I happened on this salon over 3 years ago and it was the best happy accident. Sam is so professional and caring to each client that walks in the door. I always feel so comfortable that I basically doze off during my appointment. The environment is so relaxing. Sam always knows what to do with my hair that I don't need to give any instruction and does not push for any additional services. I am sadden that I have moved away from the area and it may be some time before I can return. I really trust no one else with my hair. I came in with very long hair that had no shape with odd layers, I asked for a butterfly cut with long layers.He gave me exactly that but he cut it in a way that brought my hair back to life. Sam is an awesome hairdresser. He's funny, he is charming, and makes you feel welcomed. My mom referred me to him. She usually gets her hair cut by him and I had seen what a great job he did on her hair so I decided to give him a try. My hair was very uneven from my last cut. I made an appointment 3 days before the day I needed a haircut. So when the day came, I walked in a bit early and was greeted very kindly. A lovely lady washed my hair and brushed it out. She prepared my hair for Sam to cut it basically. Sam was very careful and was asking me throughout the process how short I wanted my hair, if I wanted layers in the front and/or back, if I wanted to keep the length, etc. But besides that he was very engaging in having interesting conversations and being funny. When he was finished with the cut, he put some products in my hair and began to blow dry it. His technique is very simple yet very unique. He used only brush heads instead of rollers to keep the curls in place. I thought that was very nice and different from what everyone else is doing. Overall I was very impressed and very satisfied with the whole process - from the moment I walked in to the moment I left with flawless hair. I highly recommend Sam! read more

I always request Ninnette She does a tremendously outstanding job. Always makes my eyebrows even, fixes any problems I have with them. Always makes sure if I like them. I am always honest with her & she always attempts to give me what I want. I have particularly sensitive skin but never leave scabbed (to the comment the other yelpers wrote) she must not be normally sensitive? For hair Sam is an angel He is the best hair artist there is. This place is pricey yes $20 for tweezing with threading- eyebrows & upper lip included. Hair prices vary due to your length of hair & service you request but if you want to look fabulous & like a star come here for the full treatment! I recently went here to get my eyebrows threaded as they were outta control (my eyebrows had slowly morphed into one)! The girl who worked on my brows was nice, but she left me with completely scabbed! On top of that, she didn't even even out my brows. I was going out with friends that night, and wanted to look my best - instead I spent the night explaining to people why I had scabs all over my eyebrows. The second to last time I went there I had a very similar experience - scabby eyebrows, but at least the girl did a decent job of shaping them. My skin isn't particularly sensitive and I've had my eyebrows threaded elsewhere and didn't come out looking like I had just gotten in a fight with a feral bird. I've only had my eyebrows done here, so I can't comment on any of the other services they do but based on these two visits I won't go again. I can throw $20 at my parakeet and let it go wild on my face if I want scabs and uneven brows. read more

My hair is thick and wavy, oily and dry; it has never been this long with so many split ends. I had gone months saying, "I need to cut my hair," and finally, LivingSocial sent me a deal for somewhere nearby. I walked in and at that hour (10am today), there was only one stylist in view. She smiled and I walked up to the front counter. The place is very clean and modern, sleek lines, almost floor to ceiling mirrors for every station, pop music (which isn't my favorite, but whatever), and BedHead products are prevalent. At the front desk, a man came out and knew about my appt; he asked what I wanted, I said "I don't know. A wash and cut?" Sam is very rigorous in his washing and cutting, which I like. My scalp needs strong hands and my hair likes the pull. I don't know if this is how he usually is, or if he just knew my hair could handle the aggression. I told him I don't ever style my hair on my own. EVER. I don't even blow dry it, but I want all the damage gone, shoulder length, easy to manage... he layered and thinned, blow-dryed, and styled. I think he did a lovely job and I'm waiting to see how my hair will look when it's not styled, but so far, I've gotten beaucoup compliments. ^_^ I wouldn't mind going back for Sam to give me another stylin' look. Sam mentioned they'll soon have a "wig bar," which is exactly what you think it is - try it on before you get it done. I also read a different review that noted computers and wi-fi, but I didn't see any. Maybe they are not visible from where I sat? And the pièce de résistance?! SAM DOESN'T ACCEPT TIPS. First off I want to say I'm extremely picky as to who touches my hair. I had the same stylist for 5yrs & unfortunately he left the country leaving me and my hair to suffer! This depression lasted a while buuuuuuu! I began my research around my area and I had come across Sam Pierre several times during my search and after comparing him & other salons I realized he was the right choice. I get there and i'm greeted by a couple of ladies that were sweet, welcoming and fun. I explained my horror story and they felt my pain. Then Sam joined us and I told him what I liked and didn't like about my hair & he explained to me what I needed and why. I LOVE THAT. Where do I begin?? For starters, I came to Sam Pierre a few months ago for a Brazilian blowout with Sylva and it turned out absolutely amazing. I was so happy with how it turned out, I loved the result. A bit after that I messed up my hair, so I made an appointment for today with Sam for a haircut and with Shake for color. I'm in awe at how beautiful my hair looks. Hands down the best haircut and color I've ever gotten. Sam honestly worked wonders with my hair and completely transformed it. During the process, he also explained to me what needed to be done to obtain results.The staff is incredibly kind and welcoming, and they are honest with you about your hair(which I greatly appreciate). The prices are also great, and the ambience is lovely as well. The salon is in such a cute location with plenty of parking, and I love the clean, hip vibe it gives off. update update! I wanted to get purple highlights because....well i've always wanted to since forever ago. When I first came here, I saw so many girls play with their hair and different colors (and their hair is dark like mine) I got even MORE excited to do it for myself! Long story short, bleaching my black hair to show the purple would have taken FOREVER, PLUS it would have killed my hair. It was suggested that I get extensions. I won't lie, I was hesitant at first, but the thought of non-burnt hair was something I didn't think about. Anyway, I was leaving for Chicago the next day and they ran out of purple....that is....until I got a phone call saying they found ONE pack left!!! Sam knows the business, but more so, he knows people and although I have not had anyone else but himself work on my hair, I hear through others that this is the place to go. Sam will cut to his suggestion or to your liking so some people griping about their cuts, chances are you had an expectation you did not properly communicate. Their amenities are top notch with coffee, internet etc. But that's just the icing. And best of all, the wonderful folks who work there are like family.
