This is my first time at Pura Vida Miami and it did not disappoint. I picked up a quick to go "Welcome to Miami" smoothie before the beach. The service was quick as 11 am rush can be with a wait of 10-15 minutes at most. The smoothie was super refreshing and filling, I thought it was a bit tart but it was still good. They maybe had last issue of people spilling or burning but you don't throw away the common sense experience of drinking out of a mug vs coffee fist in a wax lined / plastic cup. The whole experience is lost and the name means Pure Life.. this is like in nyc where all the cvs shelves are locked up because of a few criminals. Instead of dealing with the problem the problem is passed down to everyone. I went to Maman for my second cup because Puta Vida would not refill my glass cup without first putting it into another throwaway cup. The waste. Lovely experience at Pura Vida! The açai bowls were good sizes and very filling. Our drinks were also delicious - we ordered a double espresso & the pacific coast mint tea. You order at the counter & then they bring your drinks/food to you. Each staff member was so kind!! I wish I could remember who took our order because he was amazing. It was our first time, so he answered all of our questions/gave us recommendations. My phone is broken so the pictures don't do it justice! Beautiful decor and ambiance inside. Lots of seating both in and outside. It is a bit on the pricier side, but I would definitely return! I look forward to trying their other menu items or some of their desserts featured in the pastry case (didn't get a pic). It was a challenge to eat as everything was piled high. Our food did not come out together and the person that delivered it was not friendly at all. First fail was the flies flying around in the display showcase. The cashier was arranging the crescents but neglected to remove the flies. I ordered a Tuna sprout sandwich. It was extremely disappointing they put a schmear of tuna a few sprouts & a ton of lettuce and a tomato. If I didn't take it to go I would have returned it to show them. In their defense it did appear they had quite a few to go orders We waited 15 mins for just a sandwich & the gentleman who gave us the order was nice & friendly It was 7:30 @ night & not busy. I took off a star because I asked if I could sub out the mixed greens for arugula because I was craving it and she said she couldn't, which is weird because it's the same cost and type of item, and the sandwiches are supposed to be made fresh and extremely filling. I also got the mango pineapple refresher, which was exactly what I needed on this hot south Florida summer day. We came in with a large group, and our order came out really fast. Staff were also very attentive, checked on us a few times, and cleared our plates when we finished. Pura Vida is exactly the type of restaurant I'd love to come to regularly and try different items-if only it wasn't so expensive. That would be acceptable If the food was good. However, the food ismediocre and overpriced. The restaurant was very busy and very unckean. The place was packed with people sheltering from the rain, and seating was limited. That's when Chris, one of the employees, stepped in and made all the difference. He quickly found two counter seats for us and cleaned them on the spot, then spotted a table opening up and ushered us right over.
