The bathrooms are clean and you don't have to wait long even if the line looks long. They now have log he s above the doors that are red if occupied and green if available. A nice addition. I was not prepared. I was never prepared. I've always wondered about the talk surrounding Buc-ee's. People I've come across talked so highly of it. Many of their customers are fans to the point of devotion. I finally was able to experience a 'typical' Buc-ee's visit while en route to Atlanta for Labor Day weekend. My friend, Neal, and I traveled to ATL to once again see our alma mater, Virginia Tech, play football against South Carolina. Once again, we left a Hokie football game disappointed. But we felt the opposite when we left the Florence, SC Buc-ee's. The one thing I always heard about Buc-ee's - they are huge. I just didn't know they were that big. This Buc-ee's location was like an amusement park with gas pumps. There are also charging stations for electric cars, which meant the parking lot alone was massive. We parked at a charging station - it was so far from the front entrance I'd like to say the walk lasted about 3 minutes (at least). There were so many people outside in the parking lot, I thought I was at a tailgate. I couldn't believe it. Once inside, it was like I was back in college. Hundreds of people walking around, shopping, eating, waiting in line. It was a form of organized chaos. I almost couldn't handle it. Neal and I first went to the bathroom. The men's bathroom was enormous and clean (an observation which was also conveyed to me many times). I was just glad that I didn't have to wait - there seemingly is always a stall/urinal available, regardless of when you walk in. That's a great thing, especially when you really gotta go. After that and cleaning up, I took a look at the food section, which obviously was also massive. Buc-ee's offered all kinds of food - brisket, sandwiches, burritos, candy, beef jerky, drinks. You name it, they had it. I bought a chopped brisket sandwich, a breakfast burrito and some Beaver Nuggets. I paid and immediately got the hell out of there, haha. Neal was still inside, so I made my way back so we could check out their merchandise. Buc-ee's offers all kinds of stuff - clothing, gifts, toys, souvenirs. It's easy to get caught up in all that stuff and walk out a couple of hundred bucks lighter. But I fought that temptation and stuck with the food. Anyways, Buc-ee's is one wild experience. I recommend all travelers check them out, because there is just so much going on. At the same time, if you're introverted, or simply not in the mood to deal with copious amounts of people, you might want to skip Buc-ee's. I went here twice on this past trip. Once on Thursday which was very manageable. Easy in and out. And once on Sunday. MADHOUSE. The gas prices were not over the roof (although not great either). The brisket sandwich was no-fail I also tried a pulled pork, but I think I like the sliced brisket just a bit more. I had never had the beaver pellets so I tried those for the first time. They were okay. They kind of reminded me of a sweet kid's cereal. And then of course some warm glazed pecans. Delicious. The Buc'ees branded diet soda is NOT BAD. I love Buc-ees I spent 130$ and that wasn't including gas. It's a huge travel stop plenty of gas pumps always something available. The store is huge for gift shopping and to just buy something to eat the food was great when during breakfast time. They had it ready to go and grab and delicious. We made a detour in the middle of a tropical storm to stop here on our way back home from Hilton Head because Yelp elites don't mess around when it comes to unique and fun food stops. The bathrooms are top tier here. If you can hold it and a Buc-ees is coming up, I highly recommend! Besides the bathrooms, Buc-ees is iconic for their brisket, beef jerky and the ever popular Buc-ee nuggets. Whatever you choose wander around a little and check out all the different snacks and browse the Buc-ee Beaver themed items. If it can be branded they have it! Our sliced brisket sandwich was not very hot this time so they lost a star for that. We also got a cheesesteak burrito. It had an unexpected kick that made me reach for my drink to cool off my mouth a few times while eating. We bought a few other snacks we haven't tried in the past. The spicy Peanut Butter Popcorn is SO spicy we could only stand a few pieces before putting it away for another day. A Buc-ee's in Florence! No way! This area has grown so much since I graduated from Francis Marion 20+ years ago! We were driving through Florence on our way to Myrtle Beach and very happily stumbled on Buc-ee's. If you have never been, it is definitely a must see! Basically, I'd say Buc-ee's is the Mall of America of snack stops/service stations. It is huge with all kinds of great food, snacks, and drinks, many of which are very unique. My favorites are the breakfast sandwiches and beef jerky flavors. They also have latte machines that make quick, delicious coffee drinks if you are looking for something fancier than their black coffee, which is also very good, especially since they have an elaborate cream and sugar station. We were fortunate enough to get a picture with the visiting mascot and free Buc-ee's stickers. Our middle school kids rolled their eyes at our picture, but my wife and I thought it was fun! If you are in the area, or simply traveling through, You must experience the Buc-ee's phenomena. You will not be disappointed! read more

I can't believe I never heard of this place. If you're in the area it's a must. This is the only South Carolina location. It gets really busy on the weekends. While traveling South I came across Buc-ee's. What a cool and amazing place this is! 53,000 sq ft. More than I could handle with my sciatica. The travel center has over 120 Gas Pumps, and Diesel Fuel and E85 are also available. The staff is so very nice. They all seem so happy to work there and love their job. They were so friendly and always smiling. Part of the reason is they're paid very well. Once inside it goes on forever. They sell Drinks, Slushies, Coffee, Tea, Cold Drinks, plus Beer and Wine. Every single brand of Potato Chips, and flavors, all types of Beef, and Turkey Jerky. They have a large selection of Nuts. Chocolate Covered Pecans, Pecans, Almonds, Cashews, Hazelnuts, Peanuts, and Corn Nuts. They also offer Glazed Nuts and Nut Butter. along with a large variety of Snacks. They even have their own Bakery Department with all types of Homemade Cookies, and Handmade Fudge which is made on the premises. The signature snack is Beaver Nuggets, which are described as a caramel-based puff snack. It's named after the founder Beaver Aplin. Buc-ee's is also known for their fresh Chopped Brisket Sandwiches and Pork. They also serve Pulled Pork, BBQ Turkey Sandwiches, and Brisket Burritos. They offer a variety of their meats you can order together on a sandwich. Buc-ee's sells all types of Clothing, from Infant to Adults. Tee-Shirts, Jackets, Gifts and souvenirs. Traveling like I was doing it's a perfect place to stop and take a break. I wound up buying some Ice Teas, Mesquite Peppered Jerky, Cherry Maple Jerkey, and Snacks. Love the many choices of food, snacks, souvenirs and gasoline options. For cars, they offer Regular, MidGrade, Premium and Diesel. The prices were very competitive for the area and one of the advantages is to get some cheap gas and then get a snack or two inside. The place is huge with plenty of parking and easy on/off options. I found a display with freshly made salads and I was surprised to see them. I always thought of Buc-ee's as a place for brisket, jerky, fatty food choices, but the salads were a refreshing find. I love it because there are so many gas stations, the bathrooms are clean and you can grab a snack/ sandwich or drink real fast. What is the thing I love the most? Although, they are not pet friendly inside the building they do have pet stations all around the back! Some grass with poop bags where you can walk your dog if they just need to stretch their legs or relief themselves. This was my second time in SC and we were passing Buc-ees. My cousin told said they had good brisket sandwiches and started explaining the store to me. She also said that it was a gas station that sells everything from gas to grills lol. I said, this sounds like an experience...and it definitely was! I was amazed at how massive it was when we pulled in the parking lot. The salaries for a gas station were very impressive, and then I walked inside to find a mini-mall being run like a well oiled machine! Even the bathrooms had attendants directing traffic. We ended up buying several things for our weekend in SC. I got the Club Melt which was OUT OF THIS WORLD delicious a sliced brisket sandwich, and a small container of chicken salad. It's always a pleasure stopping in at Buc-ees. The only true danger is spending way too much time on a pit stop than planned! The staff is really friendly upon entering. There are a ton of food options. I'm not too fond of the coffee but there are so many other offerings to choose from. Most important to me is the state of the restroom. They're very clean and continuously maintained. There are changing tables and they're actually clean! Changing tables are often forgotten and it makes me feel better knowing they're being maintained. The beaver nuggets are also amazing so don't forget to grab a bag. I recommend stopping every time! read more

This place is the gold standard for highway rest stops. You won't necessarily feel super great about yourself when you leave, but that's kind of the point. It's over the top in every possible way. There are gas pumps for days, brisket around the clock, more drink options than you can possibly process, aisles of processed foods to gorge upon, and something called Beaver Nuggets that you should absolutely try at least once. The hot roasted nuts are also a must. Nay a salad in sight (I can't say I looked that hard) but I did spot healthy pre-cut pineapple and melon. That paired well with brisket city. Inside, there's also a full merch store that's impossible to ignore. I left with Buc-ee's gear, and I'm fine with that. It's like Wawa, but on whole other level. We love Buc-ee's. This location has the best gas prices in the area so we filled up our tank and went inside to grab lunch and some snacks for later. They have tons of cute stuff inside, and they always have items for our dog, however, it's super disappointing that Buc-ee's has a no pet policy. Even more disappointing that I saw two separate people with fake "service dogs" walking around this particular store. Just make the store pet friendly. You will sell a lot more of your dog items. Food was okay today but the brisket sandwich was quite fatty and the reason I'm taking a full star off is because I was super disappointed in their banana pudding. It tasted almost synthetic, the wafers were stale in a very bad way and there were no actual bananas in it. It was a shame and they shouldn't be putting out products like that. Whenever we're near any Buc-we'd, we always make an attempt to stop in for gas as their gas prices are normally the cheapest available and if there's a Costco nearby, they normally match that price. We were beginning a trip to the NE and needed a fill up on the way so this was a great location. Since it was insanely busy as it was around the lunch hour, we decided not to get a brisket sandwich. On our return from the NE, this location lined up perfectly again and this time we stopped by for a brisket sandwich at around 8 PM. You guys have an amazing array of products. I always find myself impressed with the fantastic variety, whether I'm looking for cool new clothes, tasty snacks, or pretty much anything else under the sun. It makes shopping a real treat. I did have a couple of small observations from my recent visits that I thought might be helpful to mention. I've noticed that the men's restrooms while functional don't quite reflect the super clean and tidy vibe of the rest of the store. It's a minor point, but perhaps something worth a little extra attention. Also, I wanted to chat about the women's restrooms. Every single time I've popped in and I've been here three times recently, there's been quite a queue. It seems like they might be a tad on the smaller side for how popular your store is and the line often extends right into the drink and food aisle creating a bit of a bottleneck there. Expanding them or adding a few more stalls could really make a big difference in easing that congestion and making the experience even smoother for everyone. They have so many food options it may make your head spin. The best French fries on the planet come from Buc-ee's. Always have to make a Buc-ee's stop when I can -- it's practically a road trip tradition at this point when there is one en route to my destination. This time, I was in a bit of a rush and grabbed a Buc-ee's Three Meat Sandwich. The trick, as any regular knows, is to reach for one from the back of the warmer to ensure it's the freshest. Unfortunately, even doing that didn't quite save this one. The sandwich was just okay -- it felt like they missed the mark on the amount of BBQ sauce, leaving it a little dry and less flavorful than usual. They also had what seemed to be a new container (or maybe just a different one for this location) for the Buc-ee's Beaver Chips, but they weren't great either. They tasted stale and lacked the usual salty, crunchy goodness I've come to expect. That said, everything else was on point -- the store was spotless, shelves were fully stocked, and the checkout process was quick with every register open. Even when the food doesn't hit like it usually does, Buc-ee's still delivers on convenience, selection, and efficiency.
