White & Wing chicken combo (got sides of Mac and cheese and biscuits)
Emily A.

Visited 12/11/25. I really love Southern Social as a happy hour spot. It has solid happy hour options and their shareables are perfect. Super spacious, which is nice and doesn't force you to have a reservation depending on when you go. Highlights: -Happy Hour food menu-huge range of selections, fair prices, and we loved each item we got (biscuits, nachos, fried pickles). The fried pickles are definitely a lighter batter and coating and a smaller pickle, so fried pickle regulars may have opinions about this, but I liked that they didn't feel as greasy. -Nachos-we devoured the bbq nachos and one of my friends got them the following week when we visited -Clever holiday drink names/concepts-super fun ideas and we loved the "interactive" aspect of pouring our ornaments into the glass. Other thoughts: -I have yet to find a cocktail that I truly love here. I've cycled through at least like 7 drinks or so including holiday and other specials across different visits and they tend to have stronger more in your face flavors. I'm determined to find one though because I love their HH! -On this occasion we were a bit rushed out towards the end and felt it. I thought it was just because they were busier which is totally understandable, but on a visit the following week when they weren't busy due to bad weather, our table felt this again. We had been thinking of getting more drinks but our checks were out to us before we could consider it. Not the hugest deal, but something to note if you're planning on staying for a bit. Overall, I'll definitely still come back, especially due to the really good happy hour selections and the great food options. The southern component makes it stand out from similar restaurants and I would re-order pretty much every food I've had here!

Had a great time at Southern Social. It has a nice atmosphere and the staff were friendly. We went for lunch and they had a great lunch deal! I had the pork sandwich which was huge and the Bolo Peach flatbread which was flavorful. My partner had Mac and cheese, grits, and fried chicken which were all very savory. Beignets for dessert are a must - they were fantastic! I definitely will be coming back!

We went here on a Saturday afternoon around 3:30, and seated right away. Our waitress was pretty attentive, but slow at times which is to be expected on a Saturday afternoon! All of our food came as ordered and was delicious. We mentioned it was my birthday and asked for a candle to put in the desert, and our waitress happily gave us a candle! She even gave us a free birthday dessert without hesitation. We were seated in the bar area, so it was a little bit louder, but I have also been in the main restaurant area and the volume level is also pretty high.

Food was really good. Cheese curds were really yummy and the peach salad i had with feta was really tasty as well.

Good service here, we were seated right away for brunch and didn't have to wait too long in between check ins with our waitress. I ordered the not my gumdrops button, definitely a more unique cocktail but delicious nonetheless. The shrimp and grits weren't as cheesy as I prefer but it was tasty. I also liked the fried pickles and the ample amount of parking space.

This was my first time dining at any of the Southern Social restaurants. I was there for a birthday dinner with a group of 9 that were able to accommodate for. I will say that overall service was slow for a Wednesday night. Our server was nice and gave great recommendations but we often had to ask to order as he was walking by. Let's talk about the Debutante punch that is for a group of 4 or more depending on which size you get.... IT WAS SO GOOD! I kept asking if they even put alcohol in it because I couldn't taste it all- a gift and a curse lol. But overall, our table really enjoyed it. It's vodka, elderflower, lavender and lemon! We also had the cornbread which was the number 1 recommendation. At first it tasted burnt which later I think was the smoked cheddar. Once the honey better was melted I did taste a difference but it wasn't my favorite. I also had the dry rub wings, Mac and cheese and biscuits. I loved the wings as they were crisp and full of flavor. The Mac and cheese was also very good! It was served HOT and creamy. It has pimento cheese which can be an acquired taste for some but I loved it. And the biscuits... I liked them better than the cornbread. Served with jam and they just melted in my mouth. I would definitely return and bring my family!

Had dinner here with my mom this week, it was fantastic!! I had a margarita, the she-crab soup (literally wanted to eat 7 bowls of it) and the Carolina Summer Risotto. Our waiter was attentive, the food came out quickly and was delicious. The patio is open now, so we'll sit out there next time! Lots of gluten free options for my mom, which she appreciated.

We came here kind of late so the kitchen was getting ready to close but we ordered quite a few things. We got the pork belly.. it was pretty good, had a nice crunch, flavor, and it was tender, no complaints there. We also ordered the wedge salad.. it was not really a wedge salad, and it was absolutely drenched in dressing to the point where it was hardly edible. We also got the shrimp and grits.. it was very ok. Not a ton of flavor, there were like 3 pieces of shrimp in there and it was just not it at all. The service was also very sub par. We understood that the kitchen was closing soon but she didn't tell us that so as we were finishing our food I asked if we could see the dessert menu and she told us (pretty rudely) that the kitchen was closed and even had the manager come over to tell us that. Ok, it would have been nice to have a warning. It was cute in there.. a decent bar space. Just could be better.. especially when it comes to food and customer service.

Crispiest chicken sandwich I've ever had. Fried chicken has a good breading on it it isnt too much. I dont like heavy breading. Walleye does kinda taste like Shreks armpit but you gotta be a Walleye fan I guess but breading on that is good as well. Sweet potatoe casserole is good.

Shrimp and Grits

Southern Social - A Flavorful Escape Worth Every Bite! If you're looking for a culinary hug from the South, Southern Social delivers it with a side of flair and a whole lot of yum. First up, the savory stars: Fried Green Tomatoes over Grits ( These weren't your average fried green tomatoes -- they were crispy, tender, and perched on the fluffiest bed of cheesy grits. Topped with tangy pickled veggies including jalapeños and a drizzle of spicy sauce, it was like a Southern block party on my plate. Shrimp and Grits Sweet corn, hearty grits, smoky bacon bits, plump shrimp, melty cheese, and scallions all tangled together in a bowl of pure comfort. Every bite was a confetti blast of sweet, savory, and slightly spicy. I'd eat this again faster than you can say "Bless your heart." And now... the dessert that could launch a thousand ships: Bourbon Bread Pudding A tower of golden slices of bread pudding , crowned with a mountain of creamy vanilla ice cream, then drenched in caramel sauce. Let's just say my diet politely excused itself from the table. And honestly? Zero regrets. The patio vibes were perfect for a sunny afternoon, service was friendly and upbeat, and my tastebuds are still sending me thank-you notes. Pro Tip: Come hungry, wear stretchy pants, and save room for dessert. Southern Social, you've officially earned a spot on my "Repeat Visits" list. Until next time -- keep those grits creamy and that caramel flowing!

Super cute restaurant with plenty of seating and big windows that let in lots of natural light, giving it a warm, welcoming feel. The ambiance is cozy yet lively -- perfect for a casual night out or a relaxed dinner with friends. The bar area is especially lovely, with a great drink selection and friendly bartenders. The menu has so many delicious southern comfort food options, all flavorful and satisfying. Service was excellent -- the staff were kind, attentive, and made sure everything came out quickly. Parking was easy and close by, which made the visit even more convenient. Overall, a fantastic spot for anyone craving a cozy, comforting meal in a beautiful setting!

first-time visitor to @southernsocialchaska i forgot to snap pics of the interior/exterior....but it was packed. easily one of the busiest restaurants i've seen in a while, and for good reason. the space itself feels perfect for a big group dinner or even a cozy date night. the weather was prefect and we even got to soak up likely our last night sitting out on the patio this season. we ordered a little bit of everything: the shrimp pasta special, wagyu smash burger, chicken sandwich, bolo peach pizza, pimento cheese mac & and some hush puppies to share. the hush puppies were actually decent, especially for a MN spot. but overall, across the spread, the spice level definitely leaned "MN nice." not quite as southern as i hoped, but still tasty across the board. only downside? the space is huge and they seemed super understaffed on friday, so service was a little tough. our server was new, and with the crowd size, it was a bit chaotic. still, the food hit the spot, and i'm honestly just happy it's only 8 minutes from home! will 100% be back to see how they settle in

Wedge salad and turkey sandwich
Emily S.

Went here for a weekday lunch. They have a lunch special that is pick 2 options for $12. I had the wedge salad and 1/2 turkey sandwich. Both items were tasty and the portion sizes for lunch were filling. I also tried the hush puppies which weren't my favorite. The sauces on the side helped but I wouldn't need to order these again. Our server was nice and attentive and the atmosphere of the restaurant is very inviting and trendy. I would definitely go here again for lunch as it's such a good deal!

Yelp reviewers have no taste. They just want a slab of meat and they're all happy. I should've tried their sauces before I bought anything. The barbecue sauces were all ketchup based. They added in too much apple cider vinegar and the sauces were too viscous and runny. A good barbecue sauce has molasses, brown sugar, and tomato sauce not ketchup and white sugar which is what these were made from. I'd have been better off bringing in my own bottle of barbecue sauce from the grocery store. We ordered a half rack 6 ribs and two sides of coleslaw and potato salad. The coleslaw was runny and too liquidy. It had zero buttermilk in it. It was also made with apple cider vinegar which is a HUGE NO, NO. The potato salad was meh. No mustard. Just white potato salad. THEY HAD NO CORNBREAD! How much does a box of jiffy cornbread cost?!? Seriously, this business should NOT be in the rib business. The half rack of ribs: DRY, DRY, DRY. They were baked way too long. The ribs were flavor-less. I would not go back again. It's a huge shame for a rib joint to be this bad. The ribs were such a huge disappointment. Not even a smoked flavor was ever detected. I hope they don't go down the liquid smoke route either because that's just driving off a cliff at that point. I'm DONE listening to yelp reviews. Yall have no clue what you're talking about.

The dish is, more or less, the same as the one from Little Tijuana so I had to get it. This version seemed to have been made a bit more "edina" by removing a lot of the spicy ginger flavor from the original that I love so much. It was still really good, though. Perfectly tempura'd florets with kewpie and a sweet soy-based sauce like hoisin. I'd get it again (I always do) but recommend getting the full Little T's experience if you get the chance

But on our drive there, we decided we'd both try something that we typically wouldn't try to see if it changed our views. I tried the breakfast sandwich. It was decent, not anything I'd ever crave. The bacon overpowered everything else, even the everything bagel! She did the egg farm grazer which was vegetables and quinoa topped with an egg. She said it was fine as well. Both of our meals were on par with previous experiences. Our two other sisters chose some sort of waffle. One was the hope waffle which was good, standard waffle with fruit. The other was chicken and waffles, the taste is decent but the portion was surprisingly large! 4 pieces of chicken with the waffle! As we finished with our meals, I was happy that we weren't disappointed with our food, so that was a win! But they watch your time so carefully. The moment we were sitting for 90 mins on the dot, they asked us to go. So if you're looking for a place to catch up with someone, don't let it be here!

First off, going through the hidden Coke machine entrance is actually really fun and makes the whole place feel like a little adventure. The decor and speakeasy atmosphere are definitely the standout. Very cool space. VERY loud though. Like "lean across the table and say WHAT?" loud at times. The waitress was super nice and recommended a mocktail for me that called Ass in the Sand. It ended up being really good. It tasted like an elevated lemonade and was probably one of my favorite parts of the meal. Started with the rolls and whipped honey butter which were delicious. Very soft, warm, and honestly dangerous because I could've just kept eating bread all night. For the main meal, I did the Wagyu Burger with Parmesan fries. The burger itself was okay but surprisingly didn't have a ton of flavor outside of the grilled/charred taste. The Parmesan fries were actually the standout for me -- hand cut fries and parmesan fries are just hard to mess up. My partner tried the Mushroom Soup en Croute and wasn't a fan because the mushrooms were blended and he said it lacked flavor. He also had a Steak Taco special using their medallion steak and said even with lime it still needed more flavor. Finished with Crème Brûlée which is always a classic favorite for me and this one was good. Overall: fun experience, cool hidden entrance, great decor, good mocktail and bread, but the actual food menu is pretty limited and the flavors didn't totally wow me for the price. Glad I went and finally crossed it off my list, but probably a one-and-done visit for me.
