Beyond the food and drink, Taphouse, and especially Sunny (the owner) are one of the most community engaged businesses in Southern Maryland. They have put on countless events supporting all types of local organizations, and always work with nonprofits when they need anything. Taphouse and Sunny himself really serve as one of the best ambassadors of St. Mary's County, especially since a large portion of the customers are transient. This place is like a Naval Aviators bar really focused on the Test Pilot school and the aviation test squadrons supporting the base's mission. This place was closed for a bit for covid, but now is open several nights per week. It is a good place to gather after work and their is a pretty good selection of beers and wines for a really cheap price. It isn't open to the public, but for those with base access - a good place to consider stopping before heading out for the night. Recommended!
