We had a great experience at Stino Da Napoli! We came in on a Saturday night and made a reservation a few hours beforehand and they were able to get us in--definitely would recommend calling ahead to check. There is an outdoor and indoor seating option and an elevated atmosphere. We ordered three different pasta dishes, and I tried a bit of all of them. The portions for the price is pretty good for the quality. I enjoyed the Linguine the most, just wish there was a little more shrimp. The staff is so incredibly friendly, it's a classic Italian family restaurant. Overall really enjoyed the atmosphere and great food for the price, I'd recommend it for sure! read more

It was my first time here. We came for a special date night. The restaurant was small, but we came right after the opened and there was no wait. (They don't take reservations) I was hoping the vibe and atmosphere would be a little cozier and cute, but it kind of gave me hotel vibes. Our waiter was extremely attentive and polite. The arancini were pretty good, but I've had better. My gnocchi and my husbands spicy pasta were excellent! Great portion sizes too. The tiramisu was so good!!! The cream in it was so delicious and different from others I've had. I would definitely recommend this place and go back for a special occasion! read more

Entered the restaurant approximately 10 minutes before our 7 PM reservation. After being approached by two different people, we were still not seated. We could see on the piece of paper at the front desk that our reservation was listed at 7 PM, which was correct. It appears our table was given away to a group that came late for their reservation. An older woman with gray hair that was pulled back said we could wait until the regulars that they had at a table left. They were not sure how long it would be - we could go sit in the bar. There was never an offer to buy us a drink or anything else that was customer service oriented. We decided to leave. While I was looking very forward to the meal I will never go back there again. So glad Stino is back! The line out front confirmed that I'm not the only one that missed this restaurant! We started with cocktails, they still have their nice cocktail list. I had the basil martini instead of my usual Stino's Manhattan. Dinner time! We were so glad to see our favorite waiter Luke has returned. We had the specials. Always great food & service! You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. We have been coming here for years it is one of our favorites.

This restaurant is in a nice shopping complex with convenient parking. The interior decor is clean and modern, attractive and comfortable, with a fine dining feel but casual at the same time. Even the restroom is one of the nicest I've seen in a restaurant. Service was efficient and professional. Ambiance was relaxed and tables were well spaced, though it was hard to converse with noisy diners around us. All of our dishes -- from the cocktails and apps through our entrees and desserts -- were good, especially the calamari app and the gnocchi. However, one small thing that was unacceptable, especially in an Italian restaurant, was that the bread rolls seemed to have been warmed in the microwave, and for too long. At about $30 for most secondi courses, I thought the prices were a bit high for the portions (when tips are also expected). I would still gladly dine there again. 3.5 stars. read more

We ordered takeout and was disappointed, The veal marsala was overpriced at 3 small pieces and the side of pasta was under sauced. The meatballs are small and overpriced, $3, really for each? The chocolate torte is not a torte but bundt cake with rum sauce and chocolate icing for $10, way over overpriced. We have gone there for years but not visited since they re-opened. Some of the best Italian we've ever had. The restaurant is located in a small strip mall in Rocky River and parking can be challenging, but we've never had a problem. Small place but they make up for it with excellent food and service. They have a full bar and a nice wine list. On our many visits we've had the arancini with their pomodoro sauce (to die for), the eggplant parm, the branzino, the gnocchi, the meatballs and their normal side salad, which is just excellent. Say hi to Nathan. He's a doll. We spend a lot of time in Ohio and we have, and will continue, to go out of our way to go to Stino's. By the way, Bassetts market in Lakeside/Marblehead/Catawba sells the pomodoro sauce by the jar. Don't hesitate. Note: they only take cash and they are open Thursday-Saturday. read more

EVERYTHING IS ALWAYS OUTSTANDING! The food is excellent and delicious... and the ingredients are incredibly fresh. The service is exceptional in every way and the ambiance is so lovely. The drinks are thoughtfully made and sooo good. Everyone who works here is very kind, warm and welcoming. Just wish they were open at least 5 days a week. Cash only though! There have been many times I've wanted to go for dinner but was stopped when I recalled that credit cards are not accepted. A little disappointed in the restaurant. First, it is cash only, lucky I had enough on me! The bread was fresh, but they only had frozen butter, would have been a bit better with some olive oil and pepper! I got a tea but noticed on the menu it says only one refill. For $4 I was a little disappointed as the glass was mostly full of ice, so the 8 oz cup was more like 4 ounces. The food was good, just small portions. It's almost a Pompous Olive Garden. The dish I had was good but the prices are high considering the portions. During dinner some person, staff presumably, blasted Fabreeze into the room Three Times. My appetite was gone. At the end they spring it on you that they only accept cash. If you don't have it you need use the atm machine- that costs around 4% I believe. We won't be back. Also, if they are so Genuine Italian, why are mediocre dinner rolls served with butter, not herbs/olive oil? I'm not convinced. read more

Delicious! Simply delicious! Came in on a Friday night before an evening out at Playhouse Square. Started out with a simple mixed green salad that was very nicely prepared and dressed. I was going to have the veal parm, but something about the fish special told me to give it a try, so I did. It was a broiled filet of Brazilian, doused in a chunky red sauce with a side of pasta. I really like this Italian spot. I met a friend here after a day in westlake. The ambience is old school Italian and formal. The waitstaff is great with recommendations and very attentive. I got the chicken piccata with a side of spaghetti. You could just taste how fresh the sauce was. I usually am a stickler for fresh made pasta when I go out but I didn't even mind because it was cooked so well. The chicken in the Petto Di Pollo Alla Domiziano was so thinly sliced and lightly breaded. This meal was divine and I most definitely will be back. read more

This place is truly the real deal! Authentic Italian food 100%! I grew up in NY and NJ, where there is probably an excellent family owned and run Italian restaurant for every 3 people there. Thus, my standards are high, and Stino Da Napoli did not disappoint! From the second we waltzed in, we were treated like royalty, and tended to immediately. The ambiance is upscale but casual. The server was professional, with a good sense of humor, and the food came out within a very reasonable time. The 3 of us had the 'Linguini Alla Sorentina', 'Lasagna Alla Meridionale', and the 'Gnocchi Alla Napoletana', and they were all delectable! I had the first dish mentioned, and it was as good as my all time favorite seafood pasta dish I ever had in all my 63 years, which was on the island of Paros, Greece this past summer! The combination of herbs, spices, garlic base, shrimp, and perfectly cooked pasta was so good, I even asked for extra bread so I could dip the remaining sauce and clean the plate at the end! If I had to critique something, and it is minor, it's that I wish they would bring out at least a small loaf of Italian bread (like all 'old school' Italian restaurants used to do years ago), or a variety of dinner rolls (rye, pumpernickel, rosemary, onion, etc.), instead of plain dinner rolls you can find at the supermarket. Italians and Greeks are crazy about good bread at the dinner table, and many restaurants need to get back to this. No big whoop though... we will return soon! We've dined at Stino five or six times over the past two years. I prefer to go in the summer for some reason. ( Lovely little patio) I've had soup at this restaurant that was absolutely amazing. I love the gnocchi. It's obviously homemade. The service is excellent and the martinis are delicious On the downside- the portions are small. This is fine for me but my husband has to order a good amount of side dishes ( priced separately) to be happy. They do not take credit cards and I really think they should. Not sure if it's hurt their business but we have passed by there and kept walking a few times because we don't really carry much cash. Less pretentious then Johnny's Fulton but again- small portions so I guess it just depends on how much you eat. read more

My biggest pet peeve with businesses is not respecting reservations. I came here with a group of 9 people for a birthday dinner having reservations at 8pm. At 8:25 we were taken to a small table crammed in the corner because that's all they could find for us. It would have been doable for a party of 7. It then took 20 minutes to get our drinks because they were out of items but the server was unaware and had to keep returning to the table. The food was half and half: half of us got mushy noodles with a basic red sauce while half of us got tasty lick the plate clean entrees. For us unfortunate half we ended up going across the street for tasty bar food that we could purchase with a credit card. read more

Meet Augustino from Naples. He is very friendly. He is one helluva chef. Try the Spaghetti Al Fumo Del Vesuvio. Delicioso! Tomato based sauce with cream, smoked bacon, onions. We have pined for this sauce since moving away from the west side of Cleveland. Try the Petto Di Pollo Alla Milanese. Outstanding! Very lightly breaded, nice lemony flavor. Even the house salad here is great-fresh lettuce and greens with the house dressing-just EVOO, sea salt, fresh pepper, a squeeze of fresh lemon-very basic and true to italian tradition. As a matter of fact, we probably tried just about everything on the menu and loved it all. I could go on, we lived close enough that we picked up take-out probably once a week for over a year. Once he gets to know you, Stino has been known to ply those waiting for take out orders with italian coffee. Very nice, better drive home before the coffee hits you. Probably shouldn't have had that on an empty stomach. Everything we tried here is great quality and wonderfully flavorful and we miss Augostino and his food terribly. read more

Reservations definitely necessary as this place is extremely popular. the menu is fairly extensive and our only disappointment was with our appetizer. We specifically asked for our calamari to be crisp and when it came out the waiter told us "they don't do it that way". Had I known I wouldn't have ordered - skipped it the next time. This was my first time at Stino Da Napoli. Nice atmosphere in the restaurant. However - ridiculously overpriced. My meal was good, but it wasn't worth what I paid for it. Portion sizes for the other people I was with were ridiculously small. I also find it bizarre that when ordering an entree - you either get a pasta OR a salad. I ordered both with my meal, and the salad was a small amount of lettuce with some dressing and carrot shreds splashed on top of it. The $6.00 I paid for the two meatballs were so incredibly small and not very flavorful. I also find it bizarre that a restaurant labeled as "fine dining" does not take credit cards. I realize credit card processing fees are high, but who carries that kind of cash around? I am not sure I will be back. On the positive side - I ordered a lemon square to take home and it was very good. The pastry chef knows what he or she is doing. read more

It is 2012, a beautiful restaurant in upscale Rocky River and the owner still doesn't accept credit cards! So bizarre. We dined here for the first timelast Saturday night, everything was fine until waitress advised us cash or check only when bill came. When we asked if there is an ATM nearby, she said we had to drive to one. Really? If you want to be that greedy and inconvenience your customers, the least you can do is ensure there is an ATM nearby. Waitress gave us a bit of an attitude stating there was a "sign" on the front door. Well, when we walked in, a couple who was walking in front of us had the door open so we missed that "sign". Owner needs to advise servers to tell customers when they sit down about this ridiculous old fashioned policy. Food and atmosphere were good but we were so turned off that we will never return. I rarely give out 5 star reviews but Stino Da Napoli has wrestled one out of me. Despite getting there half hour before they closed (they close early for a Saturday!), the service was not rushed. Our server was friendly and didn't show any signs of being inconvenienced. Our salads were dressed perfectly with olive oil and lemon juice. I tried a shrimp pasta dish with their red sauce. It was delicious. I tried a bite of my friend's gnocchi and briefly debated stealing her dish. The gnocchi was perfectly soft and pillowy. When I asked for extra bread, the server wasn't sure they had any left given they were almost closed. However, the kitchen found a few slices they had just put away and they warmed the bread up for us. The prices were fair. The ambiance was nice (maybe a touch kitschy). I do find it a little strange that they don't take credit cards but their service/food more than makes up for it. I wish we had an Italian place like this where I live! read more

This is my favorite restaurant in Cleveland. The fact that they don't take credit cards is no big deal compared to the deliciousness of their meals. I've probably eaten there 15 times and ALWAYS have great service. The staff at Stino never have even the slightest attitude. They appear genuinely happy to see you and help you and never annoyed or put out by a request. That is very rare. the food. Oh, the food. Please go on a Thursday and get the special: beef tenderloin lightly breaded with romano cheese. Accompany it with pasta with Vesuvio sauce. then die happy. You can buy jars of the Vesuvio sauce at Heinen's (or at Stino) which is fantastic. We often get the sauteed calamari and it's perfectly cooked every time. Dipping the bread in the leftover white wine/lemon broth/sauce is recommended. (It's not breaded in case you are expecting a fried calamari.) It's quite intimate as it's a smaller place. Finding parking isn't usually difficult. A dinner for 2 including appetizer, wine and dessert will be pretty costly, which is the reason I don't give Stino 5 stars. But this is absolutely worth the cost. One of my only annoyances about Stino is that they don't open until later in the day (4pm, I think) to make a reservation, and they're closed on Sundays and Mondays. A must try to for anyone looking for authentic and delicious Italian food. read more

The food is excellent, they offer a nice wine selection, and the service is pleasant and efficient. I recently returned to Stino for the first time in years for a date. I ordered the Tilapia Alla Carrettiera and found it to be a tasty and wonderful selection. The excellent food we shared, the cozy atmosphere, and the good wine really made for an excellent first date. THE DOWN-SIDE: The place is small (part of the charm) so you must make a reservation. And remember, they do NOT accept credit cards. However, they do accept personal checks. THE SUM-IT-UP: Go here for a romantic date and to sample some excellent Italian food.
