I went in for a shave and a mustache trim. Not the most common service but not a completely rare one either Barber was a nice kid but he could work on a few things. 1. Forgot aftershave (my face was on fire) 2. Didn't really use much good pre shave or lather the shaving cream in3. Didn't really put much effort to trim my mustache. Like enough to where I didn't really want to ask him to keep going to avoid the awkwardness. 4. Went home and had quite a few nicks (some good pre shave care would have prevented most of them). Almost felt like a dry shave. I don't want to say it was bad just saying the kid could be real good if he'd just take the time to iron out the details. Anyone can go home and shave themselves - getting it done at the barber is supposed to be a nice thing you do for yourself - a luxurious experience. Barber shop itself is cool. Four genuine, authentic dudes who all give great cuts, charge a fair price, and establish the sense of community that keeps me and my sons coming back for more. A blessing dropped out of thin air. I was driving around point Loma running errands when I noticed I was in need of a haircut. I goggled places around me and Bubbas Barber shop popped up. I gave a call to see if they had time for a hair cut. This was around 10am. The guy who answered the phone had a very pleasant up beat voice. He let me know that they were full at the time but I could come in around 11:30. I went on with my errands. A few moments later I got a call back and they were able to fit me in at the current time. The shop was so easy to find and parking was great. Walked in was welcomed by all four barbers. I was offered something to drink and a seat to wait intily turn. I was them called up by Daren for my cut. What an amazing story military vet learned how to cut hair in the military. Went on to barber school and then later he also went to cosmetology school as well. I can tell you I was a little apprehensive about going to a barbershop in the middle of Point Loma being a gay man apprehensive about going to a barbershop in the middle of Point Loma being a gay man. Everyone made me feel completely welcomed. I ended up having conversations with all the barbers about traveling in Mexico. This is must go to place if you are looking or needing a cut or beard treatment. I will definitely be going back. Thank you Daren for the great cut and beard trim. read more

Been coming here since I moved to Ocean beach in 2020. Tony has been my barber from the first cut has always been spot on. Making appointments is the way to go as walk ins can be hard to come by because all 4 barbers typically are cutting hair. Great environment with music in the background. Beer, water, chocolate milk and plenty of other drinks are available in their fridge to have while you wait. All of the guys here are friendly, and conversations are always flowing. Price is pretty standard ($25) but the quality is better. Street parking but I always park across the street in the 7-11 lot. read more

Cody saved my husband from a previously horribly done haircut elsewhere. The moment we walked in he was able to tell what was done wrong and correct it. Walked in this morning after a terrible experience at a different establishment yesterday, and was warmly greeted by Cody. Cody offered me some refreshments and doughnuts, and sat me down right away. He asked what sort of cut I was going for and after showing him a photo he knew exactly what to do. Cody took the kind of care that only a trained barber can, and was personable the entire time. He was able to provide personalized insight into ways the haircut could be improved, and finished everything with a very smooth straight razor finish on the back. The best haircut I've had in years, and at a similar price to what I was paying to get my hair mutilated at my previous haircut place. I will absolutely continue to come back here for all of my future haircuts. Thank you Cody, and thank you to the entire shop. This place is such a great addition to the PL/OB neighborhood. The owner, Alex, is a local and pillar in the community; he's created such a rad vibe with a stellar team. Bubba's has become my go to spot for a cut and special time with my son. All of the barbers are skilled at their trade and take time to get each cut right. Wonderful barbershop. Went in on 9/18/19. Was greeted by very friendly staff and was offered a selection of beer and drinks while I waited. The prices are very fair and the shop is well kept and clean. Got a straight razor shave of my head from Tony who was very patient and took his time with the shave. I came in a half hour before closing time and they stayed open while my shave was being completed. Very happy with the results and I will definitely be coming here again.
