New to San Diego and in desperate need of a cut, Yelp presented Flagship Barbershop to me. They had appointments available for the same day and prices were not crazy expensive. Made my appointment easily through their website, all I had to do was make an account and that was pretty seamless. One thing to note is that the business heavily leans into paying with cash, they do offer card payments but add on an extra $5 transaction fee. I have no problem going to my closest ATM and pulling out cash to avoid that fee. I always get nervous going to a new barber and trying to communicate what kind of cut I am looking for, Kyle was very attentive and understanding and gave me a great cut and got me ready to start my new job. The rest of the barbers also seemed nice and easygoing. They also offer drinks for you while you wait or during your cut, they even have a beer on tap. Was on dog duty for the day so decided to go get a haircut, I hit up Alex made an appointment and he said to even bring the dog in. We got there 10 minutes early and were offered drinks I had a water my dog had a brewski. Alex got to work using his soft hands cut a little here shaved a little there next thing you know I was all done. Went to grab my dog and he didn't even recognize me any more. Took my 14 year old son here for a cut. Nick was the barber who cut his hair and he did a great job. There are 6 chairs in the shop and 4 guys were working when we showed up on a Tuesday for our 4p appointment. I had looked them up online and the prices were listed as 35 cash/40 card but when we got in, they said the prices just went up yesterday. The new pricing is 40 cash/45 Card. I feel like they should've honored the pricing that led us there, but I wasn't going to argue over 5 bucks, especially when they offered me a free drink. Overall we were happy with the experience. Would've been 5 stars but -1 star for not honoring the original price. read more

It's like seeing a band that hasn't blown up yet, or dating the hot chick that doesn't know she's hot. But eventually all things good things must come to an end, and Joe is very deserving of it. This is a new place that just opened up. I moved down from Oceanside to be closer to Miramar and have been struggling to find a legit barber that knows their stuff and just doesn't try to fake it. I have tried multiple barbers over the past 6 months and each one had issues and couldn't wait for my hair to grow out to cover up the crap they called a military fade. I booked an appointment online which was easy and since it's the thing to do down here because most shops unlike Oceanside doesn't like walk-ins. Once I walked in the door, Joe welcomed me in and offered a cold drink while I waited for my appointment that I showed up early to. The atmosphere was great, chill, and welcoming. Joe kept me updated when it was my turn, I sat down in the chair and he said welcome home after he shook my hand to greet me. His attention to detail was great and knew exactly what I was asking for. A huge relief as other barbers in the area tried to fake the funk or cut it to how they wanted to cut it. The conversations were constant and wasn't rushed to do anything. This was my first time going to Flagship. I saw that it had recently opened after COVID, and was able to get an appointment in a very reasonable amount of time given everything going on. Place was super clean when I arrived, and you could tell that they are taking the appropriate safety/cleanliness steps. My barber Rodney was ready and waiting for me also which was great. I had not had a haircut in about 6 months and I left with a really fresh low skin fade. Rodney did a great job and I am very happy with my cut and it was a great price.
