He is on the spectrum and has always struggled with haircuts--we tried several places in different areas, but each experience was challenging and stressful for him. Stella completely changed that for us. She has such amazing qualities--she's kind, gentle, and incredibly patient with children. She took the time to understand his needs and made him feel comfortable right away. Her calm and caring approach has made all the difference. Now, thanks to Stella, haircuts are no longer an issue for our son. What once felt overwhelming has become a smooth and positive experience. She always takes her time and truly cares about making sure both the child and the parents are happy with the result. I've always considered this place a last resort for my son's haircuts because I never felt they did a good job making children feel comfortable. Most of our visits have felt somewhat awkward, and the staff has often come across as dry toward both me and my child. Unfortunately, our most recent visit will definitely be our last. The stylist was very rough with my son while cutting his hair, and he was clearly trying hard to hold it together. At one point, she leaned over and made fun of him, asking if he was going to cry. I didn't fully register it at the time because I was also trying to give attention to my other child, but as soon as we got in the car, my son confirmed it without me even asking. I was extremely upset and called the front desk, but I was basically brushed off. That response alone confirmed that we won't be returning. read more

We got my son's first hair cut here with Stella she was so sweet and patient. However when we went back for his second hair cut she was so rude and gave him a horrible cut. I was honestly shocked, she practically kicked my son off the seat when she finished. Im not sure if she was having a bad morning (we were her first appointment) but from the moment she walked in it didnt feel like the first time. I asked her if we can do it shorter than his first cut because his hair grew fast and he has thick hair and she said ok. However when she was about to finish I notice it was still longer so I asked her if she can please make it short on the sides and she was immediately irratated and left it so bad. I had to take him to another barber to try and fix his hair but it was so messed up we had to cut it all off, which was heartbreaking. Sad to say we wont be visiting this place again ,it had potential but our experience the second time around was just horrible. read more

This review is solely based on our visit with Stella! We have seen the reviews and how people were happy with her, so we decided to visit her and trusted our toddlers' haircuts with her. It was our inexperience visit since it was our first time giving our sons a hair cut . She was approachable and did a fairly decent job or at least that's we tought. We were so happy with her work, considering that our sons were calm with her and didn't cry so we decided to go to Stella again based on our first experience and this is where it was when we realized not only she is a bad hair dresser but also very rude as a person. We felt like she was the customer and we were the service provider and she was doing us a favor. She cut the first son's hair and quickly rushed to do the other one without cleaning the first one or removing the hair from him. When she was done with cutting the second sons hair, I asked a question on whether the length of the bangs were normal or was it supposed to look crooked, she got so upset that she butchered his hair and then quickly jumped to butcher the first ones hair too. After she was done with that, she handed me the brush so I can clean my sons and clean the hair from everywhere she rushed us to remove the boys from the chair and mentioned that she is not liking the hair cut, Now we have two toddlers with butchered hair and we paid $90 for this terrible service. This was my son's very first haircut, and Annita did an amazing job. She was so kind and patient, making him feel comfortable the entire time. There are not enough good things I could possibly say about Little Munchkins. I usually go to the Glendale location and they are just absolutely amazing. The place is super clean (including restroom). The appointments actually mean something here. They all start on time. You might wait a minute or two for them to clean the area, which they do thoroughly so that no one gets disgusted of the previous person's hair. My all time favorite is Maryam. She is sooooo good! Hair cut was fine and the place is cute, but if you're going to work with Children, the FIRST thing you should do is look at a child say hello. Make sure he's comfortable with you before you put him in a chair and start cutting his hair. My baby was crying and really did not like the woman cutting his hair. He doesn't care about screens or sitting in a car chair, he does want to be acknowledged and said hello to. A review long overdue! I started taking my son here when he was 4 years old... and we literally in one day tried 3 different kid salons.. all of which my little one, who is very high functioning ASD (now you would never now). Immediately he felt safe here. I was absolutely on pins and needles, terrified for that ASD meltdown (if you know.. you know). But there was none. Not only do they check to make sure they truly understand what you want (and your child) but they are so gentle! We always have been lucky to have Stella, but oh my they are all so sweet and gentle and kind. I cannot rave enough about this salon for my son.
