I'm really confused why so many people rave about this place. It was grossly overpriced. Food quality was poor and overcooked. For example, another restaurant, in Houston no less, offered a house made tortellini dish with TRUFFLES for $32. Maybe I should've considered my options a bit more but the reviews and recommendations set high expectations. The ambience / vibe felt poorly executed. Seems like they use the side room for storage. During our visit the door was left open, and it was obvious employees were going in and out to watch the basketball game. The one positive was the drinks. read more

We went out for dinner. We couldn't decide, so based on photos and reviews, we came here! We were greeted as soon as we walked in. We were asked if we had a reservation (which we didn't), so the hostess said she'd check if we could be seated. Funny enough, once we were, there were only 3 tables taken. I ordered the stea, which was great. The cocktails were good, too. Our server and the bartender were friendly. At the end, we ordered the orange cake for dessert. We expected small bites, but we got a whole cake, lol. Overall, great experience. It seems to be a hidden gem. So glad we don't miss this hidden gem. It's in the back of a bathhouse, Hotel Hale, on Bathhouse Row. We went for brunch (available Saturday and Sunday only.) It's a cozy dining room with a small bar (seats about 4.) Not a huge place so reservations are recommended. Staff were super friendly. I didn't feel out of place in my sweatshirt and jeans but will probably wear something other than a sweatshirt for dinner. It was super cold outside. When you walk into the bathhouse, you can't see the restaurant. Someone at the front desk takes you back to it. The gentleman that took us back was very welcoming. He walked us to our table and gave us information about the menu. If you walk into and no one is at the desk, it's because it takes a moment for them to walk guests back. Be patient. We both had the Vintage Breakfast and it was cooked perfectly. My husband had the Morningrita wish was really good. I had their Classic Bloody Mary. Their mix is made in-house and is great. Oh and they have a Mimosa Flight!!! It's a bottle of champagne and your choice of 3 different juices. We tried mango, pineapple, and strawberry kiwi. All were spectacular. One of my companions could not eat theirs and the other literally dipped their food in water to 'rinse' the salt off. My tuna was so tough it was hard to cut with a knife. The service was slow and they never brought us any rolls until after they served us dinner and we physically got up from our table to ask for them. A charming hidden gem! Located in the same place the first bath house was, Eden provides a quiet, charming atmosphere. The Eden salad was one of the freshest salads I've enjoyed and I eat a lot of salads! I recommend the sweet potatoes as well as they will melt in your mouth and you likely won't need a desert after that delicious side! I also enjoyed the ahi tuna which was good. The filet tenderloin was juicy and cooked as ordered. We also had a baked potato and the potato cake and both were very good. This is the best restaurant of the trip so far. My friends and I dined here recently and the experience was uneven to say the least. We started with drinks and that was fine. My friend ordered a Caesar salad and a side of garlic mashed potatoes. The garlic in the potatoes tasted raw, the potatoes were watery and underseasoned. When my friend asked for a substitute for her disappointing mashed potatoes, the waiter looked appalled, grabbed the plate and flounced off to the kitchen. He was visibly annoyed for most of the rest of our dinner. I ordered the $60 filet w/sherry lobster sauce and scallops. The scallops were good. But there was only enough sauce to cover them but not the steak. The steak itself was completely unseasoned. No butter, no salt, no pepper. It was a quality piece of meat but treated so poorly. The potatoes that came with my meal were spiral cut and roasted but were undercooked in the middle and had no seasoning at all. Very disappointing especially at that price point. read more

Located inside an old bathhouse turned hotel, this quaint restaurant offered exactly what I wanted! Elevated casual dining experience. The ambience with the plant wall and glass ceiling allowed wonderful natural light to flow in. With chilled mineral water from the springs, bread service (delicious) with table set with room temperate butter and prompt service. I came just before dinner, a less time with only a few other guests coming and going as I dined. Nice to see some mocktails on the beverage menu, I enjoyed the mango mule and it was delicious! I got the vegan mushroom "wings" with the sauces on the side, the ranch tasted a bit to delicious to be vegan, they did say it was house made but I didn't ask about the ingredients. The mushrooms were deliciously crispy and flavorful. The strawberry salad perfect, champagne vinaigrette meshed perfectly with the flavors. I got the gooey butter cake togo and that was unfortunately way too sweet for me. A bite or 2 was all I could palatable enjoy, and it is a large dessert, menu says for 2 but I could easily see 4 people sharing this dessert with no complaints! DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! This restaurant advertises as an upscale establishment however, it's not. The decor is dated and seems thrown together. They have signage for Dippin Dots in the front lobby, at an "upscale restaurant". Go to The Porterhouse instead, where your money will be well spent! Upon arrival we were promptly seated at 6:45, our reservation time. The bartender greeted us at our table and brought the water that each table receives. My husband ordered an old fashion and said it was good. We ordered an appetizer and our food at the same time. 20 minutes after we ordered, our appetizer arrived. We finish it and our plate is taken away. By this time it's roughly 7:20 or 7:30. Keep in mind we ordered our appetizer and meal right at 7:00. At 7:50 our food arrives. My husband ordered the surf and turf, steak cooked medium. He cuts into his steak and it's grey, well done. We notify the one and only server within minutes. The server requested a new steak be cooked, this was another 30 minutes. Therefore I was completely finished with my meal and my husband hadn't even started eating yet. So to sum it all up, we were at the restaurant from start to finish 2 hours, my husband's 2nd steak was still over cooked, my ahi tuna was okay, the sweet potatoes weren't seasoned at all not even salted, and the chocolate cake was dry. After tip our check was $187 and not worth it whatsoever. To add they had ONE server working a dining room that could seat roughly 50 people or more. There was also a bartender she waited on us at our table, she was very sweet however not attentive. read more

Had a wonderful brunch 10/1/23 taking a spur of the moment decision while walking along bath house row in Hot Springs, AR! Saw the oldest bath house building which is now the boutique luxury hotel, "Hotel Hale" (1892) and saw they were serving brunch, but I had no reservations, nor was I currently using the hotel, but on a lark thought I would ask for a spot to have a meal! The maitre'd was so ever polite and informed me he would check to see. He returned and said yes a spot was available! I was brought to their cozy courtyard with a living wall and had full view of their dining area. People busy chatting away, enjoying their mimosas and the ambiance of the room. A water pitcher and drinking glass were immediately available and handy after walking along bath house row with temps in the high 80's! The waiter was good and assisted me with my meal selection - the special that they called a Greek-inspired breakfast for basically the same price of the other menu options was just what fit the bill after a long walk. The gyro meat and potatoes were excellent with the fried egg on top. Seasonings and all that you find in a gyro pita including feta cheese provided for a different but very tasty breakfast. The portion was huge and could easily be split 3 ways except for the egg. All in all I had a wonderful meal that satiated my hunger but also provided for 3 meals following. For ambiance 5 stars, for tasty food 5 stars and 4.9 for wait service as I had to ask for coffee to be refilled. All in all a great meal that is very generously portioned. read more

I'm venturing a high rating based on a very small sampling of the menu because our overall experience at Eden was so good. We came for drinks and appetizers at the end of a long day of eating and drinking (full disclosure I was a bit hung over) and were warmly welcomed to Eden by the owner, who also happens to be the mayor of Hot Springs, Pat McCabe. Eden is located in the back space of the bottom floor of Hotel Hale, located on the Central Ave., strip in a converted bath house. The atmosphere has a modernized, industrial up-scale style that incorporated natural light from a large, frosty window in the ceiling and a living wall on the back of the room with brick and the ubiquitous white hex tiles found throughout the original buildings in this town. I drank ice water, but she ordered a Cucumber Cilantro Margarita and a Peach Jalapeno Martini, both of which were refreshing, well, balanced, and tasty. We split a beer cheese soup with cauliflower that was hot and hearty. Beer cheese was consistently good in Hot Springs, I should mention. But, Eden recipe stood out. We felt relaxed to take our time. Service was just the right cadence. The mayor took a meal near us and we had some conversation with him about the restaurant, the hotel, and its history. Made a dinner reservation with 5 people for my birthday and we were greeted and seated on time. We were here during the eclipse so there was a limited menu which was disappointing as that was not posted online. Drinks were ordered but incorrect. Bartender/waitress did not know that a tequila sunrise was on those limited menu and just brought strait tequila shots. Someone in our party ordered a salad with additional salmon on top and it came out well before any other entrees. Finally the rest of the food came. We did enjoy the Anaheim chicken very much! The bill came and that's when it was a bit of a disaster. They charged us for the incorrect drink they made, there was a split charge added for 2 people who shared the entree (the excuse from the owner was that it is noted on the regular menu about a split charge but they forgot for the eclipse week menu), and they charged $14 for salmon to be added to the salad rather then $6 because we got the grilled salmon not the smoke salmon. But there is not 2 separate salmons anywhere on the eclipse menu! Once talking to the waitress and the manager it was figured out but took at least 15 minutes. In summary, Food was good but overall this place was not worth the hype. The "garden" is just a small wall with some plants and a dirty skylight. Better views are outside. Mostly bothered by the fact that the staff was not familiar with the eclipse menu and overall unorganized. read more

All the food was amazing and the service was outstanding. It is a bit on the pricy side, but you definitely get your moneys worth so don't let that stop you. We loved our time at the Eden. You need to try the eggplant cheese fries. Eggplant Parmesan in finger food! Crispy, light and delicious, and so fun to eat. The beef and mushroom soup is soooo good. Deep, rich and hearty, a lux soup. Everyone at the table, loved their meal. The waiter was fast, and knowledgeable. The chef, came to visit our table, was charming and you could took great pride in his, and his staff and their creations. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting. We will be back. read more

By far one of the best restaurants I have even eaten. I had the salmon with roasted red potatoes, sweet potato, braised Brussel sprout. The salmon was glazed with spicy honey, i could eat that glaze every day. I had a hibiscus sparkling non alcoholic drink rimmed with sugar. It was fabulous. I can not speak highly of this restaurant. You know those places that you're so excited to go and looked forward to experiencing and it completely bombs?! Oh we experienced alright... As soon as we arrived all the red flags were going off. Eden is inside the Hotel Hale Bath House & Spa. Quite actually in a unique and historic spot and has the potential to be really great. However...service is absolutely awful. There were 3 tables in the entire place and were obnoxiously rushed to order. Waited 15 minutes for our cocktail drinks. Ambiance is loud rock music that is set on a radio station so every 3 songs you hear commercials. We got sat at 7:40 and we finally got our "dinner" at 8:35. The food just terrible and felt like something you could make in a hotel room with a toaster oven. (See the photos). Spent $115 plus (poor tip) for 2 adults and 2 kids ages 8 & 10 and we left hungry. Waiter couldn't or wouldn't, I should say, come check on us. Even though he only had only one other 2- top table. I constantly had to keep cleaning off our table. Had to keep asking people around us for side of dressing, napkins, water, a drink? Just overall major disappointment. Again so much potential but I wouldn't risk going here and dropping a ton of money for sub par food and terrible service. Cool plants on the walk or not. Instead: Head on over to the Colorado Grill or the SQZBox! Are at both places and enjoyed hot food and great service at both those places. Couldn't even finish our food is was so bad.
