I really don't like leaving reviews like this, but this was a serious problem. I ordered my go to extra steak burrito. I cut it open to see if the portions were better. Surprisingly not bad. Honestly, I came in with low expectations as most Mexican fast food casual takeout restaurants don't compare well to the big chains (e.g. Chipotle, Qdoba, Moe's), not to say that all of the big chains are great, but most of the smaller chains tend to just be pedestrian to mediocre. Not Bubbakoo's! With locations all over the country and in many states, I guess Bubbakoo's is not that small of a restaurant chain, but, name-recognition wise, it's nowhere near Chipotle's, but DEFINITELY should be up there. We ordered a Burritodilla with Hibachi Steak and a Bowl with Hibachi Shrimp and, to our surprise, it was freaking good! The Burritodilla and Bowl had good flavor to them and a fair amount of the main ingredients. Typically, when you order Shrimp anything, a restaurant will give 4-6 shrimp, not Bubbakoos. There were at least 10 shrimps inside the Bowl. As for the Burritodilla, it was huge. It was so big, it had to be cut into 2 large pieces in order for it to fit in the container. It was like a souped up Quesadilla. Typically, my go to Mexican fast food casual chain restaurant is Chipotle, but Bubbakoo's really surprised us with its fresh-tasting ingredients and flavors. We will definitely be back again when that Mexican fast food craving hits! read more

I don't think bukkaboos is for me. Tried it twice and the flavors are kinda all over the place and meh. I like that they serve crispy chicken here, but this time I got the hibachi steak and shrimp. Overall it didn't taste much like hibachi and the burrito itself was lacking any flavor. Plus the sauce choices are all over the place... ranch? Bbq? General tso?? A lot of rice in there and didn't feel like much veg or protein for $17+... My wife got the hibachi steak and shrimp burritodilla and same case here.. lacking flavor and just stuffed with rice. Had the Papi Hibachi burrito for $16.69 and it was just okay, and once I got like halfway into it I was just over it (wasn't hibachi at all, just heating up pre-made shrimp and pre-made steak on the grill). Got a side of chips and 4oz queso for $5.69, and the chips were extremely stale and old. Queso was decent. But not worth almost $6. Overall definitely not worth the price. read more

This will be my first and last time ordering from bubbakoo. I ordered two family meals kits supposedly good for six people. Problems: 1. Soft tortillas provided were moldy so the family could not even enjoy tacos. See pictures attached. 2. We didn't end up eating the food after seeing the moldy tortillas but looking at the the amount of food provided it would barely feed 6 people. Maybe 4? At 60 dollars a kit, it is pretty crazy 3. I spoke to the manager and they apologized and said they would refund. However, I never received any refunds. Seems like I down $120 and just getting the run around. They opened this spot just a few blocks from my house and they offered the buffalo cauliflower which I have wanted for a while but don't see on many menus. The place is super clean and staff is very nice. I saw they have ghost pepper sauce and asked if it's possible for a sample which they gave me to try with a chip. It actually is not nearly as hot as it's supposed to be, tolerable but not overwhelming. Along with the cauliflower I also got an order of the mango habanero wings. Even though the cauliflower was fried when I ordered it, it turned out to be quite soggy. First visit. Manager and staff were very helpful in walking us through the family pack dinner. Had us try samples of their sauces, fully described the options available and pulled it all together fairly quickly! The food was very fresh, a mix of build-your-own family pack beef and chicken tacos - we got soft and hard shells, pico, guac, cheese, corn salsa - you name it. Better than chipotle! I work nearby and have been eyeing this spot for a while. Finally decided to grab some pickup for lunch today. I placed the order on uber eats and it was ready in about 15 minutes. I was kindly informed by the cashier that I should download the Bubbakoo's app to place future orders and to get rewards. She also told me that uber was up-charging me for my order, which I wasn't aware of! It was very nice that she told me that. I ordered the make your own quesadilla. There's were plenty of options for sauces and toppings which I really enjoyed. Most places don't give you such choices for quesadillas! I got the Quesadilla with crispy chicken, sriracha ranch, pinto beans, pepper and onion, sour cream. It was delicious! The Sriracha ranch was pretty mild so I added some Tabasco which they had out on the counter. My only downside was that there were no Coke products, only Pepsi fountain and bottles. I'm a Coke Zero snob so this bothered me haha. Overall, great food and service. This place will become a regular lunch spot for me. The food is flavorless, not packaged properly and pricey. I ordered a chicken quesadilla, and it was a mess. Nothing was sticking together, and it tasted very bland. The chips were very salty, to the point where it seems like the cook accidentally dumped too much salt on the chips? I have no idea. My cousin had the beef tacos, and they also were unseasoned. The fried Oreos were the only good thing about this meal, but everything was soggy. The packaging needs ventilation. This popped my cherry, first time every inside a bubbakoos! Seems pretty standard for a make your own burrito spot, they have some interesting flavors and sauces you don't always see at a burrito spot. I know they just opened this week, but they got a lot of work to do, it was an unorganized, chaotic mess. There was no flow in the kitchen, everyone running around bumping into each other, these spots should run like an assembly line, but I am sure they will figure it out. I got a burrito with mango habanero chicken, and added their queso on top. Gotta say the burrito was pretty solid, good heat from the sauce, slightly sweet, and the queso stands up to all the others in the marketplace! I will def be back to try the chiwawa! read more

Got takeout. The rice is sticky and paying two bucks for such a small amount of guacamole doesn't make sense. Flavor is okay (hard to mess up Mexican) but mostly salt. Today's experience was a "first and last time" sorta deal. I will never come here again. -The ingredients were old and dried out. The shredded lettuce was more brown than green. -So much sauce was added to the burrito, the whole thing was sopping wet... she literally squeezed a quarter cup of liquid out of it when she was wrapping it up. -Normally you wrap the burrito horizontally, but somehow it was wrapped vertically so half the burrito was bland rice/beans, and the other half was sopping wet with the meat and salsa. I ended up having to dump both halves into a bowl to mix it up. -The girl making the burrito was wearing a chunky bracelet that kept touching the food as she was prepping it. I was very pleasantly surprised by how good this was. It's fast Tex mex similar to chipotle but actually better in my opinion. I appreciate the multiple vegetarian options - beans, veggie patty, fried cauliflower. The fried cauliflower was SO good! Perfectly crispy and the mango habanero sauce on top was delicious. The house salsa was a little on the spicy side, which I wish was noted in the menu because I had that on my tacos as well and I would have enjoyed it more if it wasn't as spicy. I hesitate to give this poor of a review, but after mulling over the facts, it has to be done. They don't seem to have a very good system. I put in my order and was waiting for some time, which was fine. It let me fully observe how my order was getting prepared. The person who took my order was nice, but kept getting distracted. The serving station, where they were pulling components from was messy, as well as the counter on which they were preparing my burrito. I saw one employee wipe some cheese from the counter to the floor with his gloved hand. Multiple employees were touching different canisters, refilling cheese, etc... and coming back to fill orders without changing gloves. While the person filling my order was working on our order, he was interrupted multiple times for silly questions by those working with him. They wanted to ask if certain orders were filled. Seemed pretty obvious they had just come in and they were not filled. He had to tell them he was working on our order more than once, which I also saw as obvious. It's not like he was building a burrito for himself. The flavors are literally just sauce on top of the meat you pick, and nothing amazing.
