By far one of the best Italian spots on the WestSide. It doesn't look like much since it's in a small strip mall but the food is delicious and always very fresh. I went to Bucci's while it was fairly busy on a Saturday night and I had a great time. The wait staff was very friendly and helped us put together a table, and also gave us extra bread for our take home boxes. I had the Chicken Parmesan which was delicious, it was also quite a large dish so I would consider splitting it with someone next time. I was way too full for dessert after the salad, bread, and entree I had but the chocolate lava cake was indeed tempting me! The plates were also very cute. read more

The food was great. The restaurant was very quaint and homey with decorations everywhere for the holidays. We ordered takeout and they forgot our appetizer, we went back in and they were very kind and apologetic. They added an order of cannolis on the house for the inconvenience (only took an extra 3 mins waiting for our appetizer). Such a good experience. Not to mention the portion sizes are huge. Got it to go, so can't really comment on the service but the person who handled my to go order did it just fine. Was an early Saturday and the small space was packed. We were so fortunate to visit Bucci's earlier this month. Our Granddaughter's high school graduation was in Cleveland & my Son was looking for a restaurant that could seat a party of 15. They said they could accommodate us at 6:00 p.m. that Saturday & had everything ready for us. The service was excellent, we loved our server. We all ordered something different & everyone enjoyed their food! I had Veal Marsala & it was the best I've ever had. My Husband had the Pasta Bolognese & raved about it! The owner came over & talked with us several times. My Granddaughter got her dessert for free! I was there recently and was blown away by the quality of the food and service. It's a very friendly small red-sauce Italian that does everything right, and on-site. I felt like I was back in NY sitting in one of those old-time restaurants that have been serving for decades. The staff was friendly and fast. And the persons very generous. The new owner came out to check on us which was a nice touch. He made us feel like we had been regular customers, though this was our first visit. My girlfriend received a Bucci's gift card so we decided to make use of it this evening. I had been there before, and I seem to recall lackluster gnocchi, but I was hoping for better results this time around. The experience was worse. First, I had forgotten that the place is located in a strip mall on Hilliard in Rocky River, so it almost feels like you're about to step into a Geppetto's walking through the door. This might be forgiven if the food were authentic or otherwise decent, but it is not. My spaghetti tasted like it had come from a cafeteria, and the cheese ravioli came out as grainy. My girlfriend had the pasta primavera, which was tasteless. We both agreed that we could have cooked better pasta at home (which my girlfriend just reminded me is saying a lot, since I never cook). The mediocre meal was not that bad of a deal, though because we had the gift card...until we were told that we couldn't use ours. Our server informed us that she had no way of knowing how much was on the card, so she couldn't take it. I asked to speak with the owner and she gave the same lame excuse. An argument ensued in which the staff kept vacillating between the "we're not a participating restaurant' (despite no apparent mention of this on the web site) and "we would take the card but we don't have the ability to do so". After I continued to protest for some kind of recompense, the staff suggested that I call the number on the back of the card...which did not exist so that they might verify how much was on the card. I think they got the "you want me to do what?" message, and finally one of the servers graciously agreed to make a call to verify the card's amount so that she could run the card. I gave Bucci's 2 stars for having mediocre food and not completely stiffing me on the gift card (even though I had to work in order to get them to accept it at all). read more

Stop at Bucci's because we had eaten here sometime ago. From when we entered the restauran, the receptor ion at the door should have bee an indication of how we were going to be attended. With several open tables, the receptionist told us that they were holding for reservations but as he looked at his clock he acknowledged that the people were well beyond their reservation time. He went to speak to someone and cane back and just told us to take any table but was not happy about this. We sat down and it took a good half hour before anyone came to our table an even offer to bring us some water. When finally a waitress stopped at our table she stated that she had told the other waitress to attend our table. She did attend a table, for a couple that had just walked in...and here we are still with no one stopping at our table, yet for the couple that was seated well after us, they received their drinks and their meal long before someone even decided to ask us if wanted anything to drink. Eventually we were able to order and get our meal, which was not anything to really rave about either. When we had finished it took an extremely long time before we were even able to get our check. In all seriousnes, I even considered fir a moment just to get up and walk out the door, but do to my not wanting to cause a scene, we just patiently waited. This was once a place that I was happy to recommend to people, but that is no longer the case. The environment is not a very welcoming. And I would have to say as a person of color, that there may have been aspects of rascism in our treatment. The rest manager "visited" the table of the couple that was seated after us to apologize for how long it took to get their food out, but she never even acknowledged our presence. They maybe happy to hear this, but we will never set foot in this establishment again, and definitely we are never going to recommend this place as a restaurant to visit. . read more

I love Bucci's! It's such a quaint little restaurant with that real Italian family feel. They have Italian opera playing on the TVs, candles on the tables and a nice wine selection. The service is excellent all the way down to the bussers. I always order the lasagna because it's better than homemade. It's always served sizzling hot. A classic local Italian spot. Great service, food, and prices. Everything I have got from this place is amazing, especially anything with their red sauce. Some of the best that I have ever had. Recently got the homemade cavatelli, which is to die for. All mains come with a choice of soup or salad, and of course you have to opt for the Italian wedding soup. This place doesn't miss. Bland food and exorbitant prices has now ruled Bucci's out for me. My $18 dish of pasta and broccoli was drowned in 1" of an oil water mixture. Bland and disappointing. Bucci's is a great little Italian restaurant- if you know what to order. The mozzarella sticks and fried calamari are always good, as are the chicken parmesan and the linguini with clam sauce. Other than that, it's kind of a toss up. I would check reviews on here to get an idea of the other menu items and if they're good or not. The restaurant itself is very small and can seat around 50 people. It can feel a little cramped at times, and on some nights it's very hard to get a seat. Nothing overwhelming. Bucci's is a great place for takeout, so if you're considering trying it for the first time but don't want to sit in a tiny restaurant, I'd highly recommend ordering out! read more

We decided to go to for a family dinner tonight and wanted to get pizza. After being turned away with an hour wait at the new Mellow Mushroom in Rocky River, we decided to give this Bucci's location a chance and I'm glad we did. I must say, I felt like I was in the Sopranos when I walked in. It's actually a tiny one room restaurant. You are close to everyone, and can see the whole floor which was quite interesting and nice to be honest. With the laughter of the patrons and everyone seeming to be having a good time, it really felt like a great family location. It smelled great when we walked in and we were seated quickly. Every table in the place was taken (although there is only about 15 tables) and there were 2 servers working their butts off. We received complimentary bread with garlic butter which was nice. We had a calamari appetizer that my 3 year old son devoured. The marinara sauce and sweet sauce that accompanied the calamari was wonderful. My son and I split a pepperoni pizza that was AWESOME. My only gripe would be that it could use more cheese but to be honest that did not matter as the crust on this pizza was exactly how I would want my perfect pizza's crust to be. It was almost like a pan thin crust. I would definitely recommend the pizza! My lady ordered the Chicken Parm and it was HUGE. 2 large breast drenched in cheese and sauce with a side of rigatoni marinara. It tasted great and was more than enough for 2 meals. Our server was an older lady who was very sweet. It would have been nice if she would check on refills for drinks a little bit better but I'll admit she was very busy. I will 100% be back mainly to get takeout pizza but I did enjoy my dinner at this establishment and will be back to sit down again as well. read more
