This is a cute boba shop where patrons order via a kiosk, which is extremely useful in customizing orders to sweetness/milk/boba preferences. I only customized the milk in my drink and kept everything else standard. The order came out pretty quickly, and the drinks themselves were well-made, aside from being a little skimpy with the boba. While the cups were cute, we had a bit of trouble trying to wedge them into the cup holders in our car. The plus side is that these cups are pretty sturdy and they stack pretty well, so I'm sure they can withstand transport even outside of a cup holder. Parking can be a little tight, but this is a popular location, and in my opinion, it's worth it. Overall, the boba tea here is good, I might just customize my drink differently next time to obtain that sweet boba to tea ratio that I'm looking for. I will visit again! read more

This is definitely going to be my boba place from now on. I've tried a few spots here in Hillsboro and they just don't compare to bubble n tea. The drinks I've ordered tasted very balanced and nothing is overly sweet. Texture and flavor of boba pearls are great. The menu is not flooded with various items like you'd typically see on other boba places. They keep it simple, and they focus on the quality of what they have to offer. Service was quick, and they are hard working. Price, quality, quantity: 9.5/10 Sadly, boba prices are increasing to the 6-7 and even 8 dollar ranges everywhere. places are now even charging to add boba instead of incorporating it into the price. What I love about bubble and tea is that they don't charge for boba, and I think that for the price you pay for the quality is well worth what you're paying for. I've been coming to Bubble n Tea since they've opened and they have never disappointed. I enjoy my bubble tea with more tea rather than sugar/sweetness and they always hit the spot! The tapioca pearls topping (black toppings in the photo) are always perfectly chewy as well. I can not speak for other toppings available since I have not tried them, but being that most of the toppings don't have to be cooked/boiled like tapioca pearls, I doubt they would be bad. My favorite is the Jasmine milk tea with 25%-30% or 50% sugar with tapioca pearls because it gives me the perfect amount of sweetness ratio to the tea. I believe they have their tapioca pearls soaked honey/brown sugar, but I may be wrong. I have tried the Thai milk tea and Thai smoothie, both are great. The chocolate smoothie legit taste like chocolate milk so great a great option for kids! The classic black tastes like regular black milk tea. And lastly, the jasmine has the hint of floral in the milk tea. They always have special seasonal flavors that always change too! I've tried the strawberry matcha latte out of the seasonal flavors and it was good but not something I'd get again. Don't be hesitant to try new flavors if you have the time and are willing! This location is hidden in a little corner plaza so driving in and out may be iffy on busier days and trying to find parking. They did remodel recently and the place looks great actually. There is no longer a cashier, but 2 self serve kiosks to order. There are still number blocks provided on top of the kiosks that you use in order to get your order once called. Inside is pretty small compared to other bubble tea places around Portland, but I typically see people in and out. read more

The actual drinks (the liquid portion) are wonderful but everything else isn't. I was drawn to the large, unique cups and when we arrived, there was a line extending outside the store. I figured that was a good sign at 5 PM when there are many other boba options available. I'm pretty judgmental with boba and like to try every place at least once, so it was easy to compare the experience. However, despite being intrigued by the wide cups, I understood the usability was worse because it's not as easy to hold (though it's not difficult) and the drinks do not fit in a standard cup holder. First, boba as a topping is one of the most important factors to judge bubble tea holistically. The boba here is chewy and made well, but there is a lack of flavor. These tapioca balls are simply cooked and then placed into your drink - there's no sign of any extra love such as marinating in sugar, brown sugar, honey, or otherwise. However, the tea shone. I got the jasmine milk tea and it tasted very authentic validating the usage of loose tea leaves while remaining creamy through dairy. I think they have a good balance there. It's also worth noting most milk alternatives do not cost extra (i.e. coconut milk) but one does, I forgot which one. That's a good sign. Toppings also don't cost extra so you're simply paying for the drink ($5 for standard drinks or $6 for more "advanced" recipes). Friends got the strawberry jasmine, strawberry matcha, and orange creamsicle(?). The strawberry jasmine was basically strawberry fruit tea as it was overwhelmingly strawberry and no tea. The strawberry matcha had the faintest hint of matcha despite being a green drink so the matcha was not strong at all. However, it didn't taste powdery. Lastly, I forgot the actual name of the orange drink but it was simply whatever. You can adjust the sugar like most places, so nothing wrong there. I specifically requested less ice after confirming they were willing to do so as some spots won't allow you. In the end, a third of my cup was still ice. My friend who didn't adjust their ice levels had a cup half full of ice. The width of the cup allows them to fill up the ice so there's less drink while still appearing to be fair because the ice doesn't rise as high as in a taller, but skinnier cup. I enjoyed my visit to Bubble N Tea. I visited on a weekday afternoon so I had no issues finding a space in the small lot. It was easy to order on the kiosk. I was a little concerned that the drink would be too sweet since the options were 100% or 0% sugar and since I get tea at 25% most of the time but it was not crazy sweet. I was happy with the sweetness of my drink. I liked that the menu had a great variety of drinks and that a lot were caffeine free which could be nice to have when I'm not wanting the caffeine boost. I got the Thai sweet cream. I loves the cream foam on the top and the Thai tea itself was balanced. It was not too strong and I felt that there was the right amount of milk in it. The cup was too fat for my car's cup holder so I put it in a bag in the truck of my car. I'm happy to note that no spill happened or leakage on the way back to Portland. I came here twice during my trip in Oregon. The first time was great, a 5/5. I ordered the strawberry jasmine tea with boba, and it was so refreshing and delicious! I usually prefer milk tea over tea with boba, but I wasn't feeling milk tea that night. The interior felt cozy and the ordering process was fairly quick. Then I decided to go back the next day as my family and I were in the area again, and I wanted something refreshing again. However, the 2nd time wasn't as good as the first. Like other places, it depends on who is making your drink. It tasted overly diluted and definitely didn't taste the same as the night prior. It's been so long since I've visited this place because #1: covid and #2: it's not convenient for me to to drive through the little plaza. Anyways, I got a classic half sweet with a bit of boba. Not a fan of boba but decided to try and see. The texture of the boba was very nice- not too hard but it does have a bit of bouncy texture to it. The classic boba was overly sweet. I asked for 50% sweet and it was still too sweet. I waited for the ice to melt to help dilute it. Another downer was the straw. I had trouble sucking the boba through the straw. It was always stuck and I almost choked on them. Lastly, I guess it cannot be helped but the stamp cards I got from the store no longer works/valid. If you like bobba tea like my family, you know most stuff are made from refined sugar, powders and endless fake flavors. We are avoiding gluten, dairy and refined sugar. Found this place that lets you choose from a screen once you enter the shot. Level of sugar, mercies, kind of milk and more and more. Super simplified process. Took me a minute to understand what I need to do. Buy had to confirm ingredients after ordering. No black tea nor coffee, no caffeine for my kids. We went with roibos tea with almond milk and coconut milk. Bobba pearls are soaked in honey and all ingredients are real. Asked for minimal sugar and hot just that. I read about Bubble N Tea when looking for reviews of where to get bubble tea nearby. I considered getting bubble tea at Best Baguette, but one Yelper said that their bubble tea was meh and that the place across the way, Bubble N Tea, was the best bubble tea in the area. There was a short line when I arrived around noon on a weekday, but I was in and out within 15 minutes. Bubble N Tea prices itself in using only fresh, loose leaf tea; they do not use the powdered stuff. Their menu isn't super extensive, but they do have some unique flavors such as strawberry rose ($6), strawberry matcha ($6), cocoa mint, ($5) honey lavender($6), and vanilla rooibos ($5). They also have shakes for $5 including Thai tea, chocolate, matcha, and coconut. I contemplated getting an original or vanilla milk tea, but I decided to be adventurous and got the strawberry rose milk tea (50% sweetness, light ice, and soy milk) . All drinks are 20 oz and you can adjust the sweetness level, ice level, and type of milk (whole, soy, almond, or coconut) for no additional charge. Toppings are free too and so I got boba in my tea. The strawberry rose milk tea was very good and has just the right amount of rose flavor. I especially loved the fresh strawberries on the bottom. The boba was soft and chewy, but unsweetened and so they mainly just added texture rather than taste. Next time I think I'd skip the boba and just get the strawberry rose milk tea plain. Bubble N Tea limits the number of people in the store at a time and have social distancing markers on the ground leading up to the register. There were two women working at the time, both wearing masks. The inside of the store is updated and modern. They have a small outdoor seating area, but most of their seating is inside. It has a very tangy taste that over powers the drink, but it follows with a matcha-like taste with a hint of rosemary. The Jasmine Milk Tea was pretty decent. The Strawberry Rose Milk Tea was delicious! It had a nice tanginess from the frozen strawberries and a nice floral taste. The boba was decent. The texture was not bad, but it was not very sweet. I recommend going for just the tea if you are picky about your boba texture/sweetness. The staff was really friendly and calm despite the crowd on a Friday night. They have socially distanced markings on the ground for you to wait/stand in line, but they also have an outdoor seating area for you to wait for your drink as well. I have been to several in the suburbs and many I have tried several times in an effort to support local and to figure out what the best item is at each spot. Here it's all good. Customization of sugar is a requirement for me because I don't like the extra sweet ones that often come standard at places that don't offer that specific customization. Smoothies, teas, toppings, all quality, made fresh. There's usually a line if you go on a weekend. On weekdays sometimes you can go at a non-peak time (think outside meal time, and/or during the work day) there won't be a line. So far when I've waited in line, people have been respectful of physical distance and they wear masks so I feel okay waiting outside in line. read more

Definitely a good to warm up imo. I didn't adjust the sugar level and perhaps that was my major mistake because it was way too sweet for my taste -- which means it was atrociously sweet since I tend to like things on the sweeter end of the spectrum. There was a good matcha flavor and the boba itself was good, but gosh the sweetness completely threw me off. The interior is cute, service is friendly, and it's nice that it has parking, but definitely adjust the sugar level or see if you can get things with less sugar if possible. Their matcha is superb as they hand whisk it to order. They have specialty flavors that they occasionally rotate out. This time we got the Ube Mango and the Honey Lavender. The ube flavor was pretty good, some of the best ube in the area. There was not too much of a mango taste though. The lavender tea had just the right amount of floral notes and the honey added the right amount of sweetness. My only qualm about this place are their cups. The sizing is very odd. Instead of a drinkable cup but was more like an ice cream bowl. We got the salted brown sugar milk tea. It was good, but mostly tastes like milk. I'm not sure if there was any tea in it... it was sugar milk! The service was a kiosk, and you take a number. The ambiance of the place is really cool and cozy though. Absolutely delicious milk tea! Stumbled upon this place because we were coming next door for dinner. We got the ube mango (seasonal) and strawberry matcha drinks. I got the grass jelly with the strawberry matcha, and I have never tasted such good grass jelly! The drinks here are fresh and are not made with powder. I love that you can taste all of the ingredients, and they are definitely high quality. The drinks come in wider/shorter containers than the usual boba place.
