experience, but was very let down.... This place is located on the 3rd floor south side. Growing up in the area, I have been to this restaurant before and had some fun nostalgic memories. The decor has not changed a bit, which is fine. The restaurant itself did seem pretty clean and put together. Walking in, my boys and I stood awkwardly while 2 hosts talked about their plans for later that evening. One of them stating "I'm going to get so f**ked up tonight!" I don't think my kids heard it, but EXTREMELY unprofessional! We were finally seated, which made me feel like a burden since the hosts seemed annoyed they had to stop their conversation. Our server was Nicholas and he was lovely. Very caring, professional and prompt! I only have nice things to say about him! The food has gone down in quality DRASTICALLY! This used to be comparable to a red lobster, but now EVERYTHING tasted frozen. We got the shrimp cocktail to start. The shrimp had sand veins in almost all of them! Gross! The shrimp was also mushy! Not the right texture. My kids got chicken strips and popcorn chicken with fries. All had a freeze burn taste to them. I got the crab stuffed shrimp and again, it tasted like they just heat it up in a microwave. Very disappointing. The ONLY reason I am giving this place 2 stars is because Nicholas was a delight. Save your money and go somewhere else!

Shrimpers Heaven & Bourbon Street mahi and shrimp

We've visited Bubba Gump's several times when we're at MOA & they always have really good seafood choices & are actually reasonably priced. On our most recent visit, my husband had the Bourbon Street Mahi & Shrimp and I got Shrimpers Heaven. I love the Shrimpers heaven for the variety I get in both shrimp & sauce. My husband really likes their blackening seasoning on his proteins. The one thing I will say that could be improved is their hostesses. They seem to wander off a lot & people stand around looking lost waiting for them. Sometimes they're outside the doors, sometimes by the menus inside, sometimes completely MIA. Could definitely improve here.

We stopped at bubba gump shrimp during our mall of America bar crawl and ended up having the most pleasant server Kamala. She was seriously the best at her job. So attentive and caring for our group, going the extra mile to explain menu items. She totally made our experience unforgettable!

It's not a trip to the Mall of America without a trip to either Bubba Gump or the Rainforest Cafe. This fun Forrest-Gump restaurant is overpriced and the food isn't the main draw--that's the decor. However, it did exceed our (low) expectations. Our food was tasty and the service was good.

Mahihi Fish with grilled shrimp and Baja Ceviche for appetizers

We went there for Saturday dinner, and we were on the waitlist for about 40 minutes! Lots of families and people celebrating birthdays! So, if you want a lowkey, quiet dinner, this might not be the place for you especially on a Saturday! Server was really nice and checked in on us periodically! But, he forgot one of our appetizers. We had enough food ordered so we didn't care to bring it up! (It wasn't charged either.) Mahihi fish was really good! Good thing is they listed amount of calories beside each item! If you are looking for lower calories meal with lesser oil, I'd definitely recommend the Mahihi and grilled shrimp! Forrest seafood feast is okay! Portion size was big, but everything was fried. So, we got tired of eating it eventually and packed some to go! The fish fillet was also salty, but shrimp was fine. They also do free refills for sodas, but the price is on the higher side for sodas. They also have their own bathrooms, which is really nice given that the public bathrooms are packed especially on this floor! There's a license plate sign on each table, and if you flip it, it indicates that you need assistance!!

Great service from our server Nicholas! Everything came out quick (and correct!) and the food was very tasty. I got the seasonal mahi mahi with lobster cream and it was a great choice. I always love the vibe in Bubba Gumps since jts a forrest gump theme and so cute! Really enjoyed this stop in MOA!

    Grilled Shrimp Skewer

RC wanted to celebrate his new job and picked a great sushi spot in the MOA (on a Saturday...); it had a 90-minute wait list, so we wandered over to Bubba Gump where we knew the seafood was good. We waited about 20 minutes and we were up! Our server, Levi, greeted us at once although the restaurant was very busy. We ordered drinks and settled in to peruse the menu. The atmosphere here is a little noisy, but fun with Gump memorabilia adorning the walls. A TV over the bar played Forrest Gump on repeat. Other TVs were tuned to sports. We like Fried pickles, so we got the app to share. The pickles are chips which I prefer to spears and the tempura breading was light and crispy. They came with ranch, which neither of us cares for, but a few glugs of Tabasco and you have Southwestern ranch! Delicious. RC decided on the Cajun spiced Crab & Shrimp boil, a low-country boil done right! Delivered in a pot and dumped onto a faux newspaper-covered tray the snow crab legs and fat, plump shrimp were joined by small cobs of corn, potatoes, and chunks of andouille sausage. I tasted a bit of crab and spice was perfect, heat and a little sweet from the crab. I told Levi I just wanted shrimp and he pointed me to the sides where I ordered a Grilled Shrimp Skewer. Six fat, tail on, beautifully spiced and grilled was the perfect amount of food for me. Service was excellent, attentive and friendly. As a former server (decades ago) I was impressed by the notches in the plastic tumblers, allowing servers to stack glasses securely and carry five or more at a time! Truly enjoyable.

    Jenny's Salmon and Shrimp
    Sammy K.

The food was amazing. I ordered Jenny's Salmon and shrimp. I was pleasantly surprised with the size of the salmon that came out. It was a bigger piece than most places give. The shrimp had a phenomal char on them which added amazing flavor! The rice and broccoli complimented the dish perfectly as it was light but still filling. The host was great and should be a waitress. She made me feel welcomed immediately. The server was good. She was working multiple tables but still came over to check on me a few times without SL being overbearing. The place is cool and has a big bar. Gift shop full of things from the movie Forest Gump. Not much space but I was seated comfortably! Happy I finally got to try it out!!!

    Outside seating

Upon insistence from out of town friends, who wanted to eat here as their hometown did not have a Bubba Gump Shrimp, went here on a Saturday evening. The place was maybe 1/4 full(not a great sign). The host was super nice and so was our server. The restaurant is clean. The server did the forest gump trivia which our party enjoyed. Only ding about the ambiance is that outside seating has loud music playing so talking with each other can be difficult. Now onto the food and hence the rating. The menu is limited, which is not a big deal, but man, if your menu is limited, you would think that they would focus on the quality but the food was mid at best. We had a couple of appetizers including calamari and multiple entrees and for some items the salt was too much but for others like Alabama chicken, the food was just bland. Between appetizers, drinks and entrees, we paid about $150 for the party of 4, and imo, the food was not worth it. But again kudos to the staff working there, they were all smiles, accommodating and trying to ensure that people have a good experience.

Ordered the strawberry salad. It was as delicious as. It had plenty of chicken, nuts, apples and strawberries. The dressing was light and very good . Service was quick and responsive.

Service tremendously SLOW!! Not enough staff working. Food took an excessive amount of time to reach the table. Greeter was friendly but performing several jobs. The bar associate was handling a large dining area. When our food arrived, my fries were not hot and the Seafood Fest was NOT worth $26! Very disappointed.

However, my friends and I were craving Cajun food and wanted to give it a shot. Boy, were we surprised! The seafood was so fresh when we ordered. We got the shrimp, crawfish, and snow crab legs. Maybe they just got their shipment on Monday, but it really hit the spot. They did mess up my order ( I ordered House Mix with Medium spice but got Garlic Butter with Mild spice), but it didn't change the fact I enjoyed my meal thoroughly. Also, their corn was great. I'm usually a fan of seafood boils that have a thicker sauce consistency (like King Cajun), so if you're the same, you might want to skip. Their sauce is a bit on the more liquid side. I would say if you're gonna eat here, place your order online and pick up your food and head out. It will hit the spot, but you don't want your car parked around outside cause it's honestly a bit scary.

Fri-Sun they shop runs a "backdoor burger bar" after the normal po' boy shop house and you know I had to get the fried cauliflower. The dish is, more or less, the same as the one from Little Tijuana so I had to get it. This version seemed to have been made a bit more "edina" by removing a lot of the spicy ginger flavor from the original that I love so much. It was still really good, though. Perfectly tempura'd florets with kewpie and a sweet soy-based sauce like hoisin. I'd get it again (I always do) but recommend getting the full Little T's experience if you get the chance

We also shared combo 1 and added 1lb of snow crab (two clusters). The House Cajun sauce was good, but heavy on garlic/"jarlic" and could have been saucier. Next time I'd ask for/order a side of extra sauce for dipping. The dish could have used more than 2 (halves) or corn on the cob. Everything in the boil tasted good! Some other highlights: 1) there's a shared parking lot to the side of the building as well as metered parking in the front. It was busy when I went, so I parked around the corner- for free. 2) I wasn't a fan of the ordering process. Before I get into why, I'd recommend browsing the menu ahead of time to determine what you want. That said, we had a reservation (on Valentine's Day) and the place was understandably busy. There wasn't a hostess station so we headed to the register to check-in. That's where we learned that before being seated, we'd have to first order (and pay). With how extensive the menu was, and crowded the immediate area was- the process felt a bit chaotic and overwhelming. 3) The space is cute. A good amount of tables, and simple but cute decor. After being seated, staff stopped by at different points with bibs, gloves, and disposable plates/utensils. 4) Food took a long time to come out, but I won't ding them because again... it was busy. However, having to remind and re-remind staff of missing items (rice, garlic bread) did leave an unfavorable impression. My hope is things are more buttoned-up on an average day. That said, while I'm giving grace for the cons I still rate it as okay. I'd be down for giving it another shot during a non-peak period to see if the experience is better or the same.

Don't get me wrong: the lobster roll is just as terrific as the one downtown! But the service was a disappointment, and the quality of prep work leaves something to be desired. We watched two other tables, seated after we were, get waited on and receive their food before we could finally flag our waiter down to place our order. The crab cakes on the Niçoise salad were perfectly sized and delicious, but the potatoes and beans had not been adequately trimmed. Note well: if your order contains olives, some of them may have pits. I don't blame the kitchen for this -- it's always a risk with olives. There's a hefty amount of industrial plastic covering part of the kitchen. This was evident on the way to the restrooms. So perhaps they're experiencing growing pains, or equipment replacement, plus Operation Metro Surge has not been kind to the hospitality industry! I'm hopeful that things could improve. In the meanwhile, though, we're sticking with the original when we want that perfect lobster roll.
