Took our curly-haired daughter for a haircut with Kristina, and unfortunately it did not turn out well. The haircut felt extremely rushed -- the appointment lasted maybe 10 minutes -- and the final result was very uneven. From the front, one side was noticeably longer than the other. From the back, the cut looked choppy and poorly blended, almost like an uneven U-shape. I would have given 1 star based on this experience alone, but Karen has cut my son's hair (fine straight hair) in the past and did a good job, which is why I'm giving a slightly higher rating. I normally don't have any qualms with kid haircut places and feedback is always for client service improvement. I couldn't attend my son's haircut appointment and wanted to make sure she kept it long at the top and short around the sides so I asked my mom to do so. My mom told me her input was immediately shut down by Karen the hairdresser who proceeded to say she had been doing this for over 10 years and knows what needs to be done without even hearing my mom out. My son has been waking up in the mornings and us, early to complain his hair sticks up and he's upset by it. Yes at 4 and he has no developmental disabilities. He came home and I didn't like the haircut as it was opposite of what I had tried to ask my mom to convey if she hadn't been shut down. She just didn't want to fight a hairdresser on this but maybe moving forward, please listen your clients out. Karen, I'm sure you're great at what you do, however this is more an issue of client relationship and the quality of services not your skills, and that can always be improved on. Came here for my son's first haircut and it went as expected! Hahaha he definitely cried bc he was scared but that was at no fault to the employees and staff here. The salon is incredibly cute and inviting! Each little station is specific and adorable! It's the perfect place to take photos for your little one's first cut! They also have tvs to distract your LO too. I thought the staff were all very kind and attentive. You can also do a package for the first cut which is $45 for the cut, a little certificate, a photo, and a lock of hair. Parking is pretty easy around the area with metered parking right out front or free parking in the designated public lots. Def will come back for future cuts! read more

I asked for just a cut in the back and to leave the front because we like it. Wanda decided to use clippers because it was his first cut and said it was easier for her then she would do the front with scissors. So glad she had an easy time because within two seconds she cut the front with the clippers. She then said "I can fix" yah... she then said she doesn't have glue. My son's first haircut looks like dumb and dumber I can't even look at him and his birthday party is in two weeks. She kept saying "you're my best customer" to my baby. --you won't get what you request --unfriendly staff --makes you feel like an inconvenience --unsatisfied with haircut i have now brought my toddler here twice and both experiences were different. the first time karen was quick and did an amazing job with my son's first professional haircut. he was 16 months old and very squirmy but she was understanding although not exceptionally friendly, but professional enough. since we liked karen's work, i specifically booked an appointment with her. when i arrived with my now 19 month old son, the door was closed and we could see people inside. karen and another stylist saw us but didn't acknowledge us. once we went in, there was no formal greeting instead we were just told to pick a seat. honestly felt like we were inconveniencing them by being there. even my 19 month old knows how to say "hi" to people and acknowledge them. we see karen and thought she was getting ready to come cut my son's hair, but instead she speaks to the other stylist prepping for the cut. i ask karen if she is going to cut my son's hair, and she just shrugs it off and has the other stylist start. my son desperately needed a haircut with the holidays coming up so i didn't fight it. unfortunately the other stylist did not do a good job at all. i asked her to leave the top of my son's hair long, but she chopped it all off and gave him the weirdest bangs. for $30 + tip it is not worth it! i'm willing to pay if the work is great. read more

I have taken my 3-year-old son here for his haircuts and have never had a bad experience. The first time we took him he was around 2 and a half and since it was his first haircut they did it complimentarily, they made a nice little board, and they put his first haircut in a bag and a little certificate/plaque. We have been serviced by Wanda who has been great for my son and has had zero issues with how his hair has turned out. She is very patient with him and takes her time when it comes to cutting his hair. I would 100 percent recommend this place to everyone I know who has kids and wants to get a haircut. The very first time when he was 1, he was very hesitant and scared, but the stylist has always been very patient and soft-spoken with him. Many kids hair salons in Pasadena require weeks of advance reservation, so it's nearly impossible. For Bubble Cuts, I called at 10am when they opened and was able to get an appointment for 12p that same day. Super accommodating! Priced a little higher than other places, $35 for a scissor cut, I prefer coming here because of the fun interior decor and it's very kid-friendly. They also offer a first-time haircut package where you keep a piece of their hair and they take a picture and frame it. A really cute touch :) they also sell some products, like kids shampoo and brushes. Parking in the area is alright. There's street parking with meters if you're lucky, and paid lots all around. I hate to do this. I usually go to the eagle rock location but today decided to go here. Everything was fine. I came home & noticed my daughters hair was uneven. I called & they said come in to fix it. So i go & I was then told i didn't communicate correctly with what i wanted. She said she fixed it & in the shop it looked like she really did.
